  1. Welcome! My wedding in Bermuda is coming up at the end of the month. I was just there to make final arrangements and the Island is as beautiful as I remember. Let me know if I can help out with anything, there are a couple of vendors I would defintely recommend. Good Luck!

  3. YAY, so happy to hear that there are other Bermuda Brides! I personally am working directly with the wedding planner onsite at Coco Reef, Tydee Douglas and she is handling mostly everything (catering, flowers, cake, music, transportation). I found a photographer (ernest mcreight), videographer and guitarist for the ceremony on my own (she could have done this for me but I did my own research and found these people who i loved). There are pro's and con's to working with her. PRO - she comes with the place so I am saving a couple thousand by not hiring an outside planner . PRO - she works for Coco Reef so she knows everything about the hotel. CON - because she is the only planner at CR it is sometimes hard to get in touch (especially now when she is in the midst of wedding season) but then PRO - I am somewhat of a control freak so as much as she is the official "planner" I feel like I'm doing most of the work (and dont mind it). We visited the Island last October and loved CR, we went to several places and we felt that it was the best hotel in terms of location, price and services offered. We are also not going through any planner on the ship since we only have 1 event planned (cocktail hour the night before) and nothing wedding related. We are expecting 70 people on the ship with us and another 15 meeting us there. Just like some of you we are just doing food stations but not a formal dinner since all we do is eat on the ship. Really focusing on the drinks and dancing. We are providing round trip transportation to the ship, pre-paid cabbies @ $50each way, 6 people per cab. You defintely dont have to provide this but i think its a nice thing and considerate for all guests. In case you havent been to the Island CR is about 45 minutes from the Navy Dockyard. Hope this helps !! The only thing that I am still looking for is a hairdresser (that doesnt charge over $150) to come to the hotel ... any suggestions? Oh one more thing, the only "complaint" I have with this whole experience is that EVERYTHING in Bermuda is so EXPENSIVE and no one bargains. Oh well, price we have to pay for having such a gorgeous backdrop!
  4. Does anyone know of a good hair and makeup stylist in Bermuda that is not too expensive. Everyone I have spoken to is charging a minumum of $300! HELP!!

  7. I am getting married in Bermuda on 9/22 at Coco Reef Resort .. anyone else out there?? I have some great advice on brides planning and for those in the midst I still have a ton of questions!! Thanks and CONGRATS to all!
  8. No, she is the one that just go married. Its why I'm more offended then usual because I did so much for her wedding. And at the end of the day I really just want to know whether she is going or not. I feel like I have been a good bride and not asking a lot (I'm not having a shower and the bachlorette will be onboard)!
  9. I did my STD through vistaprint.com. the cover of the postcard was 3 beach chairs with the ocean in the background. My fiance and I sat in 2 of the chairs holding hands and the 3rd one as empty. The caption on the bottom said "We're saving you a seat!". On the opposite side was all cruise info and then a pic of us looking back at the camera (same shot from the front) so then people knew it was us on the cover. It was a hit!
  10. Hi everyone - I am having a dillema with one of my bridesmaids and I don't know what to do. Some background... Wedding: My wedding is in 3 months and we are doing a DW in Bermuda, about 97% of our guests will be going to the island via cruise ship with us. The only ones meeting us there can't take the time off or in the case of one of my bridesmaids will have a 4 week old newborn. Financially it doesnt make sense for any guests to go straight to the Island because the same amount will give them a 5 day cruise vacation. Booking has already closed with final balances being paid out the beginning of July. My Bridesmaids: my bridesmaids consist of my best friends since highscoo. 3 of the 4 are married and in each of their weddings it was the same group (give or take a sister or other friend). So when I got engaged it was only naturaly for me to choose my 4 best friends. It is also worth to note that the BM who is giving me issues just got married 3 weeks ago and I was in the bridal party. Wedding was great and me and the other BM's did everything this asked. So, this brings us to my dillema ... one of my BM's has yet to make her cruise reservation or let me know if she is going straight to the Island. There has been NO communication of her attendance, when we ordered their dresses she didnt try them on and until I left several voicemails and emails did she write me back with her measurements and a check in the mail (as all of you know its best to order the dresses at once so the color is the same and she knew she was holding up the process). Still today, I have no idea whether she is coming and from a bigger picture she has given me no support. It hurts me even more because I was there for her wedding and supposedly she is one of my best friends. My other BM's dont really know what to say, they agree that its horrible that she is doing this, but there is hesitency to cut her out of the party since she has been our best friend for more then 10 years. So what do i do? 1. Do nothing 2. Call her on it and then depending on her reaction make a decision Thanks in advance for all your advice!!
  11. Quick question - do you still know someone on the island who can go onsite to do hair and makeup? Everyone I am finding is costing a minimum of $250! Thanks
  12. Congratulations on your wedding! I am right now in the midst of planning my 9/22 wedding at Coco Reef Resort, we are traveling by ship but I am working with the onsite coordinator with all of the details of the wedding. So Excited!
  13. Hello Everyone! My name is Audris and I am currently in the midst of planning my destination wedding in beautiful Bermuda. My fiance and I have decided to a do a twist on the traditional destination wedding so we have invited all of our guests to board RCCL's Explorer of the Seas out of Bayonne, NJ for a 5 day wedding celebration. The actual wedding and reception will be held on the island at Coco Reef Resort, but there will be some activities before and after onboard. We are looking at a 9/20/08 sailing and the wedding on 9/22. So far we have 71 people booked on the ship with a few people meeting us directly on the island! Its been a tough past couple of months planning and we are now approaching our last leg so any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance for your input! Audris
