Of course we used it!!!! It was amazing Its very big and feels just like a hot tub. To sit out there in gorgeous weather overlooking the ocean is incredible. At night you can see cozumel in the distance and the lights of that island. its so pretty Glad you liked the videos! i wish i would have thought to take more for you guys!

RIU Ladies: I have a special treat For those of you considering splurging on the 2 story bridal suite.... I took videos of it and am posting the link for you to download now. Let me apologize first, because when i took the video of the inside it was before we were checking out so its messy!! but you'll get an over all feel for what it's like....SO AMAZING! Our room number was 2055. The first part of our stay was in a different room, which was exactly the same on the inside as the 2 story...but just no 2 stories and no amazing view (it was on the first floor). So anyway if you do the master suite the inside of the room will look the same as the video too. And if you do the 2 story suite hopefully it will look exactly the same :)

we didnt pay extra for food....there was so much food everywhere and the cocktail hour was so long...we figured people could take a break and get a snack if they wanted. We found that a lot of our guests didnt attend the entire cocktail hour. (it was 3.5 hours!) Some did, but the majority came to the last hour and did their own thing for a few in between.

 

ShellK...I dont have the pictures anywhere but FB right now. But I promise as soon as my photographer sends me some I will email them to you! I can see if my mom will send me the pictures some other way.... or you can join facebook :) woot woot! i'm so excited for your wedding.....all of your girls i promise you will LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hi ladies!!!!!!!! I'm back and I guess now I have to work on doing a review although I am still on cloud 9!!! The weather was AMAZING. I was there for 12 days and it rained for only 2 hours total (on 2 different days). Both times it was in the morning. My wedding day was picture perfect! I see that most of you have seen pics on FB... I also got my pro slideshow link...although its only a few pictures. My mom took a TON of pictures of the hotel and of Chilis and bogofoto....so if you have facebook I can send you the link to all her pictures too. She has a lot of the grounds, lobby, etc. Send me an email to [email protected]. Other than that, does anyone have any other questions for me? We did a TTD at RIU and it was the most fun thing I've ever done in my life. Although currently i have no pro pics of it and am DYING to see them!!!!!!!!!!

We ARE making a playlist for our DJ but its only of MUST PLAY songs..... we have a few like "Lose your love" aka "The Josie Song" because it starts out "Josie's on a vacation far away...." so i HAVE to play it! Stuff like that. We also have a playlist of ceremony music that we worked on putting together last night.

I want my ceremony pushed UP...but I already scheudled a bunch of spa appointments so i'm considering leaving it!

I have no real idea whats going on for my b-party! i just know we're taking a limo downtown (chicago) and staying overnight somewhere. I'll post pics!!!

ShellK- We leave on the 24th, and fly home December 5th!

i actually am at work just having a semi-slow day although i'll be in a meeting for a few hours starting in 10 minutes so i wont respond as fast! i think we will still have a cocktail hour, probably 5:00 to 6:30 if thats possible, I havent even broached the topic with the WC yet.

 

I havent even started a planning thread. God knows when I will have time for that. i tried to post a lot of the pics of stuff i was doing for my RIU girls...but havent shared much with the rest of the forum yet! I've been stressing about my weight and FI and I started south beach and I am actually down 18 lbs which is great! but we work out twice a day (before and after work) then make dinner and in my spare time i try to email AEL and my mom to finalize all the stuff we havent done. Its getting so close which makes me even more busy. You must be absolutely dying!!!!!!!

 

right now i'm in the midst of my thank yous from my bridal shower. I have had like 50 to write...it was brutal. This weekend is my bachelorette party!!!!! How did your bridal shower go?? I'm so glad you got to have one! Good thing you stepped up and said something, you deserve it!

That is amazing that you got the open bar person charge dropped!!! I plan on negotiating for some of that stuff once i'm there because i dont want to get too stressed about it now. But that is a huge cost saver! And you got your projection screen too! I am happy for you! I really think you'll have no problem getting the earlier dinner.... i forgot to answer you before, my starts at 6:30 to 10:30 now.

 

also.... did you know the sun sets in mexico in Nov. at 5:08. Try and use that to negotiate too! i wasnt sure how you felt about pictures but my ceremony i really wanted pictures in the SUN. now i'm stressed because my ceremony is at 3 and i'm worried i wont have enough time to get pics in the daylight with J. Just a thought.

Lisa- Honestly I do not know how. All I know is that my mom as freaking out and started emailing the TA because she couldnt stand the later time. I think it had something to do with which times they are "most busy"/seasonal wise. I think it came out that not as many people travel to the RIU on thanksgiving weekend and thus they allowed a "special circumstance" and an extra $200 plus 9/pp for open bar. So the cost of the private was 1900 instead of 1700 and its an extra 500 for us to have the open bar. Like Archie said I am almost SURE they will negotiate with you, espeically once you are there. Please don't mention my name or that I personally got this deal because I'm worried they'll take it away! But I do think you will be able to do it!!!!!!!!!!! don't stress!

lisa OMG you have 59 booked!!! thats awesome. They better let you! can the photographer count as #60 or did you already include them?

 

we decided because on the switch because my TA was able to negotiate an earlier dinner at bogo foto (i wanted chillis) but am just happy with an early dinner. i found out yesterday after i sent you that long PM!

yay! thanks Lisa!!! post some of yours I'm getting so excited for you! PS we had a big wedding change yesterday after I PM'd you. We're now doing a private dinner at Bogofoto and paying the stupid 9/pp for open bar! so my seating plans are up in the air again!
