  1. Well isn't that a bummer! Thanks for the info...I really appreciate the heads-up. Maybe I'll email the hotel and ask them why they don't allow it, and see if they have any suggestions for locations. thanks again and I'll vote for your photo in the morning! If anyone has any brilliant location ideas, please post if you don't mind sharing!
  2. I've been thinking about how I'd like to do our TTD session, and thought it might be a neat idea to go with our photog to Tulum, get some shots with the ruins and then go down to the beach below...the beach is supposed to be spectacular there. Has anyone done this, know of anyone who has, or knows anything about it, like the logistics, etc? Any insight would be great! Thanks in advance! I'd also love to hear if anyone has any brilliant ideas for locations for photos in the Mayan... Cheers!

  10. Solidshan, you have a great TA...LOVE how she tells it like it is! I totally agree with her...people seem to love to complain! Not that there isn't any validity, but nothing is ever perfect, even at a resort that costs $1000 a night. I bet in a month or so and beyond the kinks will all be worked out and everyone going will be happy! PS...I am trying to come up with ideas for my OOT bags (ok, now what the heck does OOT stand for? LOL) too...so far a travel candle is my best idea, I'm thinking of customiing them with a personal label. Haven't looked into anywhere that will do them yet, but would love to hear other ideas from everyone!

  12. I'm wondering if anyone has any info on childcare / babysitting services at the resort? we have decided that for our festivities, starting around 300pm, we are asking our guests who bring kids to get a sitter for the night as we want the day/eve to be adults-only. I'm hoping that I can arrange something prior to arrival and take care of the cost for my guests' kids...
  13. Hi ladies, I was away on vaca for the lst 10 days and have spent the better part of the day catching up on all that's gone on since I left! i too have been on holiday at all sorts of resorts and I think for everyone the biggest thing in a great vacation is the food and the service! Since we are pretty darn sure we have the food down as fabulous, we just need to check on what the staff have been like, so I am curious if any of you ladies who have been there in the last month can tell us what your experiences with the staff have been? Entertainment staff, dining, front desk, etc. I honestly believe that we can overlook any of the little imperfections that may arise if we focus on the good things... Also, thanks for all the posts in the last 10 days...I can totally relate to the curly hair thing and the make-up thing...LOL!
  14. Amy, you made a stunning bride...your dress is amazing!! Congratulations and look forward to hearing more about your day!
  15. Wow, Jennik, 100 guests! That's amazing! I look forward to hearing from you, and if I hear back anything I'll let you know too...

I have been waiting a while for a price, but my date is so far off I'm probably low priority. Thanks!

