  1. I LOVE your BD Book! Where did you get it from? Did you print it form an online site or did a photographer do it for you? Very cool.
  2. I just finished putting the address labels on our invitations and thought I would try to share it with you ladies. This board is so helpful and I got some great ideas from here. I really love how everything turned out! HUGE CHECK!! Here are some details about what I did: Boarding Pass STD: I designed my boarding pass in Adobe Photoshop. It was printed on white cover stock matte paper and mailed in a stardream envelope from Paper Source. Passport Invitation: This was a labor of LOVE! I designed the entire invite in Adobe Photoshop. I printed the final on Stardream Quartz paper on 8.5 x 11 two page spread on front and back. I used a local printer that charged me about $120 to print, cut and score. I provided the paper. Then I assembled them by stapling with blue staples:) Return Address Circle Stickers: I created return address stickers and printed them on a full page of clear label sheet and then punched out the circles with a 1.5 inch circle crunch. I am trying Snapfish for the first time so I hope this link works! Snapfish: Share:Registration

I think we are just going to bring our own iPod dock with speakers because I think we will have our small group under the gazebo and it will be somewhat of a confined area. Also we are just having music for ambiance and a few dances(dad and FH), but aren't really into any major dancing.
  4. I was told that the tables are round and sit 8 people. Not sure exactly what the size is. We are going to do a signature drink. I would like to put something out but haven't decided on that yet. The tall tables would be really cool, I hope they can work that out.
  5. Has anyone used Sascha as their photographer? I am debating on hiring him instead of using the resort photographer. Is it worth it to go with an outside vendor or have you all had good results with resort photographers? I am at Dreams Puerto Aventuras...

  7. The seamstress will attach it to the dress I just have to come up with the actually beading(on a ribbon). If she has to do a design and sew individual beads its $100.
  8. I am getting my dress custom made and there is beading under the bustline on the "inspiration dress". My seamstress charges and extra $100 dollars to hand bead it or I can make/buy my own. It is basically a strand/ribbon of beads that will be sewn on. I have checked out michaels and found some things, but nothing I loved. Does anyone have any advice on where to find something like this or if I will need to by the beads and sew/glue them to the ribbon? Here is the dress I am getting made, you can click on the view closer or altenative images to see the beading a bit better... 9. I also have hair pretty much exactly like yours(color and all). My decision is whether to straighten it and them have them curl it or wear it naturally curly and have them work with my curl. I have had a bad experience with them working with my curl, they just dont know how withouth makieng it FRIZZ or Messy. I have grown to love and appreciate my curls but am not sure what to do. Going with an updo to keep hair off my neck and face in the July Mexico heat. I am thinking a low chignon with an orchid on one side.
  10. After reading how many decisions many of you have already made I decided I need to get some questions answered. I wrote up a LONG list and will be having a conference call with my TA and Jacy wither Thursday or early next week. I will let you all know if I get any good info!
  11. I thought I read somewhere that the cd is NOT included in the 50 pictures for the Ultimate Package. Does anyone have anything in writing about this?

  14. I love them too! I did the project with my HS photography students and am checking the site to see if any made it:)
  15. Bianca - SO glad you finally heard back. Sounds to me like a productive weekend. We would love to see pics of your OOT bags and cake topper when you get it finished!(like I even need to ask:)) I also(like AlliMay) would like to know where you got them?
  16. I am so excited about this opportunity! We are getting married at Dreams Puerto Aventuras Resort and Spa Riviera Maya, Mexico on the beach. July 2, 2009 Although this may not seem like a unique location the creativity, love and excitement we have will make the wedding a special and memorable experience. Aaron and I are an active athletic couple, so it only seemed fitting for him to propose at the top of a mountain on one of our hikes. We live in VA and went on a beautiful hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was a few weeks before my 30th birthday so I wasn't expecting anything. The day was a little chilly but the hiking kept us warm. At the top the veiw was breathtaking. Blue mountains for miles. We found a little spot all our own and gazed at the view for a while talking about how wonderful this was and how the steep hike was worth it. I always feel grateful in moments like that when we are able to share nature and a quiet time together. Just as I was getting a little chilly Aaron said he had brought something for me. Silly me I thought he brought me a a favorite snack or something. He pulled out a ring box from the hiking pack! He simply said Will You Marry Me and smiled at me with his very handsome smile. Of course I said Yes(I think a few times). We hugged and kissed and took some fun pictures of us with our camera self timer. I forgot about the cold of course! I practically ran down the mountain I had so much adrenaline! It was perfect. Neither of us are showy people. We appreciate the small things in life. It was perfect to have a special and beautiful place that we can return to with fond memories. For pictures you can see our website: Wedding Website - Aaron & Kristie We chose a destination wedding because we wanted things to be intimate and special for our family. We love traveling and to be active and thought Mexico would be a great combination of relaxation, romance and adventure. As teachers we did not have a lot of money to spend and with a destination wedding we can combine our honeymoon and wedding for a very reasonable price. Our wedding will be in blues, turquoise and white with starfish, shells and candle light accenting the area. Think flowing fabric and chinese lanterns. My dress is a mermaid fit silk dupioni deep v-neck front and back. Aaron will wear a silk tan suit. I don't plan to have a ton of flowes. My twin sister will carry a parasel instead of flowers and I will have them available to our female guests. I just can't wait to say I do with the sound of waves crashing and my toes in the sand! We hope that you choose us and would love for you to capture our memorable day with your beautiful photographs!

