I think that's prime time to go. We were there late April and had a couple of days of rain over 2 week period.
-
FYI I went to the calendar to enter a date in 2010 (trip to PC woot!) and the option to jump to 2010 isn't there.

Sometimes you just need a sounding board.. that's why we are here!!
You can get caught up with wanting to do everything for everyone, especially a DW where people are paying a significant amount of money to see you get married. That's why I didn't have anyone stand up with me at all, I didn't want the added expense for friends to buy a dress, hair, makeup etc. My best friend ended up signing the register 'as' a matron of honour, but she was able to wear what she wanted and just relax with everyone else.

I'm so so excited for you E!! Have a fantastic time!!

It's called a sweetheart table here. That's what I would recommend.

I wouldn't renege at this point. I would suck it up and pay for the transfer since you offered, and you can't very well give gifts/hair/makeup to your other BM's and not her.
You said you were *planning* on paying for those things for your BM's I assume you haven't told them yet? If so then just have all your BM's pay for their hair/makeup so everyone is equal. Then maybe scale back the gift so it's not so hard on your budget. I've always paid for hair/makeup for weddings I've been in, so it would not seem odd to me to have to pay for those things if I was a BM, and like someone said, if the BM's don't have the $$ they can do it themselves.

These are the measures put in place at our workplace:
No more shaking hands (hard when your customer has just bought a car! It's instinctual!)
We have a cup with pens that the customers are to use (i.e. don't give them your pen to sign)
Hand sanitizers on every desk we are to use after contact with every customer
Lysol wipes we are to use at the start and end of every shift (keyboard, phones, mouse, desk).
Plus our clean up guy wipes down the bathroom with Lysol 3 times a day. In a small dealership like ours if even 1 person gets sick, it will affect everyone. If more then 1 gets sick it could shut us down Same with the techs in the back.

That's funny! I'm originally from Ottawa. Sidetracked north of the GTA for 10 years and very happy to be back in Eastern Ontario!
We should hook up for a bevvy at the pool bar while we are down there!

My SIL is getting married at Dreams Punta Cana (Dominican) in April and it's an amazing resort and very budget friendly!

You can rest assured! The beaches in Punta Cana are AMAZING! Though I don't know for sure about DPC, as it's more north than Ocean Blue was. But aside from the obvious abject poverty you see on the trip in from the Airport, the Dominican is absolutely beautiful!
We did the stingray excursion and it was amazing. We are thinking of doing the Saona trip this time around, and hopefully we'll be able to travel to the capital to visit our World Vision boy that we sponsored (as a wedding gift to each other and to give back to the country we got married!).
We would for sure have gone back without SIL's wedding, and we have to admit we did a lot of convincing to get her to have her wedding there (they were going to go to Jamaica) -
Don't forget budget buster locations that are Canuck friendly like Domincan and Cuba
Welcome and just jump right in!!

Hello all!
I just wanted to say a quick hello! I got married last year in PC at Ocean Blue, but I'm posting here because my SIL is getting married this coming April at DPC! Her day is the 13th I believe. I can't wait to go back to the Dominican, and it's going to be just shy of our 2nd Anniversary, which is so great.
The weather up here has started to turn and I'm already dreaming of the white sand, blue ocean and steaming hot sun!
Cheers to all the upcoming brides!

Tara, did you ever get the 10 minute trainer?
-
I'm thinking maybe just coverage for accidents for the cat maybe? I know the ones that include shots and heartworm medication and stuff, the preminums are rediculous.
-
We'd never be able to do this. We'd soooooo spend it on other things! We're horrible that way!
-
I'd never seen your dress before, it's AMAZING!!! WOW!
You're going to have the time of your life!

That's weird there's no co-pay for you? The quote I got shows that there's a 20% co-pay with PC financial. Weird! This was their example:
covered treatment cost$1,500
co-insurance (you pay 20%)- $300
SUBTOTAL$1,200
deductible- $100
TOTAL REFUND$1,100
Thanks for all the advice! The $600 I said was for the dog AND cat.
I think I'll research some of the other plans you ladies have used as well. -
We just got our new kitten and are contemplating getting pet insurance for him, since he's new and all (and also thinking of getting it for our dog).
There's a number of different companies and a number of different plan types, and it all has me a bit overwhelmed with options.
Who has it, and what do you use and what are your thoughts?
Our quote is for $50/month for the cat and dog. Our big thing (like any other kind of insurance) is that it's $600 a year, and what if you never use it? With this company (Pc Financial) there is a 20% copay, and a $100 deductable. I don't know if that makes sense at all.
