  1. I want to comment on one of the replies about L & A Photography. I personally met with them in January to iron out the details of the package we wanted. I found Leticia to be very flexible in meeting our needs. I would also like to share the link to some pictures she took at Dreams VM in April, her first wedding shoot there. The link is Site Title. My daughter's pictures will be online by the end of the week & I will post a link to them as well. We looked at many photographers in PV & determined the quality of L & A was by far superior to the others we saw. Pricey, yes, but sometimes you get what you pay for! Good luck to all you PV brides!! It is such a beautiful place with wonderful people!
  2. My daughter just married in Puerto Vallarta & I wanted to share the information with you. She married in Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. It is a beautiful church, but getting your wedding booked there is a challenge. It helps to have a Spanish speaking family member to help with that. The reception was at CasaMagna Marriott in the Marina. Rosario at the hotel was incredible helping us. The food was great & the service was to be commended. Robin with Vallarta Vows was instrumental in securing a band for us as well as a DJ. The band was good & the DJ was non-stop music. GREAT! We had fireworks on the beach that the Marriott arranged. Superior Tours sent charter buses to the hotel to transport us to the church then back. Wonderful experience with them. Puerto Vallarta Tours did all our airport transfers....the only way to go...no hassles! Ray with PromoVision was an incredible video person. Highly recommend him! L and A Photography did an outstanding job with pictures. Very professional & beautiful pictures. Flowers to Go in PV did the flowers. So easy to work with!! I didn't hire a wedding coordinator, choosing to do the planning myself from the states. It was a challenge, but when the dust cleared, it was well worth it! Feel free to ask any questions. We had a WONDERFUL time!!!!
  3. El Dorado has great food. Daughter's welcome dinner will be there in June & the prices were reasonable.
  4. My daughter is marrying in June, 2009 in PV. We went in January to look at the church, reception sites, etc. We have tried doing the coordinating ourselves which is difficult being out of country. I would suggest using a wedding coordinating service. The fee looked high at first, but now I think it would have been worth it. Some of the vendors we have had excellent luck with to this point are Vallarta Flowers, L & A Photography, Ray at PromoVision for the video, & Rosario at Casa Magna Marriott Hotel. Our big hang up has been securing music, but Vallarta Vows is working with us on that. Good luck with your planning! It is a beautiful place!
  5. I have looked & looked for pictures of the church with wedding flowers. I will post the links where I have found a few. It will kind of give you an idea of what it looks like with flowers. One is a photographer's website & the picture is about 1/4 of the way down. The other is a video & you have to "freeze" the slide show to see the church. As I said earlier, I was in the church a few weeks back & it is absolutely stunning just as it is. There is a lot of shiny gold & from what few pictures I have seen with flowers, the flowers detract from the beauty. I took a picture & wish I could post it, but the resolution is too big to post! Joe Latter Photographer VIDEO.CA - Puerto Vallarta Photographer Wedding Events, Boda Fotografo. Hope this helps! My daughter's wedding is in June at the church. We'll post after that to let you know how it went! Best wishes to all you Puerto Vallarta brides!
  6. I went inside the church a few weeks back & I am thinking we won't do any flowers for the church. It is absolutely beautiful as it is & the pictures I have seen where flowers were in there for weddings seem to take away from the beauty of the church. Use that money for other things in your wedding! That's what I'm hoping to do for my daughter's wedding!
  7. What church will you be marrying in in Puerto Vallarta? My daughter is marrying there in June and I want to make sure we don't have any issues with that! Thanks!
  8. This is a difficult thing for you, but just remember he is your dad & she was his choice to marry. You can't change how she is, but you could make things even worse by not including her. You said she didn't include you & your sister in her wedding, but please don't use that as a reason for doing the same. Try to be a bigger person than she & remember if push comes to shove & your dad is forced to choose between his daughter or his wife, he could possible choose her & then where would you be? I know it's difficult, but suck it up, include her, don't worry about it & enjoy your big day!!
  9. Good morning. My name is Rae & my daughter is planning a wedding in Puerto Vallarta June 6, 2009. They are wanting to marry in a church that has bi-lingual services then have a reception somewhere in town. We would love to have a band that plays a variety of music, not just Latin tunes. Also, has anyone had a wedding at Puerto Vallarta Botanical Gardens? We have an appointment to visit there, but would love any first-hand information. Thanks so much!
