Hi Nicole,
I am getting married at the Sensatori next Sunday and we had the same issues regarding a photographer. They are now only allowing the select few they contract with to be able to do the photography at the resort. I know they have some (which are really good), but the one I liked was not allowed. Plus, to pay $500 per day is pretty crazy. We decided to bring our own photographer from home and pay for his trip as this was cheaper for us, plus we have him the whole weekend instead of for a couple of hours. Also, since we are doing this he is technically a guest of the resort so they can't charge the $500 fee.
Just have your TA double check for you on an approved vendor before booking....also, the contracted photographers have different pkgs than the silver/gold which is good!
I hope that helps a little.
Thanks,
Tracy

Sophie~ The reviews are probably like Trip Advisor and other sites....there are some good reviews, but mainly people review only when something bad happens. I can say that their customer service was great! I wish some local vendors were that responsive (including my WC). lol Anyway, I'm sure there are some negative reviews, but I was so impressed I had to post my experience with them! I think they did a fabulous job, plus I now have an inexpensive dress I am just going to get messed up anyway with the TTD.

Great find, Christie!!! It will be great for the TTD shoot! I can't wait to see the pics!

Hi Ladies,
I was in the same boat. I found this site and ordered a TTD....it is great and actually really well made. Here's the link to the thread I posted about it....

It all looks so amazing!!!!! I am so excited for you!!! Congrats and I can't wait to hear all about it when you return! Your guests are going to feel so loved and special!!!!

I was wondering if any of you have done the Pixel skin resurfacing and if so, did you like it or hate it? I had it done yesterday and obviously I was not too educated prior to doing it. I thought it would be pretty easy and not too painful because from everything I read that's what it said.
Well let me tell you, my experience so far has sucked! As I said, I did it yesterday and getting it done wasn't too bad. It kind of burned a little (I only did it on my face), but nothing unbearable. After it was over, my face was on fire! It felt like to worst sunburn ever! I looked in the mirror and my face was bright red. I couldn't wait to get home and put a cold, wet cloth on it....even though it was super sensitive to touch!
The hotness wore off by this morning, but was still sensitive. it started feeling like what a typical sunburn feels like after a few days....that tightness, crispy feeling! lol Anyway, I got up and looked in the mirror again and WOW.....I looked like an absolute monster!!! My face was dark red with purplish/brownish splotches all over, not to mention very swollen. I thought I must have had an adverse reaction, but after more research this morning, I guess it's pretty normal. This evening my face still looks way ugly and it feels like I have on a beauty mask right before you wash it off (very tight, dry, hard to move your mouth, etc). Hopefully this goes away soon and the new, fresh skin comes through!!!! I am freaking out since my wedding is in 2 weeks! YIKES! I so hope I don't look like Shrek in my wedding pics!
If anyone else have had this done, please let me knowif you had the same or similar experience and how it all turned out. I would post pics, but I know I would scare all of you!!! lol

Anon-It's near the Premium section. Zavaz Restaurant is right there and one of the beach ceremony sites is on that side of the resort as well. I believe it's right by the gazebo area where people can have their ceremony as well. The old Plaza is to the right of the new one....it's the circular area in the middle of the grassy area. -

I just got off the phone with Tiffany and she was telling me about the new Plaza Deck. Just so you know, it is NOT on the beach. They are making it to look almost like the one they already have, but in a different location. She said she will email me a map of the resort and show me exactly where it will be. I will post as soon as I receive. She said the resort wants to use the plaza deck for the guests...maybe put a cabana, have live music, etc. I guess at first the resort was not going to build a new one, but after all the WC's in Florida complained that they could lose a lot of wedding business, they decided to make another one. I hope this relieves some of the stress for all of you, I know it did me!

I got so much stuff finished this weekend! YEA!!!! Now, it looks like the only things left I have to do are:
Finish the last 2 programs (I ran out of ribbon before I finished)
Pick up my TTD, linens, chair sashes, Guys' ties, etc from seamstress (this Thursday)
Put togetether the onsite WC notebook (I have kept every email, receipt and taken pics of how I want everything and this way they can have a copy or it can be back-up in case I'm told we can't have something and I've already gotten an approval email...just in case!)
Buy my wedding shoes (I still can't find the "one's")
Buy my rehearsal dinner dress
Email our "must have" songs to the DJ
Pack
I think that's about it! I'm getting so excited now! We had our Couples Shower 2 weeks ago and it was a blast! We are having our Legal Day tomorrow.....20 more days!!! WooHoo!!!

Sorry I don't have a pic of me in it. It's super fun and flirty and reminds me of Mexico. I got it in black.
Ooohh....that dress is so cute! I love it! I'm sure you will look amazing in it!!! -
Yes....our Rehearsal Dinner and Welcome Reception/Dinner are on a different nights. I would think that the Rehearsal Dinner dress would be a little more "dressy" than the Welcome Dinner....at least that is what I'm planning! lol

I have searched the forum for a thread like this and couldn't find one....Mods, please move/merge if there is one!
I am still searching for the perfect rehearsal dinner dress and so far, no luck! I am starting to freak out a little since we leave in 21 days! Please post pictures of your rehearsal dinner dress, so hopefully myself and others still searching can get some ideas!
Thanks!!!!

Well, I just decided today on how we are getting EVERYTHING down there! I was planning on shipping my centerpieces, linens, chair sashes, etc to a WC that lives there and she was going to bring them to me at the resort. I went to the UPS store to get a quote on just the centerpieces. It was going to be 3 boxes....not huge boxes, but pretty big. There would be 12 large glass vases.....I was shocked when he quoted me $975!!!!!! He said it wasn't the shipping that was expensive, but the taxes, fee, duties, etc...Needless to say, I came home and called the airlines and found out that we can ship all of our bags and boxes and just pay the extra/oversize baggage fee of $75 per box. That makes a lot more sense to me! I hope that helps!

Directions to Sam's Club grocery store in Playa del Carmen from the Cancun International airport. Exit out of the airport, stay to the right when approaching the highway. Follow signs directing you South toward CHETUMAL and TULUM. About 45 minutes drive will put you in the city of Playa Del Carmen. There are Pemex gas stations along the way. As you approach Playa del Carmen the road median will widen with grassy hills and a large medallion on top of one. By this medallion ("the big coin") the road divides. You want to be in the far LEFT lane. Stay in the left lanes at the dividers. Continue straight and go through several traffic lights until you go down a gradual hill. Sam's Club will be in the shopping center on your left after the Holiday Inn Express and VIPS, and just before Hospiten Hospital. You will not be able to turn there but will have to continue to the "Retoro" and make a U turn. After you make the U turn get in the far right lanes and when you see the ramp for Sam's Club make a right into their parking lot. -
We are going to buy some snacks and goodies for the bags at Costco is Playa. Our bags are pretty much finished except for that kind of stuff, but who knows what we may see and end up buying!
