I was just looking at your fb photos. Your wedding looks so beautiful and you look absolutely gorgeous. I didn't realize you have a daughter....she is maybe the cutest and most beautiful little girl I have ever seen! How old is she?

I LOVED the cheese cake at the resort and concidered switching last minute, but totally forgot lol... mmmm....cheese cake sounds good. But I bet it is extra to switch. I am going to ask.
  5. Thanks so much for the review! So glad you had a great time I have Tiffany....I haven't had any problems yet with her. Should I be expecting problems when I get to the resort? What kind of problems did you have with her? Quote: Originally Posted by Afrommert I wanted to give my girls a quick lil review before I start working on my long one. First, I used destination weddings.com, and we had a GREAT expirence with our travel agent, Gayle. Please request for her if you choose that company. She has totally been on top of everything the entire time, and been totally honest with us from the begining. Even told us from the get go that Azul sensatori was pricey. (* lol, didn't really believe it in the begining) haha. arriving at as was so cool, got champagne and cold refreshing towels since it was so hot there. They do this for everyone, but you feel like royalty. There was a mix up with our room but they more than fixed it. We first checked into a swim up room. Which was a room off of the lazy river, but was not a swim up. Then we went and complained and requested a PREMIUM swim up room, which is different than the regular swim up. The premium has a jucuzzi right outside your swim up area, which is so fab, because the water is so cold in the pools, So at night you can have a lil after party in your outside swim up. BUT instead they ended up putting us in the honeymoon suite all week long. If you look up the prices for that, you'll know what a hook up this was, so awesome. Wrap around balcony and huge room. We enjoyed every min of it We used our jucuzzi in our room almost everynight. It does take long to fill, but we found things to do while it was running the resort was so nice and the food was amazing. The best part of the trip was the employees there. They are so nice and helpful. Its almost embarrasing how nice they are to you. Carry your plates, open doors, pulling out chairs, puttn your napkin on your lap, just very very good service all week long. The workers dont get paid sh*t there, so they basically live off your tips, so a little goes along way and alot gets you anything you want. If theres something you want. just ask. And ppl there will do work on the side if you really need something. The flower girls dressed ripped and they fixed it for free in less than an hour, and didn't charge me. And it was not a little rip, they re-sewed the entire caroline all the way around. Im so happy I chose that resort and definitly encourage anyone that is thinking about AS to do it. They know what they are doing down there. The offsite team.... well, lets just say if you have Tiffany, I would ask to be switched. She is either way over worked with alot of brides or doesn't know the resort at all. And will be catching alot of heat from my wedding and andreas. (mrs Vaughn) The wedding day went perfect. I don't even know what to say because i truely expected at least a lil something to not be perfect, but honestly, it was perfect ceremony, perfect reception. If anyone has any questions, ask away....

We are getting a cake, vanilla....Mostly just for traditional reasons. I feel like I need one lol. However, we also get a dessert with our dinner (rice pudding or flan...we chose rice pudding), so if people don't like the cake, they will another option.

