Is it safe to ask what a punkacheen is? wink.gif

I'm definitly good to wait, especially if it means we get the whole order! I'm thinking happy positive thoughts :)

    thanks ladies
  2. Hi! well I haven't been down to the area at all, so obviously I haven't been to any of these resorts. However, Paradisus was on my short list of resorts. I think it would meet all of your criteria. there are rooms that you can upgrade into, it has an open air concept area where you can have a reception. and from the pictures I have seen of it - the buildings look beautiful.

I'm sure youv'e seen Adam's girl's review of it and her pictures - but I thought it looked and sounded like an amazing place.

As for the rest - sorry I don't know too much about them!

  3. Hey! well, I'm sorry I don't know who you were in contact with, but this is who I am working with - and she is fantastic!

    Valeria Martinez.

As for time of year - I don't know what time is the best. I'm getting married the beggining of May - but I've never been there at that time of year! so we will see :)

I won't have too many things. fans at the ceremony, table cloths and something for the centrepieces. I just plan on asking our usher's to set it up. it shoud't take long, so they can do it beforehand!

Oh no! that sucks!! It can't be said enough - your guys efforts are soo much appreciated! I know you probably have it handled, but let me know if there is anything I can do to help you out!
  6. Welcome! I won't be at EDR in April, but I'll be there in May for our wedding!

I really wanted to get a marachi band, but I just could not find a good time to have them. We are doing the wedding at 4, and then a private dinner/dance event at the Health bar and I just plan on taking my ipod with our own selection of music.

Let me know if you have any other questions!! There are also alot of great threads about EDR on the forum already.

  7. Hi! welcome!

St Lucia looks like a great choice! It was 1 of my top choices, but it wasn't appropriate for us, because flying would have been a hassal - but obviously not a problem for you!

My girlfriend just had her honeymoon at St Lucia at the sandals resort. She just loved it. the only bad thing she said about the resort is that some of the rooms are a little worn. however they are also building/renovating the rooms.

that's all I know - so good luck choosing!

  8. IMO I don't think 1 W will affect you, especially given that you are a Dean Lister. I had a W in my 2nd last year in undergrad - and nobody questioned it. If it ever comes up in an interview - tell them what is going on in your life - trust me, I'm sure whoever is interviewing will be able to relate.

I'm sorry to hear that your feeling overwhelmed right now. I understand what you are going through though - I'm in my final semester of law school, planning a wedding for a week after my last exam, trying to get our house sold in a city and build a house in another city 3 hours away and I'm also working. What I do notice, is the bad days always happen when I'm tired (or like you sick!) because that is when your mind can't figure out how your going to get it all done when you have no energy/feel like crap.

Honestly, and I know this sounds cliche - but just take it 1 day at a time. Just get through today and tomorrow until you feel better - and things will look better again!

Hang in there - and feel better :)

Well, if you are not paying for the 3 night stay, and are just hoping to sneak them in as a guest - they will be included on the wedding guest list that EDR will have, so I would imagine it would raise some red flags if you didn't have a chair for them. Although, if you are paying for the 3 night stay already then - it shouldn't matter.

My photographers are coming for a week, so I don't have to worry about raising any red flags! but that being said, I'm still going to pay for chairs for them - more out of courtesy and their own comfort.

Register for everything you see you want because in the end you get a % off if you want to buy something on your own and trust me you will get lots of gift cards and with that % off at the end you can get a lot of stuff, but you can only get the % off if its on your registry.
Oh!! good to know - I didn't know that.
    Thanks Christine :)
  11. I'm off tonight to go and register - I wasn't planning on it, we know FI will be in town and with the night off - so we better get it done!

The advice I've been given is to get lots of linens (bedding & bath). But how many sets should you get? and how many are too many to put on a registery? We have 1 king size bed and 2 spare queens.

I would like to get a set per bed, and had even hoped to get 2 for our king - but is that too many?
