  1. Hi. Welcome to the forum. I'm also new and am in the begginning stages. I stayed at the Gran Bahia about 3 years ago, in July. It was so hot than. But the resort was great. The food was very good. The resort is huge but they have a little trolley to take you around, we walked most of the time but when you were on your way to dinner it was nice to take trolley. There's a really cute shopping center (about 12 stores) but at night they have entertainment like live band and dancers. It was really cute. I also went to my future sister in law's wedding at Aventura Spa Palace in Riviera Maya about a year and half ago (memorial day weekend). This place was great. Everyone loved it, she had about 50 people there. Her wedding was great. The food was really good. We took a trip to Tulum, the ruins which was pretty neat but beware it it's really hot. We did a couple of snorkle trips which were pretty nice, Can't think of the detail of them now. If you need any other info let me know. Sorry this is so long, Danielle NJ

My TA recommended it to. She said it also has Bowling Alley which is pretty cool. Thanks!

If your issue is with the WC and the non-white sand beach then I suggest you look elsewhere. Jules - if it was just one thing, like tripadvisor than I would probably be fine. But it's just the combination of things. Plus the resort wants to charge us each person an extra $350 for the week because we are such a big group, how strange is that! I think we are going to look for our white sand beach, that I love. thanx for the advice!
  6. Robyn, it would be great if you sent me the pics. Thanks, Danielle
  7. Thanks Tami and Tom. You know what, I just gave the Paradisus Punta Cana a quick look. I think I just fell in love with the Palma Real that I overlooked the Punta Cana. I will definately give it another look. Thanks so much. Danielle
  8. Hi my name is Danielle. I'm planning my wedding for Nov 7 2008. It's supposed to be in Punta Cana but we are having resort issues. We finally picked a resort last Saturday but we are already changing our minds. We were going with the Dreams Punta Cana (formerly Sunscape The Beach). But than I went on tripadvisor and read a lot of bad reviews, realized it wasn't on the Bavaro Beach (I really wanted the white sand beach, I know i'm picky), the wedding cordinator is really hard to get a hold of (much harder than other resorts I've looked at) and when she does get a hold of me she gives me half the info I asked for. My top choice was the Paradisus Palma Real, so i'm hoping we can get a better rate from our travel agent. If not we might start looking in Mexico, somewhere other than Riviera Maya. It's where my sister in law got married and it was really nice but I want to go somwhere a little different. if anyone has gotten married in or going to get married in a Resort in Punta Cana or Mexico, please let me know what you think of your place. I need somewhere that allows kids. Thanks, Danielle NJ
