  1. I will do that when everything starts to arrive...oh and i forgot to add that I ordered my dress last week. Now I just need to hold my breath that everything will come in the mail perfectly
  2. Okay so in the last week I have checked the following off of my list: -Booked wedding at the Grand Palladium Resort and Spa -Created std magnets on Vista Print. -Ordered invitations on Products*Page -Created std flyers to send with magnets..... What's next?
  3. Citlalli is our photographer the week after your wedding! I have also heard from a few photographers that there is not a "real" sunset there. I think that it has to do with the time of year and the Spring Equinox along with the direction of your hotel. I could be completely talking out of my butt right now though.
  4. Okay...good to hear...If nothing posts over the next day or two I'll try to reorder...Thanks for the positive feedback!
  5. Has everyone had a positive experience with VistaPrint? I placed my order this morning, but I have not received a confirmation email and nothing is showing up on my online banking statement. Also, my fiance read somewhere on the internet about consumer complaints..... http://www.consumeraffairs.com/online/vistaprint.html Now I'm nervous!
  6. Sure thing... if you have any questions I will do my best to answer them!
  7. This is great! Thanks so much...now I have more decisions to make....
  8. My sister was married at DT in July. She had a private reception at Portofino in separate room. The room was pretty small and she had around 35 guests. I believe they charged $20 per person, but I do not recall a fee for the actual room. There are speakers that filter into the room but you could not hear the music. It was either really low (inaudible) or really loud and distorted. Also, I would seriously recommend that you all get someone (family member or friend) to double check that the music works before your ceremony. We wish we would have! They did not do this before her wedding and she had to walk without music for her ceremony! I don't know what the glitch was but her CD worked perfectly on every other music system thereafter. If I were getting married there I would request having my reception at the Seaside Grill. It is right next to one of the ceremony locations and you are on the beach, but NOT in the sand and it is a beautiful view!
  9. Hi Tricia, I'm in Austin too and also planning a Riviera Maya wedding for Spring 2008. Good luck with planning!

  11. Has anyone ordered their flower clips from Flowerclips.com? They seem more reasonably priced than the other websites I've seen....just curious...I agree that a real looking fake hair flower is the way to go. We picked hibiscus flowers to put in my hair for my sister's wedding and they lasted about 30 minutes and then they wilted
  12. Welcome to the forum! Everyone here is so helpful.

  15. Ooh! I like the second picture with the hair partially up. I'm just afraid that my hair will go flat or worse blow every where.... I guess I could do a test "do" the day before my wedding. My aunt is a hair stylist and will be doing mine. Decisions, decisions....thanks for the website Heidi!
  16. I need ideas for how I will wear my hair. I have very straight hair that resists curling unless a lot of hairspray and magic happens. I really like my hair partially up in the front and the rest down. BUT I'm afraid that it will blow around in the wind and be a big old mess! What have you ladies done or what are your ideas??
  17. That's good to know! I'm so glad to hear that everything went painlessly for you. I can't wait to see your pictures.
  18. I have some pics with me trying it on... the last pic shows how I'm going to get it bustled. This dress is a 10, I ordered an 8 but my measurements were a 6. I didn't want to take any chances and it be too tight so I went with the 8 I want to be able to eat on my wedding day! lol I just created this account...hope it works.... 19. Just wanted to share that I finally decided on my wedding dress! It's Maggie Sottero, "Sandrina". I ordered it this weekend...now only 3-4 months until I get it will try to post a pic. http://www.chameleonbride.co.uk/magg...7/sandrina.jpg
  20. Carolena, I don't have a ph # nor have I called. I'm waiting for a response through a TA. However, I'm easily offended when someone doesn't reply to me within 3 weeks so I think I'm going to look elsewhere. If Claudia is so busy then perhaps she doesn't need my business. Your question about calling her isn't stupid at all. I was wondering the cost of calling mexico myself. I think your best approach would be to get a calling card that way you can track how much $ you're spending. Good luck.
  21. We stayed at Dreams Tulum 7/2-7/7. When I asked the front desk about staying in a "new room" I was told that they did not have new and old rooms. However, they did upgrade us to an ocean view room for $200 in the "old" section. I found the room to suitable for me. It could use a little sprucing up, but it was just fine by my standards. We could literally open the sliding door and we were on the beach and it was very convenient. My sister's mother-in-law stayed at the new section and their room was NEW and very nice but not on the beach. I think your guests will be happy with either section, we had no complaints from the 35 guests that went...that's pretty good considering my family As for TripAdvisor I would take complaints with a grain of salt...this is not the Ritz but I'm sure some people would find problems with the Ritz on Trip Advisor too. lol.
  22. I've looked at the BP's...they have really neat gazebo there that is painted in Mexican motif. Good luck!
  23. Hi there, I didn't get married at the Casa Magna but I have stayed there a couple of years ago and it is a very nice resort with great service!
  24. It's funny you mentioned this fee. I just looked at my cc statement today and I have a fee for $6.95 because we used my Bank of America credit card to upgrade our rooms in Tulum. On my statement it says that it is "foreign transaction fee". I would alert your guests if you think they may be using cc's.
