  3. Hi everyone! Thanks for all your feedback! As it turns out, I think I'm going to do the Catholic Church ceremony in my home town followed by a small lunch and then head out to JA for a symbolic ceremony/reception 2-3 days later. It makes all the paperwork so much hassel free!! It's working out for a number of people in my group. Plus I just got quoted with a good price (at least I think it is) for GPJ... sooo I'm kind of excited about it all. Hoping to finalize dates within the next 2 weeks =) Thanks again for all the advice!! Bren
  4. Wow... Petals, you look amazing!! Congrats!! You're wedding pics look absolutely fabulous!
  5. Hi Sherryl_Joy, Have you had any luck with planning the catholic wedding at the Our Lady of Fatima Church and then a reception at the Riu? If so, please, please share any information you have with me. Also, can you provide me with the contact info for the wedding coordinator that you are in touch with? I would be the happiest person if they are able to accomodate this request. I look forward to your response! Thanks, BB
  6. Hey guys! Thanks for all the information.... I'm still looking into this. RIU indicates that they cannot perform catholic cermonies however I have just emailed them to double check. Anyone know how what their turn around time for responses are? I've also sent an email to Grand Palladium on this topic. Does anyone have contact information for the wedding coordinator at Grand Bahia Principe? Thanks! BB
  7. Hey guys! I'm leaning towards having a destination wedding in Jamaica since my FI and I met there initially. I'm hoping that the cost per person from T.O. will be somewhat reasonable for my guests who will be coming from Toronto and the UK. The other back up location would be Punta Cana.... But for the time being, I just wanted to see if there was anyone out there that stayed at an AI resort and had a catholic cermony and reception back at the resort?? If so, can you let me know which resorts offer this? I've been doing some research and it seems that some resorts do not perform catholic ceremonies. Hopefully there is someone out there that is or was in my boat and can recommend a resort in Jamaica. Thank you! BrenBren
  8. Hi everyone... My fiance and I are planning to get married in Feb or April 2010 in Punta Cana (Gran Bahia, NH Real Arena, Riu...) OR Jamaica (Gran Bahia, Riu, Iberostar...) Haven't decided as yet, still looking at our options and cost. I'm hoping that we can do a catholic ceremony and a private reception - so if anyone has ANY information on that, I would love it if you could share! Looking forward to this experience! BrenBren
