  1. Jessicai, Yes, I got my flowers through the resort florist. I flew in my own photographer and hired my own videographer. The resort photographer did a good job but we only used him during the ceremony. Since we flew in our own, we didn't need another photographer. We didn't realize a photographer was included w/ our wedding package. I really can't say if the salon at the resort would do a good job...I had a bad experience with my manicure so I would at least get a trial to be safe.
  2. Chinaire, Here is my price quote: HAIR & MAKEUP TRIAL $180 usd HAIR & MAKEUP DAY OF THE EVENT $280 usd PARTY PEOPLE HAIR ONLY $45 up to $70 MAKEUP ONLY $80 And Fernando's email address: [email protected]
  3. Hi Yules, You can see our wedding video here: http://mediamorfosisblog.com/2010/09/now-jade-wedding-puerto-morelos-riviera-maya-laurenamichael/ I emailed the wedding coordinator inspiration pics for my flowers and centerpieces prior to the wedding. My bouquet and centerpieces weren't exactly what I had chosen but they turned out nice. Best, Laurena
  4. Hi Chinaire, I requested the flowers for the cake...I emailed Pilar inspiration pics prior to the wedding. I hired an outside vendor for my hair & makeup - Fernando Fuentes from the makeup pros (www.the-makeup-pros.com). He brings someone w/ him that does hair. They were great and I felt beautiful. My hair and make up held up through the humidity and to the end of the night! I would not recommend the salon at the resort. I had requested pictures of past brides and they never sent me any. I got a manicure the day of the wedding and it was the WORST manicure ever. If they can't even do a simple manicure, I would not trust them with your wedding hair & makeup. We had our ceremony on the Pergola, over looking the ocean. It's concrete so no worries about wearing your shoes. Hope this helps! Laurena
  5. hi you can see the hotel photographer's pictures on our wedding website: www.laurenaandmichael.com (the site is temp unavailable for some reason but if it's not back up in a few days, I can send you some pictures) and here's a picture of our cake. they charge per slice for each additional guest not included in the package. we ended up paying $650 for this cake! way over priced but it did taste good. maybe you can try to negotiate.
  6. hi brides to be, Â I'm the bride who wrote the review. Â here's a link to our wedding website and our photog's blog: Â http://laurenaandmichael.com/ (the wedding ceremony pics are from the resort photographer that came with our wedding package) http://blog.missyphotography.com/2010/07/12/laurena-weds-michael-puerto-morelos-mexico/ (this is the photog we flew in from nyc) Â and for those who are interested in hiring a videographer, you can see some of their work in the link below. I cannot say enough about them...they were AWESOME. http://vimeo.com/user307762 if you have any questions, feel free to contact me: [email protected] Â gluck! -laurena

I was thinking 1-1.5hrs for myself and 45min for each of my bm's.
  8. I am planning to book Fernando as well for my May 2010 wedding but he hasn't told me where to send the deposit.

  10. I am also getting married in May but maybe it's different depending on your location? I'll be getting married in Riviera Maya. 11. Hi Jesmcan, Do you know where I can see pics of past brides who used Fernando? Thanks! Quote: Originally Posted by jesmcan I just booked Fernando today and I am really excited he does do amazing work. All you past brides just looked amazing.

I would definitely suggest using her. She gets an A plus in my book. She is nice, speaks English, uses only MAC products, and did an exceptional job. She's really good at responding quickly to emails too. Oh and she did a demo/trial for me for FREE! She charged me $70 for wedding day make-up. She has someone she uses for hair that previously worked at the Manforte salon, but I found out about that too late. Anyway, below is her contact info...good luck ladies! Norma Zurama Retail Manager M·A·C La Isla Cancún La Isla Shopping Village Boulevard Kukulkan Lote 18-10 Zona Hotelera. Tel.(99 8 83 19 12 Ext. 771 Cell.(99 2 14 70 22 [email protected] (For hair, I used Mary from the Hilton Spa). She was very nice, spoke very little English though, and although she didn't mess up my hair completely, I would probably not go to her again. I'm guessing I could find someone who would have done a job I liked better. My hair was pretty basic, half up with curls...and the curls were definitely flat by reception, but I think that was the winds fault, not Mary's. Hi Jessica, Would you mind sending me a few pics? I contacted Norma asking for samples of her work and she said her computer crashed and she lost everything. My email is [email protected]. Thanks! Laurena

Ultimately, she was out of our budget due to the travel fee (she lives a few hours away from Cancun). My mua will be Guillermo Flores from Ultrafemme. The bridal package was $300 which includes a trial, wedding day application, eyelash application, touch-up kit and travel fee if you're in the Cancun area. Patricia, the point of contact was really nice and easy to communicate with. Her contact information is: [email protected]. I am a little nervous, but I think it'll be okay when we have the makeup trial. I guess I'll find out in 11 days! PM me your email address if you would like example pictures I received. HTH! Hi Bumbles, Have you posted a review for Guillermo? I have contacted a few of the makeup artists recommended on the forum but is having trouble deciding. Would you mind sending me a few pics? My email is [email protected] Thanks! Laurena
