  1. I went to a wedding once where they had a cocktail hour while pictures were getting taken and then about an hour into they switched over to just beer and wine. Nobody knew that there was a cutoff so when the bartender said that he just had beer/wine after that, everyone was ok with it. You could try something like that and just bring a small amount of the punch. Once its gone, beer and wine.
  2. I too am getting married at Dreams next year. I went there last year with my fiance and it was amazing. We compared Dreams with the other resorts down there and we found it to be the best deal and one of the nicer places. Even if it is on the high end for your guests, remind them that there are great restaurants at the hotel and everything is included. We ate at a different restaurant every night and had fantastic meals. That alone saved us a ton. I think we went to town for a total of 1 hour because everything we had was at the hotel. The pools were pretty nice too. There is one that is a main pool that is a little more of a scene. We hung out at one on the side of the hotel that was a little more chill. The best was getting chips and guac with margaritas by the pool. Let me know if you need more feedback on Dreams.
  3. I have stayed at a Dreams before in other cities and it was fantastic. I don't know if they have one there but it's worth checking out.
  4. Thanks for all the feedback. I feel like my head is spinning. Oh well. We updated our wedding website a little bit this weekend and plan to add more details thank to you all. We even found a design that reminds us of our trip to cabo.

    Hey girls!

My friend runs a company that is an online tool to help you get a wedding website online. I told her about this site and she wanted me to pass along an offer for anyone interested. She is trying to get the word out about her busines so she is offering the site to us at a serious discount. Her sites are typically $95 for a 12 month plan with a personal URL but she is offering a promo for only $20 for the same plan. If you are interested, go to DesignOurDay Wedding Websites and check out their designs and packages. You can get a free trial or use this code (BDW2007) to get the Platinum Package for $20. She gave me a site for free (sorry). Take a look: Sally and Trip's Wedding Website This was one of her design templates and it really fits the theme of our beach wedding. Let me know if you have any questions! Sally
  6. Welcome to the site. I have only been here a few days but I have gotten some good info so far.
  7. It's amazing how many Dreams couples are on this site! I was there in June last year and you definitely want to shoot for the evening. I think 6 or 6:30 will be fine. It can get pretty hot there but the sunset off the beach is fantastic. My wedding will be in March but I am not so sure about the weather then. We haven't nailed down times yet.
  8. I hear you. My sister ended up with a $250 store credit for a specialty retailer in Connecticut. She lives in Chicago. I am trying to avoid that sort of thing. Thanks!
  9. Thanks Rachelle. Our site lets us add a few photos and info regarding our wedding. I can also upgrade it to a full wedding website so as i get more time i can add stuff to it. I agree with your advice. I am not going to put it on the invitations but may add it to save the date cards and emails to friends. It is one of those tough things. You don't want to tell people where you are registered, but most people will eventually need to know. I would rather give out that info then end up with 30 vases
  10. We think we may have about 50-75 people. We like the idea of a small wedding because neither one of us like to be on stage. We are thinking about having somewhere on the beach or at least with the ocean in the background. Because it will be close family and friends it doesn't need to be too showy if you know what I mean. Hope that helps.
  11. My FH and I are having a slight disagreement regarding the best way to let people know about where we are registered. He thinks we should just wait until they ask. I think we should tell people and make it easier on them. I am of the mindset that most people get gifts when they go to a wedding. Rather than have them guess where we are registered or have them just buy us something random, I put together an online registry site to pass out the details. I think it is in my signature below. He isn't a big fan. Any advice? I know there are lots of different opinions on this one but I wanted to hear from some of you.
  12. I am getting married in Cabo next March and our thought is to stay at Dreams Los Cabos. My fiance and I stayed there before and loved it. This seems to be the place to ask for tips. We are a little budget conscious and are concerned about things getting too expensive. I know certain things are really affordable down there. How is it when planning a wedding?
  13. Hi there! My name is Sally and I am new to the site. Excited to get tips and advice regarding my upcoming wedding in Cabo next year.
