I agree with Jason, everything south of Cancun is Riviera Maya (though not officially, but unless you have a geography teacher in your wedding, noone will care) and Moon Palace is not in Cancun. Plus its not like your guests will get confused by the RM refence and get lost or something. I would put RM on you STDs.

Hey Nicole, I am so excited to see your flowers, they're going to be awesome, I'm so jealous, I wish I could just do that and get it over with, but gotta make mom happy. How are you doing? I'm getting so nervous, I'm so afraid I'm going to forget something, even though I have lists for everything. On the other hand, I wish it was closer, so I could just pack and get it over with.Quote:

I would ask my WC, but she is checking on something for me right now, and she is so scatterbrained, I hate asking her more than one thing at a time. When she gets back to me with my stuff, I will ask. If you have a FL contact, try her, I got all my decor information from mine, the WC does not seem to know much more than the Florida people.Quote:

My WC gave me the contact information of the decorating company they use, i guess the hotel doesn't have colored linens or other items, they go throug this guy: Aldo Ameneyro, [email protected]. I started dealing with him, but decided we wanted to do our own decorations (nothing he did, I'm just getting incredibly cheap in my old age). He seemed really nice and helpful.Quote:

Hey girls, especially Melissa, since you're getting close too,
What are you doing for flowers? The free flowers offered by the hotel are not that great, so I'm wondering what everyone else is doing? I know Nicole is buying those "real touch" something flowers, they look really good. I might just end up paying for extras, but wondering about everyone else.
And welcome to all the new girls, its nice having lots of people and opinions.

For gifts, my FI has been on an "experience" gift kick for the last few years. Instead of gifts he liked to give experiences. For example, his dad is into airplanes, so for father's day we got him a glider flight session. What does you DH like, maybe there's an experience that goes with it. I also like Dez's idea, do a spa day and follow it up in your room, get the kids off to a different room for a night. -

I'm so excited, and ready to go. We are doing the superior package and will be having our ceremony at the Tucan Gazebo and reception at the Lake Terrace. I have a bunch of my information posted on the Moon Palace thread, I'll see you there.Quote:

I am amazed at how much strategy went into the this, I thought people just showed up and grabbed stuff. These girls had matching outfits, signs and assigned duties, crazy. The one thing I learned from a show is make sure you bring really aggressive friends, everyone pushes and fights over dresses, you need girls who are willing to fight for you (that sounds weird even as i write it). Let us know how it goes, I'd love to hear more about it.

I think this is cool, I love how happy everyone looked in the pictures, love that there are so many people there to support them (especially the picture of one of the brides' old mother right there with them), so cool. I was watching a video on CNN about some guy who disrupted a wedding to protest it, I'd get so mad if someone tried to stop my wedding, stupid ugly people.

I loved the website, but unfortunately my fake flowers idea got nuked in a hurry. My mom is a floral designer and is having a huge issue with not being able to make flowers for my wedding (she keeps wanting to go to markets in cancun and get flowers to do all arrangements, but i want to just relax and enjoy my time there), so she freaked when i mentioned the flowers. She loved the looks of the bouquets, but she has her heart set on at least ordering the florist around. The flowers on Ebay look great, I saved the pictures from the site to show my florist, but you're right, their flower costs really do add up fast. I would totally do them if it wasn't for mother.Quote:

I feel terrible, but I have no questions to ask my WC, i'm in a planning drought, can't think anything that needs to be done, though I'm sure there is so much to do still. I think I'm burned out becuase of our guest issues. So if anyone has questions, I can ask, that way I'll feel like I'm doing something and making my WC work. -
Thank you for the list. I'm at four weeks out and while I have most of the stuff done, I feel like I'm forgetting something. Your list helps so much to get me organized (its nice to have something new to look at since I have mine memorized). Thank you for keeping me from doing this

Our hotel recommends them and has their link on its website. We registered with them and have redeemed some of the presents, no problems.

Right now the planning is kind of at a stand still. I am waiting for my WC to contact me again and still have flowers, OOT bags, gifts, music etc to purchase and plan. I know it will all work out. We do not have nearly the planning that you and all the other new brides have to do. I wish I did, but I am 20 years too late on that one. I am just going to buy all my centerpieces in Cancun from the resort. I do not feel like dealing with all that. Lucky for me, I bought my airline tickets far enough in advance that I still get the two bags per person and we have 6 traveling together. I think everything that I need to buy will still work out that way. Still a pain trying to figure out how it will all be packed, but thats okay.....
We get therer on the 22nd and stay until the 30th. Our ceremony is on the 26th - I would love for you guys to come if interested. After all, You can see what you can do in 20 years!
We're having a cocktail party the night before (we're calling it rehearsal, even though its not). It will be at 8pm on the 22nd (Happy Early Anniversary and Birthday, in case I forget later, I have a feeling with this wedding I might not remember my own name soon) on the Tucan Terrace, next to the Tucan Gazebo (Nizuc side). Our ceremony is the next day at 4pm at the Tucan Gazebo (I'm hoping having the cocktail party there will help people not get lost the next day). I would love to have you and your husband stop by. I think we are doing Xel-Ha all day on the 26th, but if not, I'd love to hide in the bushes and watch your ceremony.
As far as planning, I am also at a stand still. We still dont have a final head count and are having some major issues with guests, so I'm not really motivated to do anything until that's all resolved. Plus there's not much left to do, I'm not entirely sold on carrying stuff in the box either, we'll just to keep looking for options.

I just bought another dress for dinner and the fijian ceremony that happens HOURS after the wedding ceremony...

I'm so sorry about the ring, hope you find it. I always lose things when I try to put them somewhere "safe." I bought a little nightie thing from Frederick's for our wedding night and it came in this tiny little baggy. I had the baggy in my underwear drawer, but then got paranoid (like my FI would ever go through my drawers) and rehid it in my shoe box for safe keeping. Well I then decided I didn't like the shoes and returned them to Dillard's. Didn't realize the nightie was still in the box until yesterday (two months later) when I tried to remember what my "safe" hiding place was. So someone at Dillard's got my negligee and the shoes. I think I mentioned this before, but one of the wedding coordinators in Mexico told me that the justice of the peace or minister will not read anything that we give him and that he will only say a poem for us and do our vows.
I was recently assigned Nancy Ariza, so I will ask her if that is true or not.
If anyone happens to find out sooner, please let me know. Thanks!!

I read that a few weeks ago and contacted my WC, Cristina. I sent her a copy of my sand ceremony and asked if the JP would read it and she said yes, no problems. Not sure what is going on.
