I told my seamstress I wish there was a way to have both... like a way to slip in the flesh tone fabric if I do want it for some photos and take it out for just white with others. I'm so indecisive!

I just got a call about my dress. I go in for my first fitting soon! We're still in limbo with part of it. I love this style that's sort of corset looking mesh in the torso (see my bio) but I can't decide if I'm going to like it on me. The bust area is going to be all white. So part of the first fitting is with the dress just pinned together to see if we are going to put a flesh tone fabric or white fabric underneath the mesh. Any opinions?

I think you need to get something you are going to really love. Maybe that's a more expensive wedding ring, or both. Just don't set yourself up for disappointment and be sure to express how you feel. Remember that he can't read your mind so you need to tell him. Once he (and you) know what you want, you'll find a way to work it out.

I'm having my dress made and a 2nd replica dress out of really cheap material just to trash. I don't see anything wrong with it. :-)

I participated in the poll. All I can say is that FI and I are voting different and it's amazing that we haven't strangled each other at some point. I generally don't talk politics as a rule of thumb, and FI can barely keep his trap shut about this election... so it's caused a bit of tension. LOL I'll just be glad when it's all done and over with!

I actually think a lot of people would love it. It would give them something fun to do with dinner/dancing and it would have to be dark/morbid. On the other hand you might lose guests who want the dark/morbid parties... maybe mention that to FH?

I'm jumping in on this conversation. I really think it's 50/50. I've worked as both a model and a photographer.

From a modeling perspective I'd say I prefer a male photographer. There is this thing about women being judgmental that I hate. Most of us remember changing in dressing rooms or locker rooms in front of a whole bunch of women and feeling like they are tearing us apart or comparing us with their eyes? For me personally, I think that's why I prefer a male photographer for modeling. I feel like that males are less judgmental most of the time.

Now, as a female photographer, I can say that for women who are not professional models almost 75% of our clients request a female photographer. For them it's almost the opposite. Having a female photographer is less worrisome to them.

My fiance shoots probably more boudoir than I do over all, but most of them are professional models. The tables just seem to turn when it comes to brides and the general female public. I also think it might depend on where you live though, some states I think women are more conservative than others and in the less conservative places there probably isn't any sort of gender preference about photographers.

The other thing though is that the number of male photographers shooting boudoir is still much higher than the number of female photographers, which I think might be another reason why a lot of the boudoir photography is shot by males. I haven't seen any statistics on that, so I can't say for sure, but it's a thought.

Maybe we should put up some polls on this? I'd be curious what brides would say.

I was just on that site yesterday! We've already decided though that we're going with engraved pocket compasses because they can double as seating assignments.
