Nina, Glad to hear your here..... and all went well. I also think Honey is here. We leave in the morning. We have actually been outside the resort the last couple days visiting friends in Isla Mujeres. Got back this afternoon, in time to pack and to argue with the wedding office about the one major negative we had. We will let you know how it turns out. Like i posted earlier, we only had a couple negatives and everything else went very smooth and was absolutely amazing. I hope to post my review next week early. Our one major negative is we rented the IPOD station ($405 for 4 hours plus one extra). They didn't have any way to connect our iPODS after all our work putting playlists together. The guy had a laptop and was playing songs off it... and did find some of the songs on our list. Because my DH didn't say much about it at the time and just let it ride, we didn't get the problem noted. We argued with them all this afternoon because we don't want to pay 100% of the rate. Our guests did have a good time dancing and the guy did play songs upon request...... but I was ticked because all these songs we didnt have on our list were being played... very loudly. I have been talking to several people and had to bring DH into it because he knew more of the details. So far, all they offered to refund us was $25. We have a meeting with our WC and the music guys in the morning before we leave. Wish us luck. I really don't feel I should have to pay for 100% of this because it wasn't what we wanted..... and we worked for weeks on our playlist. Again, everything else went very smoothly and was beautiful. It is a shame this happened to put a negative on everything that was so good. Also, got our wedding photos today..... OMG, David's work was amazing. i am so pleased with what I have seen. Haven't seen the DVD or digital images yet though. Will probably do that on the plane and in the airport tomorrow.

Thank You all!! Yesterday was the day!! Let me tell you........ You don't have to worry about a thing..... We have over 30 in the resort and had over 40 at the wedding yesterday...... It all went very smooth and it was absolutely amazing. I couldn't of asked for a more relaxing and fun day... Don't worry about anything ....... We were concerned about rain and ended up moving our dinner inside..... it was a good thing. Kelena recommended it yesterday morning due to the forecast. We chose to keep the cocktail hour outside and we moved the dinner inside. It started pouring during the cocktail hour and we all still had a blast.... they say it is good luck if it rains on your wedding day. We all had a blast with it. Also, I had fretted about makeup and hair (I have extreme curly hair). They did such an amazing job, one of my girlfriends started crying in the salon. they made me absolutely stunning. They used a mix of my makeup and theirs. The hair was also perfect. It made it the entire day and even lasted after I went into the the pool with my dress on at 11:00 last night. HA!! It did take forever to get the bobbie pins out, all 90 of them!!! (My new husband had to count them this morning!!) I do have a couple negatives that were so minor that I didn't worry about and everything turned out great!

Maybe Honey and I'll see you when we get there!! We did not make receipts. I had a lot and did throw them in, in case. We didn't bring all our OOT stuff though. We delivered them last weekend with notes to everyone "For you trip" and "Thank you for sharing this time with us". Hopefully, they all make it down here but if not, I tried. I am not worrying about anything any more except the next 9 days. It sounded like Kelena will be with us all day Saturday and will be herding people around. She even said she would try to get a room for a hospitality room for the 8 out of resort people coming in. BTW, she told us that they could come in for the entire day 8:00 to 11:00. YEAH!!

Tina (when you get back), was it better to call Kalena then and just talk over the phone? I've e-mailed her and not heard anything in a week now. I just hate calling because I like to have everything in writing, for my records. (People can say whatever they want over the phone, and it can get misinterpreted as well) so I really prefer e-mail. But if she's not going to respond... that won't help either. We met with the WC (Kelena) today. She had everything so organized. She may not answer emails very well but she did have it all together. She was telling us that she works 10 hours days 6 days a week and sometimes just doesn't have time for emails. It was a 2.5 hour meeting with us going over every detail. Everything we talked about on the phone was just like we talked. I would send emails and just re-forward everyday until she either replied or told me she would call me. Another thing I did when we talked would be write it in an email and send it to her with instructions that if it was incorrect, to let me know. I had copies of all those emails with me today. I didn't need a single one. Also, every price she quoted me was right on with what she re-confirmed today. Also, there is not a choice for songs with the mariachi band. They have set songs for different parts of the ceremony. I am very excited about them. The only choice we had with them is the color they wear (white, black, blue). My DH wanted black and I wanted them in white...... White it was. HA!! I explained that I liked the photos I've seen of them in white but not only that. It is a freaking 2:00 wedding.... they would be dying in Black. Also, for us, the temperature is amazing. There has been a breeze both days we were here and we have been out to the Bugumbillias and B. terrace both days around the times we will be there. It has been beautiful with a wonderful breeze...... but we come from Texas. It has been over 100 with no breeze for two weeks.

