  1. Congrats to ThefutureMrsBrown! Nice to have you! Goodtoglow, It CAN be done! I know of a Easter Sunday Sunrise Service that has done just that! I will tell you, it is not set up in the typical location where most of the weddings take place, but it surely can be done! As for chairs, maybe you could do fewer chairs and some people stand? Might help with the cost and just a thought, not all people like to sit. Good luck and hope you are able to pull it off!
  2. Congrats to all of the noobies! This thread has been ongoing for so long and it is fun that it keeps on going on! Westxgrly, E-mailing WTIW won't be a problem at all. Tina tries to respond within 48 hours or you can try during your lunch break. Often the girls are in the office late, so feel free to give them a try!
  3. shakeimap, Thank you very much for clarifying that Weddings the Island Way is NOT the wedding coordinator who responded to you like that. What they said to you is very unprofessional. I hope that everything works out for you. BethGrubb, My suggestion is to have your wc set this up for you! Happy Planning and Congrats!
  4. Hi Scubadiva, She can't be using Weddings The Island Way, because Tina nor owner Erica would ever say something like that! Something was taken out of context or something, that is for sure! Hmmm, wonder what this is all about? Shakeimap?
  5. shakeimap, I don't know who you are using, but I would be concerned about them saying that they don't feel like working! You may want to reconsider who you are using! There is no reason for you to have much difficulty reaching them at this time of year, yes, there are busy days, but it is also a slow time with nothing doing! tiffanyan02, Going through the hotels is much costlier than going through a wedding coordinator off property. Do your research first! Also, no 3rd parties to get involved. Hope this helps!
  6. Scubadiva, What a nice surprise! Excellent news! How are plans going so far? I hope you plan on diving while you are in the islands! I got certified last Summer and I am loving it! Congratulations!

I made some comments on cc and it didn't go over too well so I'm basically just shutting up and hoping for the best... And when i doubt I handle it myself. I also had her draw me up a contract. She said she's only done them like 3x in all her years of planning, but... I just like to have all my duck in order... I'm sure my wedding will go off w/o a hitch... and if not I'll just get drunk hahha. Hi there Prettyhazardous, I am sure your wedding will go off without a hitch! I just wanted to let you know that all wedding companies can possibly have more than one wedding a day. This truly is not a problem. Any wedding company simply has to plan their day out accordingly! Also, many companies have several coordinators as well as Minister's, photographers, etc. Not to worry! Sit back and enjoy!

  9. Hi LaCandleNY! No need to get married in a public situation at all! There are many wedding companies that offer private settings as well! Places like Botanical Gardens, a private villa that you might decide to stay at, or Garden Terrace, and more. Your Coordinator can help with the perfect sight for you! For the record, all beaches are public in the US Virgin Islands, so if you want a beach wedding, there would be no guarantee that there won't be someone else there! Happy Planning!
  10. Hi Petunia! How are you? How is your wedding planning going? yomie13, We use East End Flowers and they do an excellent job, I am always impressed! If you go with a wedding planner, they will arrange all of the vendors for you! Let your WC know what you want and let them do the work! Happy Planning!
  11. brookedanielle, Where in upsate NY? I am from outside the Ithaca, Corning area! Bellagio is a very unique house and has some history behind it! Wow, nice pool and even tennis courts! Happy Planning!
  12. mddugas, The sailboat scene, beach scenes as well as them being in the four poster bed with the mosquito netting all took place on Water Island which is in the Harbor of St. Thomas! Very nice scenes! I was actually looking for those scenes as I knew that they had done some work here. Waited a LONG time for the movie to come out! Tho I knew about the Momma's Boy show, I missed it! Got the press release after I had ck'd my e-mails that day. Bummer! Hear it is a silly show, but cool that they came down to do some of it!

  14. This is a picture of a wedding I did on Magens Bay! Will post more as soon I can!
  15. Jessica, Thanks for sharing! They used Villa Banana as one of the locations as well and I believe that the show on the 19th will be hosted in STX. I have a press release about it if anyone wants to see it, just PM me! (I believe I saved it)! lol! Also, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button has some scenes from STT!!!! I enjoyed this movie! Tho it sounds juvenile, this is not a child's movie at all! Thumbs up!
  16. Ck out: Caribbean Villas of McLaughlin Anderson Luxury Villas Virgin Islands If you have any questions about any of the villas you see in STT, I will be happy to answer them for you! I do agree that a villa can reduce costs for all of you! Hope you find what you are lookin' for!
  17. Certainly your request can be done! It is much less expensive to get married here in STT than it is in the states! jillhigginsphotography has a great idea in that renting a villa might be the way you want to go! Try Caribbean Villas of McLaughlin Anderson Luxury Villas Virgin Islands As for staying and getting married in STT, the hop over to STX requires a flight, so that part might not be an option. You CAN however, go to St. John, and to the BVI very easily from STT!!!!! Just a day sail away!
  18. First, Congrats to erinbride2010 and darkblue! Petunia, somehow I missed your post requesting pictures for weddings I've done at different locations. I am so sorry! I will get right on it!

  20. Nice to hear the reports! younmebabe, I have worked with Eric Johnson many times and also LOVE his work! He truly is excellent! He is always my first to recommend when someone is hiring an individual photographer! KUDOS!
  21. Ashley, I did two weddings at Lindquist in the past couple of weeks and there was hardly anyone there! You WILL love it! Petunia, Thanks for the link for the reviews, that will be cool to ck out. See you in August!
  22. Island Lover, The company I work for suggests Freedom Travel, if you can't find them by doing a search, PM me and I will get you the link! There is someone with your name on the vinow.com forum, is that you? This is a place that you can find great information on airfares, etc. You would enjoy it! Airfares are also going down right now....that is good news!
  23. Happy New Year everyone! Hey Petunia, When is the next time you will be here? Will it be when you get married? I am hoping we can get together for that cocktail we were talking about! Airfares are down right now, and weddings are far less expensive to the traditional wedding in the states! You can get married here, and have your honeymoon for far less than the cost of staying home and being overwhelmed with all of the details! One thing I am surprised about is that I don't see trip reports on the forum. How cool to hear about how wonderful your wedding experience was after the fact. This is a great way of letting others know what they thought of their wedding coordinator, photographer, wedding sight, hotel or villa, the island, and so much more! So ladies, fill us in!!!!!! I had the pleasure of taking one of our brides to her villa and spoke with her many times during her stay, I didn't get to do her wedding, but enjoyed meeting her! Anyway, All my best to all of you and Sea-Suns Greetings and Smooth Sailing for 2009!!!!!!
  24. Congratulations Kelsey! This thread just keeps going and I think that is kinda cool! Yes, you are right, the month of Sept. is the peak of our Hurricane season and there is no way of telling if we would get hit or not. It is the slowest month for visitors for sure! But, we do have people come down! I remember seeing a wedding on TV where the couple went thru Hurricane Marilyn and they still got married (no showers, etc) on the roof top of one of the hotels. They sure had a story to tell! I'd dare say tho, that if something like that happened, your wedding would still go on! Do you have plans as to where you want to stay? Plenty of options there as well! Hotels of course, but villas are pretty nice as well. Have fun planning that wedding!
  25. Hi Melissa, I have been wondering about you and how your planning is going! How's it going?
