    Why is there only one Dj for instance, I really don't want to have to pay $1300 for a DJ that sucks and basically will just be taking music off my Ipod which I can do myself.     It appears that either way (DJ or Ipod) one of the guests will have to "play" DJ. Here is a question and the response I received from Tiffany. I have decided to go with the Ipod since the sound system and mic are only $250 and the DJ is $1300.....something to consider!

    DJ-I have received a copy of the playlist. How do I make my selection of songs and get it to the DJ prior to the wedding? How many songs should I choose to last throughout the reception? Does the DJ make introductions, announce toasts, 1st dance, etc? I have attached a song list that the DJ plays. If you have any other songs please send them to me and I will pass it along and see if that is possible. The DJ will only be making a few announcments you may want to have one of your guests do the announcments that the dj does not do

    Here's what I have done so far:

     

    reserved wedding date and time at the Azul Sensatori in the Riviera Maya.

    Booked our trip

    Booked Photographer's trip

    designed and mailed out STD magnet's

    Mailed out luggage tags w/ the STD's

    Ordered wedding dress

    Decided on Bridemaids dresses and Groomsmens attire

    Ordered FI's ring

    Ordered FI's tux

    Purchaded BM's starfish necklaces

    Purchased OOT bags

    Purchased centerpieces for reception

    Decided on reception dinner menu

    Picked out cake topper

    Designed menu's, tags, and programs (still need to have printed)

    Hired a seamstress for BM's dresses, chair sashes, table overlays and GM's ties

    Ordered monogrammed mugs for OOT bags

    decided on guys excursion (ATV ride and speed boat rides)

    engagement photos

    chose hairstyle for wedding

     

    Need to do:

    Pick out BM's fabric for dresses to be made (doing that tomorrow)

    Design and order my band (FI's job)

    Order invitations

    make welcome book for guests

    order favors (starfish bottle stoppers)

    make pre-travel brochure

    find make-up inspiration

     

    That's all I can think of right now, but I am sure there is tons more to do!!!!

     

    decide on cake

    finish playlist for reception

    get TTD dress (I don't want to use mine)

    get shoes, wedding jewlery, garters

    Hi Polina,

    Could you please ask the onsite coordinators what is the best way to ship things to the resort from the US? I am bringing my centerpieces and they are very big, tall glass vases. It will just be too hard for us trying to get them there. You may ask how far in advance we should ship them, if we should put ATTN: to (one of them), should we put our names somewhere on the boxes so they know who they belong to, etc....

    I sure do appreciate it!

    P.S. If there are any other brides who will be there the same time as us (we will be there 4/29-5/7) and would like to use our centerpieces, let me know. You are more than welcome....let me know and I can send or post pics of what they will look like.

    OMG, Jessy!!!! Everything is absolutely amazing!!!! This thread and all of your hardwork is so my inspiration! I, like you, am also having a starfish theme and the light blue colors. I love EVERYTHING!!!!

    I have a few questions for you if you don't mind!

     

    1. Where did you find your MOH and BM's dresses? They are beautiful!

    2. Where did you get your wedding invitations? Did you make them? If so, do you have a template? They are exactly what I am looking for! If you made them, can you tell me what types of paper you used? I'm not the most crafty person! lol

    3. Where did you purchase the mugs? I was going to do water bottles with our logo, but I think it will be better to do those mugs.

    4. Where did you get the cameras? What does the little tag that is attached to them say?

    5. I noticed you put your logo tags/stickers on just about everything. I have a logo we will use, but I'm not sure where to get the tags printed. Did you do it yourself or did you use a printing company?

     

    Ok, I think that's all for now! haha I can't wait to see the final pics! I'm sure when I post all of my final stuff, you will see a lot ideas that came from you! Thanks so much!!!!

    Excursions in the Riviera Maya

    Does anyone know of any fun excursions in the Riviera Maya and if so, the name, email address or the website of the tour company?

     

    I know we can find the typical "swim with the dolphins" and "snorkling" tours, but we want to see if there is anything else available that may be fun for our guests. My FI has been looking into an ATV tour for the guys and that looks pretty good.......Any info would sure be helpful!!!

    Hey girls.....

     

    Ok, so I am having a starfish themed wedding and have been searching for the perfect invitation. However, I still have not found one that I absolutely love. If any of you have found them somewhere or have already ordered some, can you please post a pic, where you purchased them and the approximate cost?monkey.gif
