Hi TC! Congratulations! I'm in Ottawa too and am thinking about Jamaica for our wedding also. I would love to hear about your plans, how it has been working with the resort, and especially which travel agent you used. I'm in the process of finding one. Did you consider any other resorts in Jamaica? What made you choose this one? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just having a hard time figuring out how to decide on a resort. Hi! I'm in Ottawa too and am thinking about the Dominican for about the same time of year in 2009. I was also hoping for a much lower price than what you've been quoted. Especially if you're having so many guests! I was thinking that $1500 to $1700 max was what I would want to ask my guests to pay. Are you working with a travel agent? Which one? I haven't been to one yet (besides picking up brochures), but am about to start "interviewing" them. I met one TA at the Wedding Palace bridal fair in January that seemed like she would be helpful and knowledgeable, but she's in Gloucester and I'm out in Kanata, so that might be a bit too much travel if I have to meet with her very often. Although I guess a lot of it can be done on the phone or over e-mail. Anyways, maybe we can help each other out on this or share some information. ~Lindsay

Has anyone ever looked into Margarita Island in Venezuela for their wedding? The only reference that I can find on the forum is to the fabulous beaches. I've seen a few resorts listed in a travel brochure and the prices look really good! If anyone's ever thought about, I'd love to chat with you. Thanks! ~Lindsay

Hi! I'm Lindsay and I'm new to the forum. I just got engaged almost 2 weeks ago and know that I absolutely want a destination wedding. From having a little look around, it seems like I'm in the right place. We don't have a date but we're thinking next winter, maybe November 2008 or into late January or February 2009 (although I don't think that I can wait that long). Not sure of the location yet either, so any suggestions are welcome. Anyways, I'm hoping to find lots of ideas here. ~Lindsay
