I'm worrying that she has not responded to me in over a week and I have sent her 2 emails, one just asking her to confirm that she got my email. I gave her a deposit and everything but I'm worried because she isn't getting back to me!
  3. Is anyone using Claudia Rodriguez? I have her booked, and emailed her over a week ago to confirm the price for my package, but she hasn't replied to me. Is anyone else not hearing from her?

Also there is one menu where a dinner is $20 and then a comparable entree on a different menu that is almost $50. If someone could let me know their budget breakdowns that would be awesome. Also if the hotel was willing to negotiate on prices too... Thanks!!! I think you can choose any menu and there is no negotiating from what I have experienced.

I'm worried I'm going to be a pile of mashed bride by wedding day, LOL! That's so funny you say you're getting emotional now because as I was driving to work to day I noticed I was feeling a lot more emotional thinking about the wedding and everything else. Must be because we are getting so close now!

I think it's a great idea as well....you deserve all the celebrating you can get!

I might have to go back to our options (I can't even remember now if we even have something like the Lomas website to choose things from!) oh, and we're also £1k over budget.... holy f/ck! no idea how we're going to pay for things now!! eek! Katie, we are way over budget too. Mostly because in the beginning, just like everyone else, we thought way more was included and all the "extras" that we didn't originally think were extras have put us way over. I'm going to be talking to my parents in the next few weeks asking them for money!
  9. Thanks Amy...that's ridiculous about the vases. Interesting you mentioned the sizes. I got quoted for one vase at $15 but I bet it's super tiny. I should check. It makes me mad that they leave all this information out.

Fondant just tastes so crappy, but at least it looks pretty!

From what I have heard, it doesn't have a fantastic beach. I was disappointed at first, but I think everything else that makes the resort fantastic makes up for the beach.

I may go that route
  13. I really like those floating candles too. What kind of flowers can go in the water? do you put fake ones in? I'm also wondering if the candles will blow out being that high in the holder. They might need to be lower because of how windy it is. I'm gonna look into doing something like that for centerpieces I think. Thanks for all who helped with posting pictures!

I will post some examples of centerpieces I have liked... Those are really pretty but expensive!
  15. What are you ladies all doing for centerpieces? I haven't quite decided what to do yet.
  16. Amy, I agree with everyone else and your BMs BF definitely does not need to be invited. I don't think you need to say anything, and could probably get the point across by just ignoring her comment. That's pretty rude of her, I think.

  18. Meghan's to do's: 1. decide on engraving for wedding bands 2. write thank you notes for wedding shower 3. finish addressing invites and mail out(Finally finished them!!! yay!) 4. sort out wedding cake 5. think about centerpieces

We're nine months out and I'm scared that this is going to scare away our guests when they try to book with them... I noticed you are from Toronto...have you heard of "The Wedding Holiday"? I am using them and they are fantastic. They get great deals to and work a lot with Karisma hotels. You should contact them. Their website is www.theweddingholiday.com. They used to be based in Oakville, but they just moved, I think to mississauga near square one.

I don't really eat cake and I know a lot of people don't eat it (especially since we're probably gonna be doing heavy drinking) but I don't know what to do. I would not get a cupcake for everyone. If you get 60 cupcakes, you are most likely to going to increase your price by 30% compared to getting 40, and I do not think everyone will eat some....maybe not even 40.
  23. Im trying to figure out if I should have a cake or not. Nicole, did the cake taste good that you had? And what kind of icing was it? What is everyone else doing for cakes/dessert?
