Take Care, Tania Hey Tania, Just wanted to say thank you for the email contact! I'm now in contact with Grisel and getting my questions answered! Did you book your date? Thanks again! Kim

I think I'm going to go with Dreams Palm Beach, too! Have you been in contact with anyone from the resort yet? I used the wedding contact email and it was sent back to me as undeliverable. Also, the wedding request form on the Palm Beach page went to Dreams Cancun. Please let me know if you've had any luck. Thanks! Kim
  3. Welcome Tania! I'm considering Dreams Palm Beach as well! Of course, it's hard to know much about it since it isn't open yet, but the Dreams resorts are so reputable and I've heard Palm Beach is on a terrific stretch of beach. Plus, the rooms look adorable. I put in a request for a Sept 09 wedding but haven't heard back yet. We'll have to keep each other posted! As far as La Romana, I think I read that you would still fly into Punta Cana and that it's quite a distance to get to the resort - maybe 90 min? I could be wrong...

    EdenH - DR...

Welcome Trish! EdenH looks like an amazing place!
  5. Welcome Esther! Not long ago I was in the same boat as you but now I am pretty close to picking a resort. I always knew I wanted Punta Cana, DR or Riviera Maya, Mexico for economical reasons, and I spent time reading the threads on this site and also looking at travelers' pictures on Trip Advisor to get a better idea of what the resort looked like. I think a travel agent is a must, as well! Congrats and happy planning!
  6. PPR looks like an amazing resort, congrats! I am looking into getting married in PC as well. You can find lots of ideas for planning here...Welcome.

    Hello

Welcome! I am still in my research stages as well, and thinking the same time frame as you.
  9. November was actually my first choice. I've had my sisters pushing for Summer though because of their kids being off school. I thought maybe we could compromise and do Labor Day weekend...hmmm, we'll see! Thanks for the feedback!
  10. Hello! So I've been researching destinations for a couple months and I'm pretty much decided on Punta Cana for our wedding! In particular, the Majestic Colonial. Do any of you Punta Cana brides have tips/advice/pros/cons on choosing summer or Fall? Are there drastic price differences between the summer months and Fall? Also, is it true that September is the rainiest month and should that be a worry? Ideally, I think that's when I'd like to go... Thanks so much for any advice you can give me on choosing the month! Kim

I picked a $250 deductible and my cost per year was like $130 or very close to that. I was happy with it!

    Hello!

Welcome! I plan on getting married in Punta Cana as well, but have not decided on a resort yet. I will have to check out Bavaro Princess!

I am kinda hoping I can find a better deal and a TA that would be a bit more involved!! So tonight I am on a search for local travel agents and crunching some numbers. Does anyone know if it is cheaper to block out some rooms with the resort and then book a charter with the TA? I got my FI and briadsmaids working on finding us a great deal!! lol any suggestions would be great! Thank you for the update! Sorry it didn't go well but maybe it's not that easy to find someone great We just have to keep up the search. Good luck to you and keep letting us know your progress!
  15. Thanks everyone for your welcoming words! I just know this site is going to be so helpful!

One guest from AZ. Yes, please let me know what your TA says! Our situations are so similar - most of my guests will be coming from Michigan, that is where I am originally from.
  17. Hi there! This is my 2nd post as I'm just beginning the stages of researching my destination! Very exciting but kind of overwhelming this is. I really don't have anything narrowed down yet. I know I want all-inclusive, kid friendly resort in the Caribbean or Mexico. (Punta Cana has been standing out to me, and St. Lucia) Of course we want an amazing, beautiful place and would like for it to be a larger resort but want to keep it affordable for our guests - we're thinking not over $1300 per person. (and less for kids - is that how most resorts work?!) Also, we won't have a huge group - maybe 35-45 people. Does it make sense to work with a travel agent for this size group? Are travel agents very helpful in general to scout out locations? Or...Is there a certain Web site or book/magazine that was helpful to you that gave good reviews and overviews of resorts? There are so many places and things to look at! I'm wondering if there is advice or help for this part? Sorry for the long post. But any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you. Kim
