I am on a roll!!!
KayKay replied to KayKay's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
I will do that when everything starts to arrive...oh and i forgot to add that I ordered my dress last week. Now I just need to hold my breath that everything will come in the mail perfectly -
Citlalli is our photographer the week after your wedding! I have also heard from a few photographers that there is not a "real" sunset there. I think that it has to do with the time of year and the Spring Equinox along with the direction of your hotel. I could be completely talking out of my butt right now though.

Has everyone had a positive experience with VistaPrint? I placed my order this morning, but I have not received a confirmation email and nothing is showing up on my online banking statement. Also, my fiance read somewhere on the internet about consumer complaints..... http://www.consumeraffairs.com/online/vistaprint.html Now I'm nervous!

Hair Fower Clips

This is great! Thanks so much...now I have more decisions to make.... -
My sister was married at DT in July. She had a private reception at Portofino in separate room. The room was pretty small and she had around 35 guests. I believe they charged $20 per person, but I do not recall a fee for the actual room. There are speakers that filter into the room but you could not hear the music. It was either really low (inaudible) or really loud and distorted. Also, I would seriously recommend that you all get someone (family member or friend) to double check that the music works before your ceremony. We wish we would have! They did not do this before her wedding and she had to walk without music for her ceremony! I don't know what the glitch was but her CD worked perfectly on every other music system thereafter. If I were getting married there I would request having my reception at the Seaside Grill. It is right next to one of the ceremony locations and you are on the beach, but NOT in the sand and it is a beautiful view!

Hair Flower
KayKay replied to RaydensMama's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Has anyone ordered their flower clips from Flowerclips.com? They seem more reasonably priced than the other websites I've seen....just curious...I agree that a real looking fake hair flower is the way to go. We picked hibiscus flowers to put in my hair for my sister's wedding and they lasted about 30 minutes and then they wilted -
Welcome to the forum! Everyone here is so helpful.

I need ideas for how I will wear my hair. I have very straight hair that resists curling unless a lot of hairspray and magic happens. I really like my hair partially up in the front and the rest down. BUT I'm afraid that it will blow around in the wind and be a big old mess! What have you ladies done or what are your ideas??

I ordered my dress!!
KayKay replied to KayKay's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
I have some pics with me trying it on... the last pic shows how I'm going to get it bustled. This dress is a 10, I ordered an 8 but my measurements were a 6. I didn't want to take any chances and it be too tight so I went with the 8 I want to be able to eat on my wedding day! lol I just created this account...hope it works.... Carolena, I don't have a ph # nor have I called. I'm waiting for a response through a TA. However, I'm easily offended when someone doesn't reply to me within 3 weeks so I think I'm going to look elsewhere. If Claudia is so busy then perhaps she doesn't need my business. Your question about calling her isn't stupid at all. I was wondering the cost of calling mexico myself. I think your best approach would be to get a calling card that way you can track how much $ you're spending. Good luck.

Dreams Tulum Rooms??
KayKay replied to babycow's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
We stayed at Dreams Tulum 7/2-7/7. When I asked the front desk about staying in a "new room" I was told that they did not have new and old rooms. However, they did upgrade us to an ocean view room for $200 in the "old" section. I found the room to suitable for me. It could use a little sprucing up, but it was just fine by my standards. We could literally open the sliding door and we were on the beach and it was very convenient. My sister's mother-in-law stayed at the new section and their room was NEW and very nice but not on the beach. I think your guests will be happy with either section, we had no complaints from the 35 guests that went...that's pretty good considering my family As for TripAdvisor I would take complaints with a grain of salt...this is not the Ritz but I'm sure some people would find problems with the Ritz on Trip Advisor too. lol. -
Gran Bahia Principe

I've looked at the BP's...they have really neat gazebo there that is painted in Mexican motif. Good luck! -
Hi there, I didn't get married at the Casa Magna but I have stayed there a couple of years ago and it is a very nice resort with great service!

It's funny you mentioned this fee. I just looked at my cc statement today and I have a fee for $6.95 because we used my Bank of America credit card to upgrade our rooms in Tulum. On my statement it says that it is "foreign transaction fee". I would alert your guests if you think they may be using cc's.
