  1. Hi Pinky - The link for the villa is: Luxury Villas and Townhouses on Yal Ku Lagoon: Akumal the link for Jen (wedding planner) is: Home Hope this helps!
  2. Probably a little late at this point, but just thought I'd throw another suggestion in... I'm getting married at Casa Romero in Akumal (on Yul-Ku lagoon) on July 3. We're renting the house (and actually the entire property which includes another villa - fits 14 people - and 4 townhomes). We'll have a pretty decent size property to ourselves. Our wedding planner is Jen at Turtle Bay Cafe - so far she has been AWESOME. She is originally from the states and relocated to the area, she's found great deals on most of the things I want (plus she owns the majority of items you'd need to rent - tables, barware, etc). Good luck planning!
  3. Hey Ladies, Just saw that there was a reply on here (I've been slacking off on the wedding planning!). Anyways, Nicole - your website is great! Ours isn't quite as robust as yours, as we're kind of posting information as we have it - as well as doing a lot of phone/in person convos. Here it is: Krystle & Brian's Wedding! We're not doing a site visit or anything, just relying on our gut feeling that Casa Romero is the right site for us. We are using Jen - actually spoke with her briefly today and then got pulled away by work. She's awesome so far, has great ideas, and seems to be pretty accommodating in terms of pricing. The only piece I keep forgetting to ask her about is about getting hair done - do you know if she knows anyone? Originally my at home hairdresser was goign to teach my mom how to do it, but my mom is a little worried that she won't be able to pull it off How's your planning going so far? We have a lot of the big decisions made (obviously location, I have my dress, bridesmaid dresses are picked, colors are picked, photographer chosen, rehersal dinner loaction chosen) - still working on some stuff for folks to do while in Mexico. One awesome thing that we are doing (we're not makign everyone come along, but who ever wants to - nice and casual) is going cenote diving. I completely recommend looking into it if you or anyone that is comign with you is into diving at all. Anyways, best of luck to you in your planning... so glad there's another casa romero bride on here
  4. Hey! I'm getting married in Akumal on 7/3/10... we're getting married at a private residence - Casa Romero. Where are you getting married? (oh and congrats!)
  5. I just decided to book Samuel as well. He has been VERY responsive to all of my emails (and I'm one of those people who expects email responses w/in 24 hours), was more than happy to provide references, and his pricing is MUCH better than other photographers (plus, his style of photography is EXACTLY what I had in mind). Even though I haven't heard much about him over this forum or elsewhere, I'm very sure he will do a great job. We're doing the "Joyful" package - as I love my dress too much to "trash" it and will have already done engagement pictures here. Our wedding isn't until July - so have some time... if anyone uses him prior to then, please post pics! Good luck all!
  6. love the cookie idea! MarieSam - you'll have to post pictures of everything afterwards - I'm having my wedding almost a year after yours (pretty much to the date, as of right now!) Ahhh so glad I found this forum, so many good ideas!
  7. Hello 2010 Brides! We're doing things a little bit different - no resort, no all inclusive... instead we're renting a beautiful villa in Akumal on the Yul-Ku Lagoon. I'm so glad there are other people planning 2010 weddings already, my friends think I'm crazy for getting stuff done so soon! Anyways, we've narrowed it down to two villas - families will be staying in both (and potentially a 3rd). Our wedding coordinator is Jenn at the Turtle Bay Cafe - she's awesome so far. Lots of suggestions, good pricing, good at staying within a budget! We'll see how it all progresses from here out - but sometime at the end of June 2010 (still trying to choose a specific date) ... I'll be a Mrs!
  8. Hi All, A little late in posting this, as I've already started asking questions around here! Anyways, we're having our wedding (yes, I'm way ahead in planning) at the end of June 2010 in Akumal. Pretty sure we've locked in on location - either Casa Romero or Casa Azul Riviera both are on the Yul-Ku Lagoon. We'll be renting a few villas and having our loved ones stay for the week. I've started working with Jenn at Turtle Bay Cafe - she seems awesome so far! Anyways, haven't gotten into any other planning... but I'm so glad I found this resource! thanks K
  9. MarieSam - I'm just in the beginning stages of planning my wedding (not till next year) but we're going to have ours in Akumal, and I've been in contact with Jenn about catering and having her plan it... how's your experience with her been so far? Where in Akumal are you having your wedding? We're doing ours at one of three villas (I can't decide!) and Jen seems to be pretty helpful so far... Would love any tips/things to watch out for if you've noticed anything!
