  1. Hi Karla, Thank you for remembering that I am interested in a beach wedding!!! I'm so glad you gave me the measurements for the runner, as I want to buy petals to cover the entire runner he he I am also happy to hear the runner is sturdy for my high heels. Do you happen to know where the carriage stops in a beach wedding ( I am assuming you can use the carriage for the beach wedding as well right?) Thanks for your help!!! PS I also loved the calla centerpiece you used in your ceremony
  2. KLO, I am so glad your wedding was a fairytale!!!!!!! I loved your bouquet and dress. You looked so pretty I loved your pictures, did you take any pictures of your reception? I would love to see those if you have any. Again, very happy for you! Love Rosie

Does anyone know of a post office type place or anywhere close to the MP we can ship things - like our favors and welcome basket items - to? I really don't feel like checking so much extra luggage. Thanks! I'm an April 2009 bride too so been getting a little nervous about the luggage situation. If you have an outside photographer in Mexico, maybe you can have stuff shipped over to them and have them bring it to the resort? Other than that I have not come up with good ideas....
  4. Hi all, For those of you still waiting to hear about what the cost of lighting is for outside receptions, the cost is $150.00 in addition to the DJ/music equipment. HOWEVER, the outside area DOES have lighting, the additional lighting is if you want light directed towards the dance floor etc...
  5. I have two sisters, and one best friend. So I made my two sisters MOH, and my friend a bridesmaid. So it doesn't get weird, they all have different dresses but in the same color.
  6. Ok, so I've been debating what kind of bouquet to choose.... need your help. IF it helps at all in making your decision, here's what is going on....My colors are light blue and white and using pink roses as touches. I will have hot pink pomanders in the chairs lining up the aisle and pink petals in the aisle. I will also have pink roses as center pieces. My shoes are going to be white, my dress is going to be all white. The wedding arch is going to be decorated in white linen. So my question is: 1. Should I have a hot pink rose bouquet? http://www.rosesbydesign.co.uk/prodi...bouquet_sm.jpg OR 2. A white calla lily bouquet? http://www.origami-agency.com/wp-con...08/07/lily.jpg 3. A white calla lily bouquet with white roses?

They are fairly simple. you'd just get whatever size styrofoam ball that you want. Pick out some ribbon. Run a dowel through the styro ball and then feed your ribbon through and tie at the bottom. Then pick whatever flowers you want and cut them put a little glue on the bottom and stick them in the styrofoam ball until its covered, and voila! Hi, Thanks for sending me the info! I contacted the person in the first link to see if they can make it for me. I thought about making my own, but I think that would be too stressful as I already have other DYI projects going... Lets see how this goes, if not I may have to make them!!!
  8. Hi everyone, I'm looking for silk pink kissing balls/pomanders that are really cute. I have found some but the flowers look very separated, I am looking for kissing balls that have flowers placed really close together and look real. I liked this one on ebay, but is sold out (and they can't make them), and I am trying to find a replacement 8" Wedding Silk Flower Hot Pink Rose Ball Decoration - eBay (item 220273704401 end time Nov-24-08 06:15:25 PST) Any help is much appreciated.

  10. Hi everyone, my wedding is April 11, 2009. I am currently 133 and want to lose 10-15 pounds prior to the wedding in order to fit into my dress. I was doing well, and had lost 5 pounds, but I gained them back because I got sick and wanted to eat to feel better. I am really happy to have found this thread! my current diet is the following: 1. eat 1 pc of toast and coffee in the morning 2. eat salad for lunch (.4 on the scale at the salad bar) 3. eat salad for dinner (and one truffle here and there) The salad thing can get boring, but I have different kinds of dressings, I switch from romaine to spinach, i add fruit sometimes, and i switch the protein (sometimes shrimp, sometimes chicken, sometimes steak, salmon etc).... The problem in during weekends when I am socializing more so now with holidays etc. I hope that I can eat less and work out more.

Hey KLO, I know you have been debating between beach and gazebo wedding, but I think that whatever you chose will be great. I can't wait to see your pictures and hear all about it. Hope you have a stress free beautiful wedding!

Maybe she's not getting my emails for whatever reason...but if she's just not responding that's unacceptable to me. I have no idea about the music though...one of the questions I sent to my WC three weeks ago... Joy - how long did it take del sol to get back to you? I sent them an inquiry last week and got an email stating they were out of the office a lot and would try to get back to me in 3 to 5 days... I wanted Elizabeth Medina as well and she was booked for my wedding, but it ended up working out because my first choice which was Del Sol photography was available. I had contacted cecilia and she never e-mailed me back. It is my understanding that cecilia costs less, but I think Del Sol and Elizabeth's pictures are better. Juan Carlos Tapia is also a great photographer but he is VERY expensive, even more so than Del Sol. Yes you can bring an outside photographer as long as they are your guest (i.e. staying there or if you pay their day and night pass) Hope this helps! Rosa

