  1. I agree with everyone else. Mpix is really good and there cs is super. In these cases I would stay with the known rather than try to save a buck or two. But you could always have an 8 x 10 made just to check the quality? But being a Charger fan, I wouldnt have anything to do with a company that has those stinkin raiders on it.
  2. Lustre is similar to what other printers might call a "silk" or "satin" finish. It's a matte-like finish with a gloss-like shine. I think it works great for virtually any type of print.
  3. From a photographer's point of veiw I would say matte. Glossy prints will show the color, detail, and sharpness way better. Use gloss when you print photos of details, a car or something that you want to see the detail and color in. Matte will make people's skin tones look much better, and give an overall artsy look to the image. They will be more flattering because they will not be as sharp and show less detail. 99% of prints that leave my studio are matte. as a matter of fact I always print matte unless the client asks for it. hope that helps..
