You've done an amazing job! Oh my goodness, now I'm in panic mode to get even half of what you have done for my wedding in a month & a half! Great job!

I agree, its mainly bc my guests cc for the reservations are suppose to be ran today, so if we want to make changes best to do it now b4 those get run. Plus, its more picking if we want to wait it out & take the chance the other resorts wont have rooms available or changing now for peace of mind i guess i don't know what to do!

Does anyone have any opinions on these for us switching from DT? I heard the Barcelo's aren't that great except for this Mayan Palace one is only about a year old & really nice? Our TA would like us to decided TODAY, so I'd love input.

Thanks Tammy...yeah my TA just emailed me saying that "Dreams is now not accepting new guests through October 31, 2008.

They told me they are making legal progress, but they may tell us what they think we want to hear!"

So that has me a bit confused on what to do? Our guests payments are due today & will be processed & show would like me to decided TODAY whether I want to move or not (to Barcelo?), but I don't know what to do!

Okay, so here's what I just got from my TA..who is actually down on a site visit in the RM....

"Laura,

At this moment, Apple Vacations has moved all guests that are arriving to DT through a November 12th arrival date. Barcelo Maya Palace is one of the properties where they have moved guests. While they are telling me they anticipate resolution and reopening of Dreams Tulum by October 15th, its more of a waiting game right now."

Nov. 15th!!!!!!! I am assuming for now that is just brides who booked with Apple Vacations, but hopefully some other forum TA that work with Apple can confirm or deny this??

Thanks for the update! I'm the wedding 2 days after you at DT, if it reopens! Keep me updated on what your hearing & thinking of doing since were so close in dates. What a mess, huh? Who ever said DW were easier...maybe if I hadn't picked the one time in our freakin' lives that the economy is failing, jobs are being laid off, airlines are shutting down....Ahhhhhhhhh!

Oh my goodness, I can't believe she'd even stoop to that level! And not matter what, its your freakin wedding day & she thinks she can do this! Especially when she initially said she couldn't afford it & now she's going..not for your wedding!

Your the bigger & better person though & don't let her get in your head or ruin your day...great let her enjoy the resort & also NOT being at your wedding! Life's too short to let selfish people ruin your special day. It just shows you how much she realizes how ridiculous & selfish she was about how she acted in the beginning & most of us choose to ask for forgiveness & rekindle a friendship, others can't let their pride move aside, so they act like 4 yr olds.....hence your friend.

I'm sorry your going through this..if I was at your wedding i'd be your "watchout" girl & football tackle her for you if she came near your wedding wish i could for you!

I agree with you ladies...It's like a guys "ritual" or "right" to have strippers on the bachelor party & were not suppose to say anything. I just think if they don't like it normally (which my FI doesn't) why do they have to then? I've come to realize it's more for the guys going to the party & the hype of they making the groom a part of it & do things and a "free hall pass" for them. Its definitely frustrating..i've kinda just given up the fight..i trust my fiance but it just bugs me no matter what & more have issues with his friends setting him up or egging him on to do stuff with these strippers....errrrrrr!!!

I feel ya...i have 2 months & no BM dresses yet! I am looking for the same "Tiffany blue", turqoise - ish kind of thing. Can't find any i like. Jim Hjelm does have some amazing dresses, same with Melissa Sweet & Priscilla of Boston. Dessy Group .com has some that are pretty. Keep in touch if you find any & i'll do the same

Yep, seems we've all gone thru some sort of similar situation. I just cried this week about it bc while were trying to finalize reservations & get final room pymnts people are complaining & some even not going now....my fiance is great & just reminds me this was our choice in the beginning, whoever else can come will come, but all that matters is that he & i are there. I'm so sorry...it will work out, its just a pain having to deal with airlines for sure! Good luck & we all can't wait to hear about it when you get back! Just make sure to have a few drinks on the plane on the way down to relax!

I'm dealing with the same thing! And we're at Dreams Tulum too in Dec. (7th), which has just made things worse! With the economy & people backing out, the resort closing....we fight all the time & take the frustration on eachother i think. I try to make a conscious thought not to do that on my end, but I'm stubborn (his favorite trait of mine, haha) so when he gives me "tude" i shoot it right back! I think its stressful, but they are right..just think if we were doing the big wedding here, yikes! It will all work out!

Congrats! I have a friend getting married there next year so this will help her out alot!

Ugh, if its not one things its another, doesn't it feel like that sometimes! But your right, can't sweat the small stuff! You'll be gorgeous in that white dress either way... But i can def understand the frustration!!!