I am worried about getting attitude from United, but seriously, they know the deal with wedding dresses. It took us about 1 1/2 hours to get the VISAs and through customs. Everyone off of all planes has to go through 2 or 3 lines. We got there with several other planes. BTW, Customs really enquired about our bags. I kept saying over and over, only $100 for wedding stuff. We finally hit the light and it was green!! YEAH!!

BTW, I did carry my dress with me. We flew Continental. We got some attitude the first leg of the trip but they gladly hung it from Houston to Cancun. Don't worry and fret!! This place is amazing! It took us literally all day to fly, get through customs, get checked in, get our palace passport, and check in at the honeymoon desk but once done, it was very relaxing.

THIS place is FABULOUS!! OMG!! from the moment we turned into the resort yesterday, we were amazed. you turn into a long, long drive into paradise!! We had never been here either. Make sure you know what section to go to when you arrive. We had a super long day yesterday just getting through customs and even checking in but it is absolutely beautiful!! Our room overlooks the pools of the Nizuk section and the ocean!! When we woke this morning, I opened the curtains...... from our bed, it looks like we are on the beach!!! You are going to be amazed at this place!! Also, our chargers for cell phone and laptop work fine. Not sure about other things. They told us the currents are not the same as U.S. but our charges are 110 - 220. We have Sprint cell service. We get reception here but our texting is not working.

Doesn't it seem like yesterday we were months away?? WOW Nina! It does seem like it was month away just yesterday. We are leaving at 6:00 in the morning for the airport. AND of course, I just realized something else. Do we need converters for our latops, battery chargers, etc? I can't believe I am just thinking about this.

48 hours, last day of work, and we are hoping to be finished with all packing 1st thing in the morning so we can enjoy the 4th with friends. I have been meaning to ask this question all week and have been so swamped. Has anyone heard of anyone getting sick from water or food at Moon Palace Just Curious!! The last time I heard of someone in a wedding party getting sick, it was after they ate/drank outside the resort.

I would kinda be freaking out if I was as close as you! But, I'm super excited for you too!!!! Have fun at your shower!! As for switcheroos - I really feel like it depends on your WC is what I'm beginning to think. I'm also having an issue with my WC telling me I can't have long tables at my reception unless she applies with her supervisor for an exception I am nervous and anxious but I know as soon as I get on the plane, it will all be good! I am going to hand it over to the WC and not give it another thought..... at least that is what my goal is. Nina and all!! I finally figured somethig out. My coordinator doesn't respond to email very good at all but when she calls, everything gets resolved. I really think there is a language barrier. I think my WC speaks very good but has a problem with emailing. just my thoughts..... but it is interesting the difference.

Gonna push definitely. I think that's it for now. We are staying at MP Tues-Sun and checking in Sun Palace away from our enormous party Sun-Tuesday. Our WC said we could switch out up to 2 or 3 things. I have also seen in reviews that this could be done. We never know when rules change but I just sent in my list earlier this week and nothing has been said that things have changed.

Receipts!! Yes! I actually put a lot of receipts in my extra bag already. I have been delivering bags the last couple days on my lunch hour with a note "Thank You for sharing" and "for your trip" on the tag. I can only hope that they all get there. It is looking like we only have to carry the contents we are going to use and two bags worth of stuff. YEAH!! Yes, I am very excited and very anxious. Going over and over my lists to make sure we have got everything done..... for both work and wedding.... since we will be gone for almost two weeks. Going for 11 days makes it a little more complicated. Our work is giving us a shower tomorrow that I am also excited about. We both work at the same place, different labs, and have been there for over 15 years. It should be lots of fun. Sounds like they are going all out on decor of the auditorium.

