  1. The lyrics sound great. But I have to confess, I have never heard of this song before. If you don't like the sound of it maybe you could check to see if someone else remade/rerecored it.

Remember Dolly Pardon sang "I will always love you" before Whitney Houston, but it was made famous by the way Whitney sang it (and of course the movie).

I think it's great your dad took the time to pick it, but if he doesn't mind maybe you could have it recorded by a friend who can sing. I know it's a stretch but it's a thought.

  2. I come for the pictures!!popcorn.gif

I have to agree, I like the pictures. And as soon as I finalize my wedding plans (arghh!!!), I hope to post some pics. I think we can all agree the web has become 'a dangerous place' but it is one of the best 'inventions' of the last century. The fact that the brides on here are 'willing' to post pics of themselves and their families for others to see and get ideas is short of amazing. Thank you ladiessmile03.gif

Will your guest know before they get to the ceremony that you have already legalized the marraige?

Anybody doing the opposite? Getting married legally after they get back?
  5. I would have to say JoAnn's for fabric also. But make sure you sign up for their emails to get on their mailing list and email blast. They send 40 to 50% off coupons all the time. (Only good on reg. price items) I was there this weekend and all upholstery material was on sale 40% off, didn't check the other material, but probably the same. I never buy material without a coupon or sale. Sometimes the saleperson will let you use more than one coupon per transaction.

Also, J Crew has bridesmaid dress that are a little different, only thing is when they are on sale, I think they can't be returned if they don't fit.

  6. What about one of the baby washtubs? You could get an inexpensive one and spray paint it in one of her wedding colors. Just make sure she knows it's painted so she doesn't try to use it for a baby.

Is the wishing well for cards? Why not cover one of those large hat boxes in her colors with felt or silk from the fabric store. Then you could cut a slit in the top for cards. I saw this somewhere, if I find it I will post it.

Or very whimsical...maybe you could make the hat box like a powder puff to play on the toiletries theme. Ok, don't get me started. I should be working.

It is 1 point/cup (makes 15 cups) and is also core:

    1 large onion chopped
    a few garlic cloves
1 package taco seasoning (I used Lawry's "Hot" taco seasoning packet)
2 cups whole kernal corn (frozen)
1 can fat free chicken broth (or Veg. broth))
    1 can black beans undrained
1 can kidney beans undrained or great northern beans undrained
1 can fat free refried beans
    1 can diced tomatoes
1 can spicy seasoned tomatoes - like tomatoes with jalapenos
    cooking spray
salt & pepper to taste (you may not need it)
    2 stalks chopped celery

Saute the onion and crushed garlic until soft in a LARGE pot sprayed with cooking spray. Add the other ingredients to the pot and simmer for 30 - 45 minutes.

I LOVED it and it was so filling. I had 3 bowls (1 cup each) and for 3 points I was SO full. Fantastic!

Are you sure this is only one point? It is so good. I made it for the girls for the superbowl but all the guys were eating it over the other 'reg.' chili. I passed the recipe along to all my friends and family. I did add 1/2lb lean turkey and a little low fat cheese on top. It makes so much we froze some of it and it makes perfect quick lunch. Thanks so muchsmile03.gif

I may try the cupcakes for Valentine's Day

Just FYI...Check out the thread with the bride who had her e-ring stolen from The Majestic. Also TA Tammy mentioned she doesn't push Majestic because of there customer service.
  9. Congrats and Welcome. I was considering St. Lucia because there seems like so much to do, but I think we are going to save it for our honeymoon. We looked at The Landings by rock resorts. It's new and they are offering specials, but it's a condo/owner hotel and only the first phase is complete. The rooms look great. They all have full service kitchens. And would be great for families because with the specials a 2 bd room unit comes out to about 100/pp. I would contact the TA( I think Jill) that is the St. Lucia specialist on the BDW site. One of the flights we looked at had a lay-over in PR for 7 hrs which could have been fun, but it means getting to St. Lucia at 11:00pm. A TA might be able to work it out so your guest can stay in PR for a day and go to St. Lucia in the morning. Good Luck.

We opted to go with the Manuel Antonio area because it better fit my FH's idea of "Costa Rica jungle". Where in Guanacaste are you looking? Have you been down there? If not, I highly recommend a trip down to scout around. It is so much easier when you can actually picture what it looks like and how the logistics will play out.

Our photographer (Eduardo Lopez) is $2200 for the day. The price includes a second photographer for the whole time, 8x10 prints of the best 20 pictures, and a DVD of all pictures taken (all digital). The best part is that we get all reproduction rights to the pictures as opposed to paying them to do prints. This is fairly standard outside of the US. US photogs make you go through them to get more prints and it can cost a fortune!

Also, check out our web site Wedding Website - Cheryl & Will ... we're continuing to add a lot of information about CR.

    Hi Cheryl,

Thanks for the info. FI and I really wanted to do Costa Rica because we (and most of our guest) have never been. And there seems to be so much to do. Unfortunately, (but right before the save the dates went out) TA calls to tell us the airfare to Liberia has gone up to 945.00 per person from Chicago. No one has charter flights to CR, they are all scheduled? Days after I recovered from the news we are now looking at less expensive options. We were going to stay at the Paradisus, but I also got info on the Four Seasons. The trip was too expensive for only 3 days and long hours traveling. We were flying into the Liberia airport so we would only be about 45mins. away from the resort. If we were flying into San Jose they would have had to fly from Chgo then overnight in FL, to catch that first flight out. Delta had some connecting flights but folks wouldn't get to the resort until the late evening. I guess we will just have to go by ourselves. In the meantime, I will have to live vicariously through you and baybug. Arghh!!!
