We stayed in the area for 8 days, mainly for site visits, but also a little vacation. We saw 8 resorts during the week, and stayed at each for only about 3 hours to get a quick feel. For us, we didn't need to actually spend the night, we pretty much knew right away which one we were going with!

No charge that i'm aware of- unless you plan to stay the day to try out their facilities- then you'd prbably be charged for a day-pass.

It's not so uncommon for us cancun brides to also have a cancun stagette!! I think my girls are also planning on it.....

Go with the Garden option if you are looking for privacy!! My FI and I stayed here last April and all the ceremonies on the beach are literally 2 feet away from the hundreds of suntanners... some even topless (you can see the chairs in the pic). I think this is because their beach was pretty much washed away during a hurricane last year and so the area was literally cut in half. If you really want the beach option tho (because the water IS so beautiful in the background), maybe set a later time in the day when there would be less pple laying on the beach? Just some thoughts!!

We went down there in April to do this!! We visited around 8 AI's and chose Secrets Capri... with Excellence as a close second (we don't have any children attending, so the adults only option was fine with us). We didn't need to set up any appointments before we arrived- basically, every morning we would call a couple of the resorts and set up a time to meet with the wedding coordinator. Give yourselves a good few hours between each property (to allow for travel time and the tour). Some took longer than others, of course because we either loved it or knew it was a no pretty much right away. All the WC's we met with were very helpful. They toured us around the resort, pointing out possible wedding/reception locations, restaurants, rooms, and anything else. We left each one with a package that we could review later. We didn't have to pay for anything- the WC will leave your name at the entrance to the resort. Just make sure you get the name of the WC at the property so that you can let the security know! Hi Ladies, My Fiancee and I are from Vancouver, BC- getting married at beautiful Secrets Capri, Riviera Maya on May 20, 2008. When we first decided on a destination wedding, i was a little lost, but I am SO happy to have found this forum- full of useful information!! Anyway, we went on a site tour at a variety of hotels in the area this past April just because it was so hard to decide strictly based in the internet- One hitch that we have come upon is that Sherline (the WC at Secrets) seems to have been replaced by an Alejandra. This was very disappointing because we loved Sherline when we met her, and chose the resort partly because of our immediate chemistry! Are there any other Secrets brides out there ?? Thanks, and I look forward to being a part of this forum!!!