Tiffany Tiffany, We leave in 5 days but I have read review after review on this forum and within this thread. Moon Palace has several locations for weddings and even more places for receptions. I have heard over and over again that the only chance of even running into another bride or bridal party is maybe at the salons getting hair, makeup, spa services the morning of your wedding.

Being a palace member is a little different. I have some people at the resort that are members and their rooms are not counted toward our total rooms. Fortunately, we don't have any problem getting them into the wedding. We had to get separate approval for guests coming in for the wedding due to the number exceeding 20%.

We signed ours in 2008.

She has called me several times and we always resolve everything quickly. How is your experience with her?

Our contract stated number of rooms for 3 nights or number of room nights and we booked through a TA. We originally had it either way with unlimited private events (which I was really hoping for) but with all the recent month issues, we dropped down the next level. We only have 15 rooms but have the total room nights to give us the 1 private function and a few nights free.

My DH and I are getting pedicures/manicures at the same time early on the day all our guests arrive (Thursday) . We are doing our holistic spa treatment at the same time on Friday. I will only do hair/makeup the morning of the wedding. I was actually considering a separate facial. Does anyone that has been there experienced their facials, any recommendations? Would this be something to do a day in advance or the morning of the wedding? 5 days and counting before we sitting by one of the pools in Cancun!

Leanna, If you are getting married legally in Mexico, one of the sheets I received does state the witnesses also have to be there early. Unfortunately, I don't remember how early. We are only doing the symbolic.

(funny story - the closing on my old house got delayed due to this - I was mortified when she called and asked me, not even my two boys that are walking me down the isle know). We will have a secret anniversary and the real one every year.

These are top quaulity and really do feel/look real. I also know there are several threads about Roberta's work on this forum. Check out her items, read her reviews, and look at her photos. Nina, Keep on her about the tables but like Eureaka said, don't let it upset you!! Keep up your spirits. From what we hear over and over, it will be your dream wedding even if everything isn't 100% perfect. Eureka, we will be there from July 5th to July 16th. We are taking our labtop with us so I will probably check the forum while there. If you have any specific questions let me know. I will try and come back and do my review as quickly as possible. Our appointment with our WC, Kelena, is on July 6th. Lady's, 7 days and we will be sitting on the beach and in 13 days I will officially be Mrs. Maldonado!!

Nina, i will let you know. We will be there the Friday before you. I have heard over and over that everyone loves Arrecifes. We are having a five hour wedding reception/party, one that will start with a cocktail hour then go to a dinner, cake cutting, and dancing. I am requesting the VIP HorsD'oeuvres and asking if they can add the Prosciutto with melon pearls. For Dinner, I decided on a buffet. We are going to have the Tex-Mex Buffet (doesn't look like Tex-Mex to me though but yummy - HA!!) I am going to sub Roasted Pork Loin with a Green Tomato Sauce instead of grilled top sirloin. I am going to ask them to add Shrimp Shish Kebabs and request that Midori Cream Caramel Tirimisu be one of the desserts. What selections are you upcoming Brides making for you Wedding Receptions?

It is always good to hear from prior brides. I tried to get Tammsphotos but our date was already booked. I know the slideshow that made you cry. Was it posted by OneLove? That slideshow made my decision to have my wedding at MoonPalace. Since I couldn't get them, I decided to give the MP photographer a try. I am sad the photographer will not be will us all day but I have lots of friends that have promised to take lots of photos. Your photos are great!! They really do great work! I love the colors on your groomsmen too. Our colors are orange and blue..... but we will not have that much!!! HA!! We recently decided to not do a Trash the Dress. I've been thinking that we may end up in the pool..... now that I've seen yours, I may be just like you!! Love it!! Thanks again for the review!
