  1. I ordered mine from DM.com! I was worried too. I requested to see a proof when I submitted the design and eventually they called me. They show you a B&W proof and I wish they would have shown me a color one because when I received the mugs, the color was way off! My mugs had bright green caps and the ink was teal, so it really clashed. I called and complained and since I had such a small order, they reprinted them for me, free of charge. But, they printed them and they still couldn't get the kelly-green, stoplight green color, so now they are forrest green. They are better though, just not perfect. I guess it's hard to get the perfect color you want, so consider sticking simple with white or black. I'll add some pics of mine when I get a chance. Good luck! Oh... and i learned they are horrible about answering emails, so call and call and call! Good luck!
  2. Thanks! It's, HONESTLY, so nice to hear all these nice comments! It's been stressful, and sadly, it seems like my family isn't very appreciative.... or they just don't understand how much time goes into these things. So, thanks a lot girls!
  3. Thanks again! I sent the newsletter out a few days ago - it was sent Friday night. Most guests will leave next Wednesday, so about 1.5 weeks before departure.
  4. I got these bags at Target - nice and cheap. I think they were like $8 for 12.
  5. I'm not sure if you saw my other post, but I actually as a professional graphic designer, so that helps! It's what I went to college for and what I do for a living, but like I said, I think this wedding stuff was the best stuff I've ever worked. I didn't have to please any clients - just myself and Ben, of course I drew the floral background design freehand in Adobe Illustrator and I've used it throughout all our collateral to tie everything together. I think I was inspired by old curtains and scrapbook paper. I liked it because it kind of has a vintage, tropical feel and it's easy to incorporate all our different colors, so I went with it. It's on save the dates, invites, stuff in Mexico, etc. Thanks for all the compliments ladies!
  6. Yes! We leave this Sunday and we've been traveling all over the state the past few days to deliver them. It's so nice to have that job off our plate now. So, the guests received them approx. 1.5 or 2 weeks before they leave.
  7. Thanks ladies! I'm a professional graphic designer, so that makes it all easier!!! It's so nice to finally be able to do a fun project, where I don't have to please clients - just myself I used InDesign for layout, photoshop for retouching photos, and illustrator to draw the floral background pattern, but that gets pretty technical. For something easier, I'd strongly suggest Pages, which is on the mac. Best of luck and thanks again!
  8. Here are a few more items: I've made my own wrapping paper for gifts, personalized gift tags, thank you notes, tags to put on the maracas (for the wedding dinner), etc. I keep thinking of more and more stuff. I need to stop!
  9. Maybe I should have posted all this stuff within one thread... sorry if this annoying. I'm still not really sure what I'm doing Here are our programs, which we're still waiting for the pastor to approve. Who knows, they might be way off if he never writes back to me. We're doing this, but I thought it looked better with white ribbon around the handle, so we did that. The pic was the test program.
  10. Gosh... am I an idiot or what? I work on a computer all day long and it took me weeks to figure out how to add photos! Thanks for your help Katrina - you were very helpful!
  11. These will be given to our guests upon arrival at the resort, along with a matching travel mug.
  12. Nice work! I'm getting married at the Yucatan on the 11th.. I might need to create something similar! One thing I have included in my letter is the weight limit for luggage and carry-on dimension requirements. It's not a must, but if you have room, it might be nice.
  13. natalie - i love your pics! Where were your trash the dress pics taken? i love them!
  14. I'm confused... why can't you see my pics listed below like everyone else's? Instead they are attachments.... Hopefully someone can give me a little lesson!
  15. Ben and I took a week long trip to Puerto Rico last spring to visit some friends from college. While we were there, we spend two nights on a small island called Culebra, one of the Spanish Virgin Islands. One day, after a morning of snorkeling, we went on a hike with our friends. Ben and I climbed to the top of this big rock because we thought it would be a good photo opportunity. While we were on the rock, over looking the ocean, Ben proposed and our friends got lots of pictures engagement_after3.pdf engagement_after1.pdf engagement_before1.pdf engagement_during3.pdf engagement_during1.pdf
  16. I'm have a few questions for anyone who got married or is getting married here.... anyone out there?
  17. Thanks for all the welcomes! I'm still really not sure how this works, but I have lots of questions and I'm eager to hear if anyone has any info about weddings at the Riu Yucatan Resort in Playa del Carmen, or the Playacar or Tequila since we'll have guests there too. Or any general tips or advice about PDC. It's good to be here, thanks for the warm welcome
  18. I know... our wedding is coming up so quickly! Less than a month now! Go ahead and run any questions by me!
  19. Hi, My name is Kelly - I'm new to this and I'm really not sure if I'm doing it right! So sorry if I'm not! I'm getting married at the Riu Yucatan Resort in PDC next month - Jan. 11th.
  20. I'm getting married at the Yucatan on January 11th. There are a few differences between Yucatan, Playacar and Tequila. Yucatan is newly renovated, on the beach it has the complex's fitness center and health club. Playacar is a little smaller, but older, on the beach. The bad thing about the Playacar is guests have to determine what time they are going to eat each night - like a cruise ship. They sign up for 6 pm and then they have to eat at that time every night, so not as much flexibility if you want to do a tour or something. Tequila is less expensive, but still nice, off the beach. You use the beach of the other properties. The Tequila has the disco and supposedly one of the best breakfast buffet's in the entire Yucatan. I chose a Riu because it was less expensive for the guests and close to PDC so we could get off site for activities. Dreams Tulum is also very nice, but it's more expensive and further out, so it'd be a very expensive cab ride if you wanted to go anywhere. If you stay at Dreams, you're more likely to spend the whole on site, which isn't a bad thing, you just need to consider that.
