  1. Erica . . . happy planning!
  2. I love them, particularly the sepia ones. Even though it sucked in many ways, at least the DR gave you some killer pictures!!! Thanks for sharing )
  3. okay thanks....I was hoping they would have figured out how to make it work by now but I guess it's a lost cause (
  4. Is this the list you all see when you click the little paperclip to attach something? It won't let me attach jpg files since they aren't on the list....just wondering if my list is incomplete or if nobody can attach jpg files? Attachment Key Filetype Max Filesize Max Width Max Height bmp 19.5 KB 620 280 doc 1.14 MB jpe 19.5 KB 250 250 pdf 1.91 MB png 19.5 KB 620 280 ppt 16.21 MB psd 19.5 KB ttf 146.5 KB txt 19.5 KB xls 390.6 KB zip 4.77 MB I've tried converting jpg files to bmp files but then there is an error with the dimensions so I can't upload those either. I can use the URL of a hosting site but - for whatever reason - most people tend not to be able to see the images (but some do which weirds me out too?) After like 6 months of it not working well I'm perplexed
  5. Oh I know all about the no money lines. Some people really can't afford it, and I have no bad feelings toward them. But, I too had guests who said it was too expensive and spent thousands of dollars on other recreational things. Why not be honest and say they don't want to go? At least they wouldn't be hypocrites. It stings a bit at first but in the end it doesn't matter. BTW, the ones who did that to me haven't called to see how the wedding was and I haven't called to tell them. I guess they didn't belong on the guest list in the first place, but sure as shi*t if I didn't invite them they would have been upset. Go figure.
  6. It's totally not your job to fix it. Could it be that you're the most stable/together one of the bunch and maybe they are used to you being the problem solver? It doesn't excuse their behavior but it would kind of explain it. As the bride all you need to know is the dress code and what time to be ready . . . they should handle the other stuff. After all, this is an extremely rare time in life when everything should be about YOU...it doesn't happen often and I wish they would let you take it all in!
  7. Wow . . . I'll wait for your review but that is sickening and something you guys shouldn't have had to deal with (
  8. Ooooh...a saint in our midst...lol There's nothing wrong with that )

  12. Yay I'm glad you 2 are coming Kash!! No worries, it's not too late. Those directions are right. I think you live in Hollywood too (Kash) so you could also take the 405 south to washington and go west on Washington all the way until the street ends at the beach and C&O's is on the right. Depending on traffic though the 405 to 90 may be a little quicker even though the 90 is a few exits past Washington. Anyhoo, see you all Saturday. Bring your appetites, the pasta plates are huge!
  13. Oh yeah I loved Punky too!!! There were some good characters on that show.
  14. I think that dress is beautiful. Very bridal and not overdone, perfect for the beach. And saving $4k+ almost makes it a given, if you like it that is. You won't wear it to another party or anything, so you don't have to break the bank and if you like it then why not? I could have been in jeans for the difference it made in how I felt when I got to the end of the aisle. The dress is the last thing on your mind when you're caught in the rapture of the day anyway )
  15. I had a similar issue, we did settle on a dress then the bm's lagged and it was too late to order it so we ended up with a new dress at David's Bridal. See if they have stores where your bm's live. They had them in CA and LA where mine were. Mine were all different sizes too, from size 2 a cup to dd cups, and they accomodated everyone in a dress that was flattering to them all. Honestly it's your decision and if they don't like it they can bow out, but if you want to play nice see what they can find on their own and go from there. Make sure they order something before the 6 month mark so you don't have to scramble like I did.
  16. Why isn't it "the dress"? It seems like you're crazy about it to me. We all want everyone to be 100% excited for us but in the end it's about how you feel. Other people will always disappoint. If you aren't happy with it then don't get it, but if you like it as much as it appears you do, don't not get it because she isn't as juiced as you. I bet it's lovely . . . have a pic?

The WD because of the outstanding ambiance and food we all shared as one happy group. The whole fellowship aspect of it made it so that at the wedding everyone was already in sync. I'm glad we splurged on that.
  18. A fabulous suite is what I would spare no expense on. The standard rooms my guests had at Dreams were great but our suite kicked ass!

Gorgeous dress, in champagne or white!

It could belong to an outside company, but I recall it taking people out a few times a day. I was told it was free with our stay by another guest, but I don't know how reliable that is cause we never got on it. It took people snorkeling or just sunbathing, and like in the pictures I posted there were times it was just stopped and they were playing music and drinking and dancing. Ask your WC for sure!
  21. I'm didn't get married at the Riu either so I'm not sure if they'll let you set a lunch up outside, but I don't see why not. We spent 7 days there in June and I can tell you there is plenty of beach. The area where I saw the weddings done is off to the side and is a great place to set up some tables. There were also times where chefs had stoves and grills set up on the beach and were randomly cooking food and passing it out, so if they tell you the kitchens are busy for lunch maybe suggest they could cook outside? I would ask your WC asap.

  23. Okay here is the Riu Catamaran I speak of: Also, if you don't want to get wet or mess up your hair by swimming, you can always have drinks and hang out. The sports bar was nearly always empty during the day, and there is a small casino inside with slot machines. They also have popcorn and sandwiches that you can snag and take upstairs (sports bar is below ground). The seating area for the shows is empty during the day. The kids are on stage practicing their routines some of the day, otherwise it's quiet except for the reggae coming from the speakers. Anyway, there are TONS of tables and chairs you can all sit at as a group, and there are 3 bars close: one bar, stage seating to the right stage seating, another bar under white structure to the right, Mamee bay restaurant & stairs to sports bar under Mamee Bay straight back where you see purple on the ground level
