  1. I did not know that, Allbap, thanks for sharing. I was married while on a NCL cruise back in January 2009 and now I'm back planning our vow renewal (January 2014)... just getting a little bit of a head start.
  2. Congratulations! I had my wedding at Grand Cayman (we eloped). When we were at the cruise terminal in FL there was another bride getting married before the cruise left and from what I saw, the cruise line was on top of everything. I'm working on a vow renewal (not until 2014)!
  3. I was married while cruising on the NCL Jewel this past January. Our ceremony was on the Grand Cayman Island. It was great. I didn't use TWE (read so many horrible reviews).
  4. It's been a while since I've visited... and I really need to work on my review... but, if anyone has any questions about GOH and cruise wedding, I'm more than willing to help!
  5. Hi ladies! I, too, haven't written my review (nor did I write a planning journal); however, my delay is due to lack of wedding pictures from the photog... but they finally arrived yesterday! So, I am going work on my review... Hope everyone is doing well.
  6. Well, FH and I are in our final week; this time next week we will probably be at some bar/club in Miami celebrating with my closest friend (who we're staying with) before we board the cruise ship (1/1!! Today was my mini wedding shower; few people showed (weather wasn't great, plus it was at least a 2 hour drive for most invited guests) but I still had a great time! I was able to get my nails and eyebrows done (won't need to do that during the week) before the shower. We're still packing and doing laundry; trying to create our mega packing list to make sure we don't forget anything (like the rings!). I still don't know how I want to wear my hair, and I'll probably wing it on the cruise ship, or use their salon. I still don't know what photos I want the photographer to take, except for ones where "Thank You" and "We're/Just Married" in the sand (for thank you notes and wedding announcements). And, I'm thinking I will probably wing this project too. Don't know if I feel ready... for the trip it self; not the wedding. It's kinda surreal to know that we leave in a week. hopefully this 'feeling' is only due to the hormones (for once I am happy Aunt Flow is here)... who knows. Anyway, debating if I should do a planning journal as I don't really have anything to put into it since we're eloping... but, it looks like so much fun! Hope everyone is having a great Saturday night!

