I'm sure that I'll panic in a month or so and think I've done nothing!! How about you - how's the planning?

I was told that they don't do much planning until about 3 months out but it seems like lots of people on this board already have had quite a bit of contact & planning done.
  5. Question for you girls....when are you/did you have your shower? My wedding's in April and I have no idea when I'm suppose to register!

Has she told anyone else here the same thing? It seems too easy to be true and I don't want to go there in Feb and be denied my wedding because I didn't have a document translated when I was supposed to. Please let me know what you think. Thanks!! I just saw a thread about this on the Iberostar wedding board: Worried about the Legal stuff

It's all going to look really good with your dress.

I love the bags, and if we had any more guests I probably would have had to get different ones. A planning thread....very cool, looking forward to it! I'm been contemplating cheating a bit with the OOT bags and mailing them out to my guests about a week or so before we leave so they can pack their own...lol. I doubt I'll do that, but it would make it easier

I have not seen how the pyramid is set up for the wedding, and my main concern is if they allow people in the wave pool during the ceremony. We will check it out and confirm when we get down there, but if we hate it we will probably have the ceremony on the beach. We leave in 1.5 weeks! I can't believe how fast the time goes. I am starting to go into freak out mode because we were trying to pack some more stuff tonight and I think we are going to need to pay for a 5th check bag, or we are going to need to give a suitcase to Mike's parents. Our wedding stuff alone is taking up 3 checked suitcases, and we still have carryon items. I wish we could just ship stuff down to Mexico, it would be so much easier! Oh, that makes sense. I forgot about the wave pool pyramid. It would be so much easier if things could be shipped!! I'm starting to wonder about the packing myself. I don't feel like I have a lot to take down with me, but it all adds up pretty quickly. Are you taking a lot for decorations?

However, if we completely hate the gazebo when we see it in person we will probably have the wedding on the beach as our backup. I will be sure to post pictures and a review either way. I didn't realize that the Lindo had a gazebo. It'll be interesting to find out what it's like. Any idea on how many guests you can have if you have it in the gazebo? You're getting so close Michelle!!

We figure it'll cost us around $15,000 too, but if we had it at home as originally planned it would've been over $30,000 and now we're also getting a weeks vacation...so I think it's a good deal. LOL at the big ass cake comment

  18. Michelle, I was going to email the WC but I thought I'd check with you first. Do you have the different menu options for the wedding dinner for each of the restaurants? I read somewhere that a girl had lobster and filet mignon at the Italian restaurant for her dinner (sounds yummy!).

Are you just telling people that you will be at the bar at a specific time in case they want to meet or doing a private event? We're just picking a bar and giving a start time then people can come and go as they please. It's just an informal way for everyone to meet and get to know each other before the vacation really gets going. My friends did this at their wedding and it was great for everyone to get to know each other & know who was part of the wedding group.

I didn't think it was necessary - I just want everyone to be able to meet. It seemed more casual and easy this way. I didn't plan on bringing the welcome bags - but since a lot of the guests will be on the same flight as me, or get in earlier it totally makes sense! Thanks for the tip! 9 days until I arrive at the Lindo... I just thought handing them out at the meet and greet would be easier than arranging to have them put in the rooms. I'm all about the easy route! 9 Days!!!! How exciting! Are you all ready to go?

We get in a little later in the evening so, after we've all settled in and got our rooms etc., I'm going to have something in one of the lounges (probably lobby bar) for everyone to have some drinks and get to know each other. I'll also hand out the welcome bags etc., at that point. Friends of mine got married in Mexico last year and they did this, it was a great way for everyone to mix and mingle.
  23. This is the info I received from the WC regarding the convention center: "Rental fee 500 us and 6 us per international open bar per person, per hour. This is just for a private cocktail, in the case you are interested in dinner it has a charge for be a PRIVATE dinner. The charge is between 50 to 70 us per person for have dinner there and then extra the open bar. Usually for the private cocktails are just for two hours. Due they have dinner before. Enclosed you can find the menu for the Convention Center, the time is flexible. The open bar is included for 2 hours ( during dinner) after this you have to pay the open bar per person per hour"

I'm pretty sure I want centerpieces, but other than that I think I'll just let the resort do their thing (I'll do the OOT bags, programs etc.).
