I may be a little optimistic, but I'd like to find a nice place that will be affordable for our guests. If you were able to find a resort for under $1500pp all in, where was it? I'm not too fussed about where we go as long as it has a beach.

This will be totally dependent on time of year! A great "cheat" to narrow down some options is to use tripcentral.ca chart! Their prices are never the best out there, but it's a good starting point to narrow down a month or hotel that may work. You load your departure city and other things like length of stay and what star level, choose a region and it populates lowest price by hotel/month! Once you find a couple that look to meet your needs then you can investigate further with your own TA or here specific to weddings!

That's what i am doing... Printed a list from tripcentral and will try using it as leverage when trying to negotiate group rates.

When are you planning on getting married?

If it's during the low season you will have a lot more options...

THIS IS AMAZING! Thank you! Obviously it's not going to have rates for next fall yet, but it at least gives me an idea which resorts are in my price range!

How many days are you looking to go for under $1,500? I got my resort down to $171 per person per night...

Are you American? I think OP is Canadian and talking about package price that includes air hotel and transfers

Yes I am American.  Our price include hotel and transfers, but not air.  I chose our resort because it is only 5 hour direct flight and flights start at under $500 so guests could go for $1,000-$1,500 depending on how long and where they are coming from.  So I do think its possible, but I am not sure on pricing from Canada.

Yes in Canada we are so lucky to have AI resorts priced through tour operators that included everything. Generally it's almost the same price for land only for US guests as it is to get a package that includes a charter flight for Canada for 7 nights. It's one of the only advantages we have here when it comes to travel haha!

The cheapest resort I could find for my week in January (18-25) was the Grand Palladium in Puerto Vallarta, it came in around $1250 per person!  Maybe check it out?

But the Trip Central idea is good.

My TA does alot of pricing for Mexico so she knew what resorts to steer me towards.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