  9. Hello Ladies! It's been a while since I've posted (as well); as much as I love Christmas, kinda glad it's over so we can focus on our daughters 2nd birthday (jan 12) and then our cruise wedding! Small updates: Cut about 7 inches of hair off and I still don't know how I want it to look for the wedding Bought a silk orchid for my hair (small), and while I like it - not sure if it's what I want. I am stuck on a hair style. .... 3 weeks until we fly out to Florida and 3 weeks 1 day until the cruise begins. Starting to get excited but not as much as I thought I would be at this point. .... I have a 'fun veil' that I bought off Etsy and I wore it around to... break it in... for the first week I got it
  10. As a GOH bride, I can confirm that they do all the paper work for you so that when you arrive you're all set to get married!
  11. I plan on posting as many pictures and as much detail about GOH and a cruise wedding (even though we're eloping) when we return, in hopes of providing as much information to the upcoming GOH brides and any future brides. 33 days away!!!
  12. How ready is everybody? I'm not as ready as I thought I was! LOL I still have to figure out what hair style I want (I dyed my hair last weekend and just had it cut today); find my 'must take' photo's and compile a list; figure out when/where to get my mani/pedi; find a nice bra for the dress; find a new swimsuit; find water shoes for the shore excursions... and the list goes on. Can anyone share their 'must take' photos? I am so lost in this task. Anyone have plans for Christmas? Ours is going to be low-key; also, my cousin is throwing my wedding shower after Christmas - actually, the week before we leave!
  13. I love telling everyone "next month I'm going to be on a cruise and getting married"!!
  14. It's totally exciting. FH is getting dust as excited as I am (finally)!
  15. I'm cruising with NCL and booked a WC on my own (not through TWE) and we're getting married at The Grand Old House on the Cayman Islands. We chose Cayman Islands over Cozumel due to Mexico's strict requirements for marriage (blood tests, and be a resident for at least 3-4 day prior to ceremony). I can try to help with any questions.
  16. Sorry to hear of the sickness... something has been going around (the boards... lol). I haven't checked-in in a while! I've completed a few things: flowers are ordered and should be here soon (I hope). I am having silk flowers (rules of the ship) made my Jennifer Lynn of Details by J.Lynn and I am ecstatic. I can't wait until they arrive. I bought a locket to add to my bouquet (which was mailed to my 'florist); the locket has a picture of our daughter, who will be 2 by the time we wed, and her birthday on the back. I wanted to include her in the ceremony somehow. I used Alchemy on Etsy and found a person to make a 'fun veil' for me to wear. It's a headband with tulle attached and some glass/crystal beading. I plan on wearing this to the airport, on the plane, and then on the ship up until wedding day (and maybe afterwards too). That arrived in the mail on Monday and I wore it around the house that whole evening to ... uhh... 'test it out'... yeah... that's why... LOL Otherwise, we're just counting the days until we leave for FL and board the ship. We did go shopping last weekend for a while bunch of new clothes for the cruise (and work as well) and I was so excited about the great 'sails' we found! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I've got some cleaning to do before FFIL arrives. He's going to spend the weekend with us and help decorate our Christmas tree.
  17. I'm an NCL cruise bride - sorta. We've set up everything with a private company on the island - our only concern, as mentioned, is not making port.
  18. That's right! Today I found and bought my wedding dress! I bought that exact dress; color and all. Wasn't expecting to buy a red dress for my beach wedding, but everyone - even FH - loved it, so it was bought. P.S. I don't know why I decided to stick my stomach out for the picture. LOL
  19. I'm a cruise bride as well, getting married at the Grand Old House. I've already scanned and emailed the wedding application and paper work to the coordinator (as well as ask a thousand questions to her) about the ceremony and timing; and it's easy as cake. PM me if you have any questions.
  20. The pants were bought from Causal Male XL. Found in the 50% off (or more) clearance section.

Very excited~ I wish I was having a bachelorette party; one of the perks I will miss since we're eloping - but, my friend that is hosting us may throw something (or so he's hinted). I'm looking for a non-formal dress; something I could re-wear for the AHR and any other 'special occasion'. I plan on trying on this dress from David's Bridal: David's Bridal - Bridal Gowns T9473 Satin Halter Trumpet Dress with Lace Embellished Empire Also, it helps that it's only $99!! another one from David's. David's Bridal - Bridal Gowns Y8977 Satin sheath gown with beaded metallic embroidered halter. from Peridress.com (also perimart), I am looking at: Wedding Dress, Watters Style 9008B :: Watters :: Informal Wedding Dresses :: Wedding Dresses, Bridesmaid Gowns and Accessories from PeriDress Bridesmaid Dress Style 210 :: Bill Levkoff :: Bridesmaid Dresses :: Wedding Dresses, Bridesmaid Gowns and Accessories from PeriDress http://www.peridress.com/shop/produc...&cat=0&page=16 and this is the one that I am leaning more towards: http://www.peridress.com/shop/produc...&cat=0&page=10 ... W00t! I just bought FH pants for the ceremony! And, they were only $6.99!! Love the clearance section and a $10 off coupon! and here's the shirt he's going to wear (as soon as I order it): and maybe in a lighter blue. If the dress I choose has a sash or something on it, I am going to get a matching color to FH's shirt.

And, right now I'm more focused on finding the perfect (silk) bouquet. LOL Where are my priorities?
  23. We bought our airfare on Thursday!!! FH and I had a minor fight over the cost of airfare earlier this week; basically, he was more than willing to pay more than $600 for plane tickets and I wasn't (I told him I would rather drive from Maryland to Florida than spend that amount of money). Well, I found the cheapest cost, at $186 per person, round trip, totaling $372. And, one of my best friends live near Ft. Lauderdale (where we're flying in) and has offered us his home until the cruise ship leaves, so that saves us some money on taxi's and hotel!! I still need to find a wedding dress and FH outfit...
