We also tried contacting the WC at the Valentin and got no response to multiple emails we sent. Our TA tried and was given the runaround. We thought we had finally made a breakthrough and was going to confirm a date. They sent us a date and we agreed to it. Then a few days later they said they would need to bump us back a few days. What if we had already booked our flights? What about our guests bookings? We stopped right then and moved on. We really wanted the Valentin, but we weren't going to risk something going wrong. I hope the Excellence will treat us right. So far so good with them.

We are having the non legal wedding at the Excellence Cancun. We plan on just getting married at the courthouse or whatever a few weeks before we go down. What all is needed to be brought with us to Mexico? My bride doesn't plan on changing her name right away so we won't have to mess with the passport change. Does the Excellence need to see documentation even though nothing legal is going to happen?

As of right now we are going with the Gold Package. And the 25 people is the bride and groom plus 23 guests.

This is where we will be getting married in June. Can you tell me if the receptions for 20 people count the bride and groom or is the 20 people all guests? We currently have 25 people booked and just trying to get our extra costs figured out. Also, does the $45 cover the dinner and reception for the extra people? Thanks.

We are going to ERC June 13-21 and then having a reception back home in Kansas, which is where we are originally from, on August 1. We currently live in South Carolina and we aren't going to do anything here. It makes it even more difficult to plan for a reception when it is going to happen halfway across the country.

Technically our address is Moore, but we are in Spartanburg.

We are planning on getting married in South Carolina first, and then just have a non legal wedding in Mexico. Is there a certain time frame we must get married before going down to Mexico? Can we do it 6 months before our trip or must it happen within 2 weeks of the trip? Obviously I just threw those numbers out there, but if it can happen anytime I guess that gives us the freedom to pick whichever date for our REAL anniversary date... Just a thought...

We will be there for 8 nights, but we decided to just book a basic room just like our guests. Overall the money difference would've been around $400 or so for us to be in the Excellence Club rooms, but we'd rather be close to everyone and save whatever $$$ we can. And for a random thought.... I heard there is a hotel(s) next to ERC, but I can't seem to find any maps or info to show me what it is. Are the resorts extremely close? Are we having to compete with more people for the beach space?

We booked through a TA and all we've put down for the resort was a $150 per person deposit. I was told that was enough to hold our room and our wedding date. Veronica then sent us a confirmation # for what that's worth.

Hmm.. sure wish they would have these numbers posted on the wedding page with the packages. Maybe I could've cut a few from our guest list. We're already throwing $2400 at the resort so of course they'll want another $250 or so for 5 more people. And that's just for the dinner? Crazy....

We have the Gold Excellence Package booked for the wedding. The dinner and cocktail party state that they are for 20 people and we have 25 booked to be there. How is this handled? Is there going to be extra fees for the 5 extra people? It'd be nice if they just let us slide by.

We are up to 25 total right now and looking to be just around 30 total. From what i heard they should be able to handle us no problem. I'm just happy to finally have everyone booked...

Does anyone know which category of rooms are located in which buildings? I'm looking at the resort map on the Excellence website, but the buildings just have room numbers and not where the categories are. I assume the cheapest rooms are the furthest from the beach while the Excellence Club rooms are nearest to the beach. However where are the cutoffs to the swim ups and so on. I'm just looking for info....

We are now officially going to be at the ERC on June 16th, 2009. Veronica sent us our confirmation # today. Now that we've got a place I feel lost. I've been researching and emailing resorts for the past 3 months or so... I need something to fill my time. Does anyone know the timeline of when I will need to make the decisions with Veronica? Will she be in touch with me or must I do all the talking? We are going with the Gold Package. It seems like it is just an upgraded version of the Love package, but since there are not many details of what each is I have nothing to be sure of. Like what is the Gold dinner compared to the Silver dinner? So many questions... I'm just happy to finally be booked and can move on.. Whew.. Ok i'm done....

So we booked today and we are just awaiting confirmation from Veronica to confirm everything. I'll just be happy to get this all set. Too much second guessing each resort is no fun. I've wanted ERC the whole time and now I end up with it. Go figure....

Does anyone have a map of the layout of the buildings and rooms of the ERC? I am hoping to book today.

So.... is there any deposit needed to keep a date reserved? Right now Veronica is wanting our arrival/departure information to just hold the date. What if we're not sure how long we want to stay. All I need is a single date confirmed for the symbolic wedding. I just want to get this done...

Thanks. I emailed them earlier this week at that address and have yet to get a reply. And on top of it, I got a confirmation today from Azul Sensatori for next year and only have 48 hours to keep it. I wish the Excellence would respond to me. It kills me how they take their time. All I need is a simple reply to availability.

Anybody have any? I've found some on tripadvisor, but looking for more. Thanks.