I think I read somewhere on here the onsite hair dresser only realy could do updos. I have very, very fine hair. When I am in wedding, I usually just have get it blowdry so there is a little bit of body - the last two weddings I was in I had great people that did something more interesting - but it was all them, i.e., I sat in the chair and told them to do whatever they wanted. (Last wedding, the woman seriously played with my hair for an hour). If I get an updo, because I have no hair, I look bald. So, I not sure if I should try to do my hair myself, or if I should plan to have the hotel do it. I just don't want to spend $125 on something that won't work for my hair. Thoughts? I originally wanted to wear my hair down, but I have heard from other brides that it is super windy and hair will blow in your face. For that reason, I am most likely going to have an updo. I have heard that the hair dressers do a good job if you go from one of their ideas as opposed to bringing in a picture of what you want.
  9. I am 5'2, 90 pounds...I am very petit all around, but it is not always a blessing! Girls always want to be size 0, but when you are smaller than a 0 even it makes shopping a pain in the @#$! Amybermuda, that is sooo annoying about the rooms and them saying they are sold out!! What are you going to do? Aw both of you Amy', sound like you had a great valentines!
  10. Amy, your invites are absolutely gorgeous! That must be a huge weight off your shoulder finally getting them done. I finally found some shoes! I hate shoe shopping because I can never find shoes that fit me. I wear size 3 kids....usually can't find heels in that size, let alone white satin shoes! Size 5's sometimes fit, but not usually. I looked all over. I was at the point where I wasn't going to be picky at all....as long as they were ivory, or white satin so I could dye them, I would be fine with them. I found one pair of shoes, size 5 that fit but they were $670! I think they were Jimmy Choos (sp?). Finally got told to go to Celebrations in Toronto and they actually had a couple pairs that fit! I will take a photo of them and post a picture. They are ivory and have a huge heel (I never wear heels cuz I have a bad back and can't usually find heels to fit) but I talked to a shoe maker and he said he can probably reduce the heel, so I might do that. They were $250, so a little expensive, but I dont think I could have found anything cheaper that would have fit. I'm so relieved I finally found some!!

The pasta dish is not on the menu. It is a vegetarian dish. We originally wanted either 1A or 1B from the menu, and that means you just get one meal choice. Since we have more than 5 vegetarians, they told us they would not make that many alternative dishes. So they emailed me to vegetarian pasta dishes that we could get for $11 (that was the price when I first booked...I think the cheapest price is now $12 or maybe even $14). So, instead of having the chicken or pork, everyone is having the pasta option. These were the vegetarian options we were given: 1. OVEN BAKED “CAPPELACCIâ€,STUFFED WITH SPINACH AND RICOTTA CHEESE,ORANGE,TOMATO SAUCE 2. “EL ROYALEâ€PENNE PASTA,WITH SAUTEED SHRIMPS,PEPPERS AND CILANTRO IN TEQUILA-LIME SAUCE We are having the oven baked cappelacci. If you are interested in either of these, I would suggest emailing your coordinator and asking about vegetarian options.

  13. I can't remember who I was talking to about the icing on the cake, but Tiffany emailed me and said the chef will not do buttercream icing for outdoor events because it will be a disaster and look horrible....fondant it is!

So I feel like we don't have a lot of money to spend on all the little things that have such a big price tag... We really want a beautiful wedding and we want to have a great evening after the wedding and just not sure how to plan it with out spending a fortune. I would appreciate any ideas that you girls have. Also, just learning about the photographer policy, cannot bring in outside photogs from Mexico? And it is not cheap to bring someone down for the states, what are you girls doing for photographers? Thanks! Sam Hey Sam, Welcome to the forum! I am having a private dinner, but with the cheapest meal option...$11 for a pasta dish, salad, and dessert. If you have less than 45 people, you can have a semi private dinner at the spoon with no extra cost. Photographer policy is really annoying. I didn't like the photographers the resort provided so I am using Claudia Rodriguez. I booked her before the resort took her off as one of their approved photographers, so I got the $500 fee waved, but I am paying $2000 for her service.

Those are some cute some choices For the garter toss, i really like "she's a lady". I think "don't stop beliving" would be pretty funny, and its a good song. I don't know the other two.

  17. Amy, That sucks about the note things but at least you can make some money off them! I like the Leave a Note part too, but not the mavericks lol For the songs, I forgot to mention that I think we will use Black eyed Peas, I Gotta a Feeling for our first song of the night after our dance.

Wasn't my BM, but good friends of the family said they didn't know if they could come to the wedding because of financial matters, yet a month later they booked a family trip to mexico and just got back lol....I would be furious, especially if they were someone close enough for to ask to be a BM. Hopefully everything goes well with the ring! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
  23. haha good luck with your packing, Amy! I'm sure you will find away with your six bags!
  24. Thanks for posting that link from trip advisor. Always nice to hear more positive reviews!
