  1. hey guys I am a little bummned becuz i am leaving for the Barcelo in 33 days and Xhail hasn't responded to any of emails in the last 2 1/2 weeks and I called her today and asked her to email me some of the things I had asked and she still hasnt. Could someone please send me the menu options? also, does anyone know what the options are for canopies for the ceremony, and how much extra it is to add on? thanks ladies!

I'm getting married Jan 8 at the Barcelo and it took very little to convince us that making it legal here was the way to go! it will be so much less of a hassle once we get there, and same with us- the day we make it legal we're not going to make it anything special - the REAL wedding is mexico!! also, both me and the FI are in the military as well so this will be soooo much more relaxing to have allll the paperwork done before we go to Mexico so when we get home- we can just relax!

  6. Ok so if you choose to not do a cocktail hour (which I am not) what exactly do your guests do during that time before dinner while you and the hubby are taking pictures?? do they still keep the guests entertained in some sort of way? does anyone know??

[email protected] I know I agree, it still is cheaper than having a big wedding here at home...but everything that is 'just one more thing' keeps adding up!!!! :/ its getting to be more than i originally planned! You ladies are so awesome and helpful!!! I don't know what i would do without this site!

  12. Sandra, We are doing the same thing! doing the legal ceremony in ND before we leave, haah we ARE twins! have you picked a reception site yet? i have not! ALSO, are we all still waiting on the 2010 package prices YET?!?!

That STINKS if weather is bad, we still have to pay the 60/person! ugh and very good to know about the photographer...that'll be my next big decision! Does any have the WC Xhail, thats who i got assigned and have never heard of her, so just curious. yay, can't wait to hear how all our 'big' decisions work out!
  15. Yes Sandra, I agree, worth it!! I feel as though if we are goign to invest this much $$ to travel allll the way to Mexico and get married, we better have darn good pictures to show for it!!! :)especially with such a pretty atmosphere. so I am totally pumped for you! DJ: $600/5 hours, thats AMAZING! i think we are just going to do the ipod thing for now?? haven't really looked into it much yet. Have you decided if you are doing your reception outside yet? Haven't decided my location yet. hehe i know this is just too fun being on the same day! lol of all the days thats too funny! You will be just less than an hour than me walking down the same aisle/sand aisle lol! i will be sure to leave it nice and clean for you! hehe O and how many guests are you lookin at? I have 20ish booked right now maybe looking at 30...hoping to keep it pretty small tho..that was the goal of our destination wedding, keeping it as small as we could
  16. ALSO, Sandra did you get your booking problem figured out?? i saw your prices sky rocketed, mine did too right after Swine Flu broke out, and my TA assured me it would be temporary, we waited a week and she was right, they all went back down! then we booked!

  19. yay, glad to be here it is super helpful since it does take forever to hear back, its nice to be able to share info talked to my travel agent today...and i guess they are still waiting for the 2010 wedding package rates to come out..and once that gets figured out then i can actually start 'coordinating' with the planner! so we will see what happens!! what are your plans for a photographer?? i am debating just bringing a friend from home..have you heard if their photographers are very good?

Hi Sandra! lol thats AWESOME well nice to meet yoU! omigoodness, i bet your the 4-5 time slot? haha, they told me that was taken so i went ahead and took the 3-4p time slot (vs the 5-6 which i thought would be a cutting it too close for dark pictures during the ceremony) cuz we are outside as well! but no, i am not in the palace, we are in tropical! i considered upgrading to the palace the night of the wedding but for some reason i decided against it, i think cuz i am actually able to get a 'nicer' room for the price i am asking at the tropical vs a lower class room at the palace. where are you doing your reception?? i am really hoping i can upgrade to an outside grill. i really dont like the idea of being 'inside' with no windows when i am in Mexico! and as far as the WC, i have not even talked with them, my travel agent has actaully been the one to be in contact with them thus far, but even she said it takes a while to hear back!! but i agree, i am not too worried, i think all will just come together once we are there!
  21. Also, i am interested in the open air grills. how does that compare to the baquet hall?? If i would want to switch to an open grill would i have to upgrade my package or just pay a fee, also is it too late to switch packages once i have already picked one?? goodness i have so many questions! any help would be AWESOME! thanks ladies
  22. Hi ladies i am a Jan 2010 Barcelo Bride!! I chose the Sea breeze package but an now a bit worried... I can't decide if i want to have my reception in one of the open air grills? I am looking at the pictures above me and the banquet hall does look very sweet as well. any advice which to go with? if i do want to switch to a grill, do i have to upgrade my package, or can i just pay a fee? Also, is it too late to upgrade my package, do i have to stick with what i chose? please help, any info would be great, thanks!!
