Hi MDC Brides! I hope you are all having fun planning your weddings! I haven't been back to this forum in a long time and the new format change is great! My wedding was actually at Moon Dance Villas in May, 2010 and I was wanting to post my wedding review. Unfortunately, I can't seem to figure out the right spot to post it. If anyone can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it!

Hey there! I am thinking about switching to an ipod reception, but I am a little confused how it works. This might be a silly question, but which kind of ipod works best for a reception setting? I only have an ipod shuffle and an iphone. Do i need to get the nano? I have also read about bringing a laptop? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Dear Rydm: Thank you so much for taking the time to provide answers to all of my many (many) questions! You don't know how much your responses have put me at ease! I already have a few more questions for you...lol! I will try to limit myself though! I really appreciate the suggestion about the rehearsal dinner at the cliffs. That option wasn't presented to me, so I feel like I may not be asking the right questions or maybe I am just not thinking outside the box! I am really worried about going over budget because I feel like I am not really setting anything in stone - there are so many options and I get overwhelmed. Did you find that it all just comes together at the end? Also, how did you settle your wedding related expenses - like, were you able to put it all on a credit card or did you have to pay cash to each individual vendor? The budget/expense part really worries me because I am afraid that I don't have a true grasp on how much I am really going to spend. Also, did you have a dance floor? LOL...another decision I am trying to make! Congrats to all the other MDV and MDC brides! I can't wait to hear more about your planning adventures! NegrilBrideToo - how exciting! We are both May brides! :-) To Big3N09 - I am catching up and read your post that you linked here. I just wanted to let you know that I think you are very brave to follow your heart! Hi Rebecca! I am still really new to this message board and had previously posted on the Moon Dance Villas thread, but this one seems to get more responses. Thank you so much for sharing your review of MDV. I am so happy that you had such a great experience! I am getting married at MDV in May and am a little nervous because I really haven't had much contact with Oneika. I have so many questions! I hope you don't mind! Did you plan any of the wedding when you got to MDV? Or was it all pretty much finalized before you arrived? Was it extra to have the rehearsal dinner at MDC? Also, how did the transportation work? All of our guests will be staying at MDV. Did you request any of the tiki torches, etc. or did they just do it for you? How much was the fire dancer? Did you have him perform at the wedding or the rehearsal dinner? I am so worried because I feel like I haven't really done any "planning", but it sounds like Oneika took good care of you and your group. I would love to hear more about your planning process! I feel like I am so behind! Hopefully you can share your pictures when you receive them! :-)

Hi everyone! Just wanted to see how the planning process was going with the MDV brides. I noticed that several brides that have posted on this thread, jodyann08 and waja2009, have already had their weddings...congrats to them!! Has anyone heard any feedback from recent brides? I can't seem to find much information out there. I look forward to participating more with the forum! You ladies are great!

Thanks Sparkles and Rydm for the links! I have been following the Moon Dance Cliffs thread and I am starting to get a little worried. I have been in contact with Floral Fantasies and have been given quotes for centerpieces, but it sounds like Moon Dance adds fees in addition to the quoted prices? How is everyone's experiences so far with the planning process and MDV?

Hi Everyone! Thanks so much for responding to my post. We decided to book 4 villas after talking to our immediate families. We aren't getting married until next year, so I am sure that our numbers will change way before then. Other than that, I haven't really done much more planning wise. I contacted Oneika, but haven't corresponded past that initial email. For you ladies that are getting married sooner - have you had more feedback regarding how they do reception setups? I am having a hard time envisioning it without seeing sample pictures. I look forward to keeping in touch and sharing ideas! :-)

Hey there Moon Dance Villa brides! After lots of researching, we think that Moon Dance Villas is our place. We are almost ready to put our deposit down. I still have lots of questions and you all seem so knowledgeable and helpful! How did you decide how many villas to reserve given the initial uncertainty of who would attend? For those of you who are closer to your wedding date - if you didn't reserve all of them - how is availability of villas for last minute attendees? Also, who did you choose as a photographer? I have been in touch with Miriam and she is extremely helpful - which makes me even more excited to book! Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone! I am newly engaged (NYE 200 and have been overwhelmed with all the wonderful information on this site. We don't have a date, but are thinking 2010. We are also undecided on where, but we found (thanks to this site!) Moon Dance Villas in Jamaica and it seems beautiful. Look forward to planning with everyone on here!