Is anyone doing this or have talked to Jacy about this?? We havn't really gotten into the details yet. We are thinking about having the buffett dinner in the gazebo. I think(maybe someone who has been there can clarify) that baracuda bar is nearby. I thought we could do apps and cocktail hour there while they set up the dinner service? I really was not going to go into the details with Jacy until about end of March. It so hard deciding on things when you haven't actually been to the spot. Most likley I will buy chair sashes, table runners, lanterns and draping so that if we use the gazebo for any part of the cermony/reception I'll be covered. If we decide to do things on the beach only we can decorate the arch with the draping. I really still have so many questions, but kind of got the impression that its too early to decide on things. BUT you girls seem to be planning these things so I dont know.....

Jesdinan - No I have not inquired about any of the decor questions yet. I asked if I could have a beach ceremony with an arch like that and then have the reception under the gazebo. She said I could, but the arch would cost extra(no price mentioned, have heard girls paying anywhere from $200-$400). I think if you get the ultimate package and bring your own fabric it wouldn't cost anything there, but because I asked to use the gazebo also there is an extra cost(the package includes beach OR gazebo). Still deciding whether to have beach or gazebo. I like that the gazebo would be kind of private without the "private party" cost.
  19. **Fuscha and Orange color scheme** Look at this great pic I found. I LOVE this arch and would like to do this for my ceremony(in blue and white), but it is an extra cost, so I might just stick to the gazebo. NOt so sure about the squatting hawaiin statue thing...haha. http://www.alohaislandweddings.com/u...(6)-756276.jpg

I live in Northern VA, near the Dulles Airport. My colors are fuschia, orange and maybe some green. Read below if you are interested in my crazy calculations. Here are my crazy calculations for how much tulle to get... If you look at the photos on the front page, a person next to the pole in the gazebo is about half as tall as the poll. Lets say the person is 5 feet tall, so the poll is about 10 feet tall. Now if you look at the beam between the polls, it looks about the same size as the poll or a little shorter, so lets just say its 10 feet long. So in the basic formula, a^2+b^2=c^2 or 100+100=200 and then we take the square root of 200 and get ~14, SOOOO in conclusion I would say you need 10+10+14 (~24) feet so cover each corner to corner diagonally, so I am looking at about 50 feet (17 yards) to make the X like figure. Whew!!! I would def buy more just in case... Bianca!! Wow, I might have figured that out eventually, but thanks for posting, it will save tons of time!! I think there are a couple other girls doing those colors(you girls should chat and see if Dreams can store the decor and use it for multiple weddings. Could save lots of money and travel stress?/:) BTW - I LOVE this forum!!

What are you bringing with you(linens, chair ties, tulle/organza etc.)? What are your colors? Where are you located in VA? I am in Richmond. Sorry for so many questions.....If we have similar ideas maybe we can share some costs?

Chair sashes should also give some color in there. I'm not too worried about flowers. I was thinking maybe having some fabric draped from the corners to the middle and then having some lanterns hanging in the middle. Kind of like this, (replace the unbrella with lanterns). http://weddings.theknot.com/ODB/them...ue&pageIndex=3 OR Weddings Gowns Gifts, The Knot

Not sure yet about flowers, etc. I have not completely decided, but I am thinking about using an organza or a sheer chiffon to decorate the gazebo. I am having a hard time since I have not actually been to the space to figure out how much would be needed. I really want something flowy and draped instead of wrapped. Almost like the arches used on the beach(this is what I originally wanted but would cost more). I am also thinking about hanging some white and turquoise chinese lanterns at the top of the gazebo. I was thinking about having petals along the bridge and into the gazebo(silk), but wanted white and wasn't sure if it would blend. My colors are blues and whites so not sure if blue would look good or not.
  24. I thought I had seen a thread before on this subject with GREAT examples posted, but I cannot seem to find it again. Does anyone know about this thread? If not can you show me some of your ideas? Thanks!