Isn't it dark in November by 5p? Would 4p be to close or should I push for 3p? Hi Peace, I was told by another bride that between 430 & 5pm the lighting starts to get dark for pictures, which was my concern too. My wedding is Nov 20th at 4pm. I tried to switch it to 3pm but the judge wasn't available. I guess it depends if you plan on taking lots of photos after the wedding whether it will matter for you or not. Good luck!
  19. I'm getting a little annoyed about the inflexibility there seems to be with things surrounding the dinner/cocktail party/reception...is anyone else? Our wedding was booked for 4pm in November, but I tried to switch it to 3pm in order to have enough time for pics before the sun starts to go down. Since I wasn't able to switch it to 3pm (JP booked for a year out already!), I asked if I could have a short ceremony at 4pm, then an hour for a cocktail party before sitting down for dinner...but they are not able to adjust any of the times/prices for the cocktail parties so it is basically 2 hours or nothing! If the wedding was at 3pm, 2 hours would work out perfect before dinner, but with a 4pm wedding, if I start the dinner at 630-ish, that only really leaves us with about 2 1/2-3 hours for dancing! And I'd like to also know why if you have your reception on the beach they couldn't extend the time out to midnight. If anyone else has these frustrations, or has addressed them with the WC before, I'd love to hear from you! I don't plan on getting down to serious planning business with Tiffany until next July/August, but maybe in the meantime if there are enough of us requesting some flexibility we can band together and get it done! Sensatori Brides Unite!
  20. Here are the answers to the questions I sent Tiffany...she did get them back to me the next day (I've just been really busy!). Thank you for your email. Here are the answers to your questions · Ceremony at 3pm…how long does this generally last? 30-40 minutes We’d like enough time to have the ceremony, then have pictures taken before moving to the cocktail reception before dinner. · Ceremony on the beach…I would like the beach set up please, decorated with teal and lavender coloured fabric…please see photo below for inspiration. I forwarded your request over to our onsite team · For the chairs, I would like the white covered chairs with teal bows tied around in the same gauzy fabric as on the gazebo…like in this photo. I forwarded this request over as well · After the ceremony will there be a bar available for the guests to have some cocktails before dinner and while we get some photos taken? Your guests can either go to one of the public bars for cocktails or you can purchase a cocktail party. You can get the menus for the cocktail party at this link We would like to have a Mariachi band play for about an hour before dinner. The price for the Maraiachi band is $1200 for 45 http://www.karismahotels.com/wedding...TURES-2009.pdf minutes · We would like our dinner set up on the beach please. not a problem. Remind me to request this 45 days prior to your wedding at the time of payment. You can see the dinner menu in the above link · For the dinner, I am wondering how many entrées we can allow our guests to choose from? You have 3 options for dinner. You can do a buffet which will have a little of everything. You can do a course meal which must be at least three courses. For this you will have you chose for your entire group from a salad, soup, appetizer, main course and a desert. This is all a set menu. The one thing that your guests can chose from is their choice of 2 main course meals and at that point we will need a head count of who is wanting what. The last option would be for you to do a set menu where the menu chose from menus that are already made with an appetizer, main course and desert. You should take a look at the above link for prices was hoping to offer one seafood, one meat, and one vegetarian. · Is wine with dinner included? House wine is included as well as an international open bar · During dinner, are we able to play a video on a screen? Yes you can but I need to get a quote for you · Our after dinner reception/dance I would also like on the beach…I have attached a picture of the type of set-up I would like, but using my colour palette. We would also like some stand-up tables around the area, and a small dance floor set up. Tiki torches and candles also. The Tiki Torches are $9.00 per torch and candle bags are $5.00 per bag · I will not need a DJ, we will be bringing our iPod of our songs, but will need the set-up for that. That will be $250 · I will decide on flowers closer to the day. Can you please send me cake samples? Category Cakes - List of products - Weddings in Cancun & Riviera Maya by Lomas Travel I have the flower options. Also the wine/champagne list please. this is attached I would like to reserve the special bridal suite in the spa for the day of the wedding…how do I go about this? You do this at the resort For our welcome dinner, can we use the one offered in the wedding package (SILVER)? The maximum number of people is 40 people for the dinner reservation. And if so, what does that include / not include? This is a basic dinner you will be eating from the Chefs Special of the day. The only thing that is different about this dinner is the resort will put many tables together so 40 people will be able to eat together We are thinking of having the Mexican Fiesta Cocktail Party for our guests perhaps before the welcome dinner at the restaurant. Is there music included with this since it’s a cocktail party, or can you arrange for it? The Mexican Fiesta does not include music you will have to purchase that. You can look at the music options by going to the following link Category Music - List of products - Weddings in Cancun & Riviera Maya by Lomas Travel Where on the property would you recommend having this? To tell you the truth, We really cant talk about a location for this till we get to a couple of weeks prior to your wedding. The reason for this is because we have to see if we have any other brides that day. The brides have first dibs on locations. So I don’t know what is going to be available to you For the guests that are not staying at the resort but you will want to be at the wedding they will have to pay for a wedding pass which is the following Adult: $72 usd. (13 y/o & up) Child: $36 usd. (3 to 12.99 y/o) Infant; No charge (o to 2.99 y/o) If you have any questions or concerns please let me know. Please keep in mind that I have a 24 hour business day turn around in responding to emails but this will be the best way to contact me
  21. Did they mention anything about the beach? I have sent in photos of how I'd like the ddinner and reception/dance set up on the beach and I didn't hear anything except "I have requested the cost" (what else is new), so I'm assuming the beach is an option?

Any information you can provide would be much appreciated. Thanks ladies! Hi Tracy...that's too bad! BUT I have a question for you...are you booking through Signature Vacations? If so, the flights will most likely be on the Sunday...have you thought about having a Friday wedding? I'm from Calgary too, and we're getting married on the Friday so the guests have a day of recovery after the big day before having to fly home (we're staying 2 weeks!). Of course the flights could change and they probably won't be confirmed until next summer, but at least if the flights are even on the Saturday we're still okay. PM me if you want to chat!