I think it's probably been about a month since I last signed on. Everything is good, I've just been super busy. I picked up a part time job at the beginning of the summer. It started otu to be for extra money, but turns otu we actually need the money so I've been picking up as many hours as possible...my part time job has turned into a full time job. On top of that, I have my regular full time job, which has gotten very demanding and has not been paying me what he should be paying me, but still expects top notch work and complete availability (I work from home). It came down to it last week when I basically told my boss that if he's paying me part time I'm going to put in part time effort. He does understand and agrees, but, we'll see..... I was also very blunt with him about my financial situation and needing to work 2 jobs. I've also looked into Bankruptcy. The lawyers were pushing me to file before we got married (which does make sense). I started the ball rolling then realized it wasn't the right option for me. It was a VERY stressful few weeks! I contacted my major credit card companies and they are working with me as far as payments and interest rates and I've set up a strict budgette...as it turns out, I'm not doing as bad as I thought I was. We went to mexico at the end of Sept., It was wonderful! Rained the whole time we were there, but we still went snorkling and had a great time. Also got to see where we'll be getting married adn stuff. I picked out flowers and other little things. I picked up my dress on Tuesday and our Invitations officially went out on Thursday. I did everything with no help from FI, so it took a while and all of my free time. On top of that, I am trying to keep up with the house (at least the laundry) and keep the two dogs out of trouble...a hard task! FI has started pitching in more around the house, he's been keeping up with the kitchen and bathroom cleaning. FI started a new job a few weeks ago. He used to work as a mechanic for DSNY (Department of Sanitation New York) but was provisional (could get let go if there were "cut backs"). He took the test to become permanent and DOT (Department of Transportation) called him for an interview and offered him a job. After his "Probation" period (about a year), he'll be permanent (they'd need an actual really really good reson to fire him, not just "cut backs"). My Bachelorette party was this past weekend (we figured to do it before the holidays started). We rented a house and did a wine tour on Cayuga Lake in NY, it's one of the finger lakes. We had an awesome time!! I promis to try to make more time to get on here. I've just been spread pretty thin lately. I miss you all and I can't wait to catch up on at least some of what I've missed...35000+ posts are a LOT to read LOL...hmmmm, maybe I'll slack off today from the job that doesn't pay me right and just hang out with you ladies I promise to some pics as soon as I can! <3 Dez I am so glad you are ok!!! I was worried you weren't getting married anymore, or that you had changed the resort...ohhh lordy....we missed you on the moon palace thread! Can't wait to hear about your wedding details and reviews! Love, Rosie

  15. Amduran, Thank you for your detailed review. I am very happy to know the freeze dried petals worked. I look froward to your pictures!

That is the only picture I have seen of the beach wedding and in fact is the sample used by Moon Palace for a beach wedding, that decoration costs $850.00...I don't know if it even is a real wedding or set up for purposes of a sample....... I would like to call mexico and find out about whether the high heels would work on that runner he he

I know it won't be easy but since there's a runner...I guess I'll survive =) Hey KLO, from the pictures I saw of the runner for the beach wedding (brown colored runner), it appears to be sturdy...however, I don't know how sturdy. I plan on wearing high heels and have altered my dress with the assumption that I will be able to wear high heels. Your wedding is before mine, so I hope that you can give me your opinion once you are back about how sturdy it was... etc... I have not seen pictures of a beach wedding at the moon palace, so if you come across any, please forward them to me. I would also love pics of your beach wedding... HOW EXCITING!

Thanks, Mexico is very relaxed about the clothing at restaurants near the beach...I highly doubt he will have a problem because of his sandals....you can go by the restaurant sometime before the dinner and check out the restaurant to find out straight from the source. Anyway, good luck with your wedding!!! we would love to hear all about your wedding when you return

The beach wedding is more expensive than the gazebo by $250-$1000 depending on the decorations you choose with the resort in addition to any other decorations you are interested in... Like you I am interested in a beach wedding...and I can't wait to get it...even if it is more expensive than the gazebo.

  21. Does anyone know how long the aisle runner for the beach weddings is I want to know how many cups of freeze dry rose petals to buy (I want the entire aisle runner to be covered because the brown color of the beach aisle runner is not pretty). Thanks for your help!
  22. I'm having my reception at the terrace venado. The terrace venado is actually not listed on the map LOL So i called mexico and they told me that the terrace venado is near the nizuc/grand moon side all the way to the right of the map past the terrace tucan. The terrace venado is very pretty, right in front of the ocean, my only concern was whether it would be too small for my expected 60 guests. I would have liked some room for a lounge etc.... By the way, have you obtained a price on a lounge set up? Quote: Originally Posted by HaleGrifa Hello - Can't believe that it is 3 months this week!!! Our trip is in Cdn dollars. My WC is Kalena - I was given her name a few weeks ago. I contacted her via phone and we chatted for a bit - she is very nice. I just sent my email and Wedding Event Info form in this morning. I am keeping my fingers crossed that she will begin to work with me. We just put our request in for the self-dj option for four hours. I have asked about lighting . . . We are also completing the CD for the ceremony. Decor - I will determine once we arrive - I just want to reserve our locations and take it one request at a time. Chat soon Laura
