  1. Hey guys I'm home! Our wedding was the 3rd and it was wonderful!! I'll try and answer as many questions as I can. Here are a few responses to some of the questions I saw fly by. I'll post my review and pics this week. - I did not contact the videographer prior to getting to Mexico. Once there I gave them the name of some songs I wanted dubbed over the DVD and it came out great. - I brought my ownd DJ however at one point I had talked to the hotel DJ and he asked for music titles 2 weeks prior to wedding - I used Juan Navarro for pictures so I paid for that outside of the ultimate package. He was absolutely marvelous. Money well spent! - we got the buffet mix between silver and gold menus. Buffet s the only option if you have over 40 people. - I got the ultimate package, outside photographer($1500), 65 people and extra decorations and we spent 10k. P.s. Because of the amount of people we booked and the promo packages offered at the time we only paid $200 total for our room for 7 night 8 day stay. - I took a bunch of crap for my welcome bags I put it all in one suitcase and I while it was in the scanner in Mexico the guard asked if it was all wedding stuff I said yes rambled off a few items and went on my way. I got the green button though so I have no idea what would have happened if they needed to open it. Let me know if u have any more questions. The new Mrs. Moye'
  2. Justiner, maybe I'll see you in the airport. I leave tomorrow and get to Cancun around 3:45. I'm going a day earlier than the FI. Mom requested a day alone with me If you see a black girl struggling with 2 suitcases a carry on and a big pink wedding dress bag, that's me! LOL. I'll report back once I get home. Congrats everyone else!!!!
  3. Well I don't live in Denver but I was born and raised in Denver and I have about 15 guests that will be traveling from Denver for my wedding next week. Does that count?
  4. Yep. I was very calm and mello and not stressing about my to do list until you posted NEXT WEEK in all caps. LOL I still have things to do but I woke up Monday all Martha Stewert'd out. I had to give myself a few days to not think about wedding tasks and not flip out about the umpteenth email I haven't received a response back yet from Claudia. My motto this week is I'll just figure it out when I get there
  5. I agree with Hairdos, I've seen pics of a reception at the spa garden on this site too. Do a search in this forum for spa garden it's got to be here somewhere. When I visited the hotel I remember Claudia saying you could do the cocktail hour in the grassy area by the gazebo so that's always an option. My concern is if you do the cocktail hour and the reception on the terrace, what do your guests do while they break down the cocktail tables and put up dinner tables and decorations...seems awkward. I'll just make that decision once I get there next week....
  6. I decided to go with an outside vendor photographer for 3 hrs so I'm going to ask that the hotel photographer that's included with my wedding package take care of the getting ready pictures and possibly my family friends during the cocktail hour while we are taking our pictures w/ the other photographer.
  7. I know there is a travel forum but since we are all leaving soon, I'm just wondering are you all taking your dress and a carry on or do you think all we can have is a dress and a purse?I have a carry on tote that's kind of like the size of a gym bag but I'm wondering if they are counting the dress as my carry on item and all I can have is a small personal item such as a purse/laptop bag.....
  8. With bits a pieces from other brides on this site I wrote a welcome paragraph . Welcome to the sun, sand and relaxation....Welcome to Cancun! We are thrilled that you are here to share in the joy of our wedding celebration. We are so fortunate to have each of you in our lives and feel honored that you have traveled great distances to be with us. Our lives have been intertwined for over ten years and some of you began this journey with us almost that long ago. We have met others along the way and feel that you have all enriched our lives with laughter, love and support. Thank you for your friendship and for being such a special part of our lives. Please enjoy the goodies in this bag, it is a small token of our appreciation.
  9. Wow this is all great information!! Thanks mgl27. I got the Ultimate as well, did they suggest having your cocktail party at the spa garden or did you pick that? I was wondering how they would switch from cocktail tables to dinner tables with all of the guests standing around. Lol
  10. I'm making a play list for the ceremony. For the reception I'm just going to pick out some must play songs and leave the rest to the DJ. However I must say that one of my guests is going to wear his DJ hat so I have full confidence. No seating chart and no guest book for me, that's a little too formal for my taste but maybe if you're expecting a lot of people it's worth it.
  11. The buffet menus I recv'd from Claudia were the same ones posted on the dreams website in that wedding booklet. Do you have that? We just asked if we could interchange with items from either silver or gold buffet menus ( she said yes) and she let us switch out an item off of one of the regular menus and put it in the buffet. No extra charge.
  12. I thin the bride that did this uses this site because I also recently saw this in the review section. Maybe she can tell you how she got this accomplished.
  13. I got an idea from another brides post (sorry I can't remember her name) but I'm going to buy individual slice cake boxes and have the staff set them by the cake then your guests can take a slice or two back to their room in a cute monogramed box no hassling with room service.
  14. I am doing the buffet and I have the menus if you need them. We interchanges items as well I think we even picked something from the non buffet menu. I don't have the info with me right now but I think we switched one of the main dishes out for the chicken suprema and Claudia said it was no problem PM if you have more specific questions I have a few emails from Claudia I can go through.
  15. Okay ladies I've got 27 days and still have lots to do: welcome letters, photo scavenger hunt, DIY fans, figure out a wedding hairstyle, still trying to find fire dancers for reception, future hubby needs shoes, shopping for vacay outfits. Gosh I could go on. What's everyone working on this week?
