  1. Hey 'can't wait', the price list was actually e-mailed to me from Charmaine while she was working at the resort.

  3. We're going to bring our Ipod also, but I doubt our docking speakers will play loud enough for all to hear without it sounding incredibly cheesy. Perhaps if we all voice the same complaints they'll make changes to their strange charges. Talk about trying to nickle and dime us. How about doing some extra things to make our weddings special. You'd think that while the resort is new they'd be making concessions until the resort is at least fully booked!
  4. We have noticed the price increase also. This was actually why I was looking for the managers e-mail. Some of the things that they try to charge you for are outrageous. Even if you buy a $500 photograpy package, you still have to pay $6 for each photograph that you want uploaded onto a CD.
  5. Thanks for the info. Does anyone happen to have David Caso's (the hotel managers) e-mail address?

Are you on the airtransat flight? or Air Canada? We don't have a whole lot of options from Halifax so there is a 50:50 that we'll be on the same flight. Random coincidence!! On a side note. I have a Q for you all. I bought a dress this weekend, but now I'm second guessing the color. I bought it in Ivory with Silver beading. I have not seen the white with silver beading, but I'm sure it's similar. I liked the ivory, it's the one I tried on, and it's also the one in all the photos of the dress... SOLD. Then I started thinking of all the white linen that the hotel brochures talk about. Am I going to clash with the white linen that surrounds me? Should I just switch to the white? I have fairly dark skin and can probably wear either color. Thoughts? Thanks Natalie
  7. Yeah my recent e-mails have been from Nina and I think that is who my fiance was speaking with. It could be a matter of her being new and not understanding, or as I said, men typically can't get these things straight... or maybe it's just mine. At least I have some clarification from others now on the way it is. Thanks Ladies. I think we were trying for the Tropical package and also upgrading to the Blue Lagoon. Based on what you have all told me, you would get charged te extra per plate? I don't know why they didn't just tell us that it would be more cost effective to do it by booking the Carribean package. I find they don't seem to be very forthcoming with info. Perhaps it's b/c the resort is so new and they are on a huge learning curve. It's funny, the differences b/w the Carribean package and tropical package are definately not worth $400 to us: fruit basket, steamed wedding clothes, and continental breakfast. When you factor in the difference from $50 pp to $100 pp, I'll take those extra perks.
  8. Hey Grand Palladium Brides, there seems to be many of us on this forum now. Some getting married really soon, some just starting the planning process. I'm hoping that we can collaborate together and compare ideas. My fiancé and I are getting married in April and have the date booked, but other than that, we do not have a master plan. So far 36 people are booked and I can't imagine we'll get much more than that. We just found out today after speaking with Charmaine that the packages refer specifically to the ceremony and the reception is a separate deal all together. The price at the bottom of each page (Tropical, Caribbean, Romantic etc.) only qualifies for the fee per person for this (i.e. the cost of the cake and champagne). If you have a private reception at either the Poseidon or Blue Lagoon you must pay between $70-60 in addition to the $50 per person that you paid for the ceremony. To rent the Blue Lagoon restaurant and have the Romance package for the wedding ceremony you are potentially looking at $120 pp (above 8ppl) + $300 to rent the facility + any other extras. Has anyone else been given this info? I know at the bottom of the sheets it says "price is subject to change without notice". Just want to make sure we are not getting chumped. In saying this, it was my fiancé that was speaking to her today. Although reliable, he is a male after all! Looking forward to sharing some good wedding planning info.
  9. Do you know what it costs to upgrade to the Blue Lagoon with the Carribean package? We are finding it difficult to decipher the differences between the various packages. We are also finding it difficult to get information from the wedding coordinator. We want a private reception with dinner. Is the Carribean package what we should be choosing? Thanks Ladies. PS. This forum has been so helpful thus far.
  10. Thanks for the info. I think we decided on the Grand Palladium Ladh Hamilton in Jamaica last night. We needed to just make a decision. Now we just have to select the dates. Still trying to get in touch with the wedding coordinator which is proving quite difficult for my travel agent so far. Any Palladium Brides know how to get in touch with him/her?
  11. My name is Natalie, we have just decided to get married in Jamaica sometime in April. I came on this site to try and help us decide between the Gran Palladium Lady Hamilton and the Iberostar Rose Hall Beach in Jamaica. We are choosing between these two because they are the cheapest 4-5 *'s in Jamaica right now and we want to make it affordable for our guests.
