I am using an outside photographer, Fabio said that we can use anyone as long as it's not Del Sol if they either stay three nights at the hotel or pay $500. I am using RAFAEL IBAÑEZ He is coming in from Monterrey, MX.
  2. Hey Ladies, are anyone guests booking rooms on their own (not through a dedicated TA)?If so, how are you linking them to your wedding at the hotel? All of my guests are booking through my TA except for one that found a better rate online, so I requested that she be placed near the rest of the family and my TA is refusing to do that saying that they cannot gaurantee that the other vendor will uphold the room etc. Aren't a lot of guests booking on their own? This makes no sense to me. It seems like they are trying to make sure they get all the commission by forcing us to book through them.
  3. Thanks, thats what I thought. Id rather spend the extra money on the OOT bags then give useless favors that no one will use. Can anyone recommend a cheap site that sells straw bags? I found this one so far: Welcome to Ailana Kai I'm also looking for travel sunscreen, maybe a wholesale site or store that sells in bulk.
  4. Question: If we are giving OOT bags with a wide assortment of beach themed gifts do we still have to give wedding favors?

I can't wait for my site visit in three weeks so I can experience it first hand and tell you ladies all about it.
  6. So if we can't have it at the restaurant. What are our options besides the beach, terrace and that center outdoor location? If there are two weddings the same day and both have a private reception that only leaves a choice of 1 out of 2 for the second bride. That doesn't seem fair at all.
  7. Hey Ladies...check out these pics azspic (various areas of the hotel including restaurants and bars)
  8. Is anyone getting married at 6 pm and also having a cocktail hour? My concern is that I have read somewhere that the resort does not allow receptions to last past 11pm. If the ceremony lasts 30-45 mins and the cocktail hour 1 hour then the reception would go until around 12am. All of the food/music options are for 4 hours? Will the resort cut the reception short or will they allow it to run the full 4 hours until 12am?
  9. Hey Ladies, Has anyone heard anything about hiring fire dancers or other entertainers that are less traditional? I think it would be a really cool idea but I'm not sure how the hotel looks at it.

Long story short we really won't know anything until the day comes. Totally sucks but really helped me put some aggression into my personal training session this morning. Amy, Have you called Karisma directly? I'm sure they will be open by your wedding. I couldn't imagine them not opening and ruining their reputation by screwing up so many weddings. They are well aware that they have several weddings in October and I'm sure they will do everything they can to open on time. With construction there are usually delays but it seems like a month late is plenty.
  11. Has anyone used DestinationWeddings.com to book their rooms? I am using them and they are pretty good.
  12. I want the date we get married to be the date on the wedding certificate. This is the same date as our dating anniversary and we want to keep it the same. BTW today is our 1 year anniversary of when we got engaged
  13. what's everyone planning on doing about flowers? the choices for bouquets, etc are so limited on the Lomas website. I'm really concerned that they will be able to do as beautiful of a job as a local florist for the US.

  15. I spoke to Fabio about the DJ situation last week and he said that the DJ does MC and does speak English. It's wierd that we are getting different information.

I've also been looking into Mexican Wedding Photos but I'm not sure yet. What about you? We have not decided which photographer to go with yet, but out of all the ones that the hotel approves with no fee we like Claudia the best. This is one of the most difficult decisions I think we'll have to make with this process.

Mesita That would be great, thank you...i'm going to get there on May 10th to try to have everything settled by the 15th. Planning a wedding in a different country is pretty difficult. Have you booked a photographer yet? Are you going there for a site visit?
