  1. Hi Bethany, My HTB and I are getting married at VP in Feb 09. So far, things seems fairly reasonable, but we haven't hashed out all the details. Have you heard back from the staff yet. They have been very accommodating and flexible with us. When are planning to get married?
  2. We looked into Buena Ventura and thought it was a great deal, just close to town and near the malecon. It is being renovated or is done so the upgrades should be nice. We opted for it's sister property - Villa Premeire only because we are having a small wedding. But we are recommending the place to guests who want a more economical option. The wedding coordinator and staff have been great so far, very helpful and accomodating - Susana and Fabiola.
  3. I am looking for a more reasonable priced mariachi or Trio for our reception in PV can anyone give me a contact name and number? Our hotel is quoting us $750/hr.
  4. Thanks! And I would love info and thoughts on Buenaventura. We love the Villa Premeire to stay at but think it might be too pricey for some guests and thought its sister property might be a good option. Also, we are also thinking of the ceremony and reception at San Angel.
  5. Thanks for the reply. I will do more searching...
  6. If I ask someone to stand in my wedding, do I need to pay for their flight and hotel expenses? A long time ago someone mentioned this to me and it;s been in my mind ever since we decided to have a DW. And now I hesitate to have any bridesmaids because I may not be able to afford their travel and mine. More than likely, if I had bridesmaids I probably would let them pick their own dresses, just request a particular color. Any thoughts?
  7. Hola! I'm Ylda and my HTB is John. We are planning our wedding in PV February 28, 2009. He proposed June 14th exactly two years from the day we met for the very first time. The proposal was the most thoughtful and romantic experience and completely unexpected from him---candles and memories of our last two years. It was great! The biggest challenge so far has been figuring who can get us the best rates for all-inclusive, i.e., a travel agent or the the hotel. And do I even need a wedding coordinator if the hotel/resort has one? Well, I've been reading a lot of the threads and so far this site has been helpful. In the last few weeks, we've honed in on the resorts sites we like, but I'm not sure if I want everything in one spot - ceremony and reception and hotel. So, now I am looking at Hacienda San Angel for ceremony and reception but having us and guests stay and Villa Premiere or Casa Velas. Also, I've been getting mixed information about how many days we need to be in PV prior to the wedding for a legal wedding and if I need to visit the resort prior to the wedding? Okay, so maybe I'm a bit overwhelmed. But hopefully we'll get it figured out. Any suggestions or advice would be helpful. Thanks!!
