  1. Is there a minimum amount of guests to have a wedding here? I'm only expecting about 20 people....
  2. Anyone familiar with the Sunset Resorts? I'm choosing between Sunset Jamaica Grande (Ocho Rios) or Sunset Beach Resorts (Mo' Bay)! They're both cost efficient, still AI, and has a beach which is why i decided against my other options. I'm just wondering which one has the more "party" atmosphere? I can go back to school in 2 weeks with at least a venue down and they've already emailed some quotes so I'm excited about that!
  3. I am so in love with this site!!! LOL...I had the day off so I really got to look through a lot of the forums and I believe I have some great options! I'm choosing between Tensing Pen(Negril), Rockhouse(Negril), Villas Sur Mer(Negril),and Coral Cove(Little Bay), and Ideal Awhile(Negril). Anybody have any opinions on any of these sites?A lot of the threads are older and I cant find a lot of reviews. They're all smaller "boutique" resorts which I really like. We're having no more than 20 ppl. @Cherina Thanks so much! I am completely in love with Negril now! Lol
  4. I LOVED the Moon Dance Villas weddings from just looking at the reviews!! I'm looking for something casual too! But it looks a bit pricey. How much did your guests pay if you don't mind me asking?
  5. Hi everyone! I am also a 2014 bride and my heart is set on Jamaica! I'm not actually engaged yet but I've got the ok to start planning lol. I especially wanted to get start early because I'm a nusing student and the only time off I will have will be next summer! But I have no idea where to start! I'm all over the place with locations....I was thinking Sandals, Negril Escape, RIU Negril, and my dream location would be the Couples Resort but it may be too pricey. My main dilemma is price for my guests, I don't want them spending too much just to see us get married (I'm 24 and my bf is 28 so most of our friends are on a "limited" budget) The most important thing to me is that my guests have an awesome experience! We're a low maintenance crew so we just want to eat, drink, and dance. I don't really care about the dress, there's no bridemaids, I just wanna have fun! I'm excited to see everyone's weddings take shape!!
  6. Hi everyone! I've been lurking on the site for awhile and decided to post when I seen this thread! I am also a 2014 bride and my heart is set on Jamaica! I thought I was starting to early so I'm glad that I'm not the only one! I'm not actually engaged yet but I've got the ok to start planning lol. I especially wanted to get start early because I'll be starting my second semester of nursing school Jan 23 and the only time off I will have will be next summer! I wanted to at least get the resort and roundabout price down for my guests so they can start saving and we could start getting a budget set. But I have no idea where to start! Like I said before my heart is set on Jamaica...but I'm all over the place with locations....I was thinking Sandals, Negril Escape, RIU Negril, and my dream location would be the Couples Resort but it my be too pricey. My main dilemma is price for my guests, I don't want them spending too much just to see us get married (I'm 24 and my bf is 28 so most of our friends are on a "limited" budget) The most important thing to me is that my guests have an awesome experience! 7. Hi everyone!! I've been lurking on the site and finally decided to post when I seen this thread! I'm a 2014 bride and I have my heart set on Jamaica! I thought it was too early to start planning (I'm not engaged yet :embarrest: but I do have the go ahead to start planning lol). I'm also in a nursing program and I have about 5 weeks out of school and my next large amount of time off will be next summer!! So while I had some time off I wanted to start planning but its a lot more difficult than I thought! They're are so many things to consider! I mainly don't want my guests to spend too much money. I'm only 24 and my bf is 29 so our friends are on "limited budgets". We're not a high maintenance group though. We just want to eat, drink, and dance. We're expecting about 15 people and the most important thing is creating a great, fun experience! I've been looking at RIU Negril, Sandals, Negril Escape, my dream location would be Couples Resort but I think that might be too expensive for our guests. I'm excited to see everyone's wedding take shape and get some advice!
