  1. Just a heads up, the wifi connection at the resort is NOT that great, you get kicked out often and there are times it won't connect at all. I think it is probably because there are so many people logged on at the same time. Also, the wifi doesn't seem to connect at certain spots on the resort. I facetime chatted with my family back home in Philly while we were at the resort and our conversation was very delayed and would freeze up while the wifi was trying to stay connected. I'm not sure if skype is any better, its definitely worth a shot. Hopefully you hear from your wedding coordinator before you leave, but if not I'm sure she has everything under control. They really do an amazing job! Have a great time!
  2. Thank you so much! I'm having such a hard time deciding which ones to print out for our house! The only advice I can give you is to not stress about the wedding. I know it is easier said then done but they really do make your day so very special! My wedding coordinator did an amazing job, I have NO complaints about anything involving our wedding or our coordinator! (I had Lily Sanchez) Everything will be perfect, just relax and enjoy your day!
  3. The resort has free WIFI, it isn't that great but it worked for what we needed it for. I didnt notice any outlets by the beach. Hope this helps!
  4. We have been back from Moon Palace for a little over a week now!! Our wedding was AMAZING!!! We had such a great time and all of our guests said it was the best wedding they have ever been to! I will write my review soon. Here are some of the pics from our photographer. We used Ocean Photo Studio and I could not be happier with our pictures! They did a great job
  5. I know it's easy for me to say but it will all work out trust me... People wait until the very LAST minute to book. Our wedding is on Saturday and we just had someone book their room today and we had a groomsmen back out last monday, his room was booked and he still backed out... because they waited until the last minute to book their airfare and now flights out of philadelphia are outrageous. My fiance is the same way he shows no emotion and acts like it doesn't bother him but I know deep down it does. I felt the same way you did about people booking, then all of a sudden people started booking about 2 months before the wedding. We have also had our fair share of family drama, my fiance's sister told us numerous times we were selfish, she can't believe we would ask people to spend that much money for our wedding, how could we get married on foreign soil blah blah blah. Then she said she was coming, then she wasn't coming, then she was coming again and guess what she is NOT coming now and we haven't talked to her in 4 months. One thing I have learned is that some people do not care about anyone but themselves and think because your having a destination wedding its no big deal. Some people who I thought would never spend the money to come to our wedding did and others that I thought would be there for sure have given us some lame excuse as to why they cant be there.
  6. Im bringing my computer so I will definitely try to post pics while I am there
  7. We leave tomorrow!!!! I'm so excited. My wedding coordinator gave me Javier Cortes his email is [email protected], but he is out of the office until november 12, his email said if you need assistance to contact Dai Jimenez at [email protected]. Javier let us reserve the dolphin swim for 15 people. He has been awesome to work with!
  8. Well my fiancé and I leave for Cancun in one week!! We are super excited!!!! Except there always seems to be a bump in the road with something, we were all set and good to go with enough room nights to get us all of the group benefits (we had 80) until hurricane Sandy hit our area!! We now have at least 2 guests who are not going to be able to attend our wedding due to the damage occurred from the storm, that knocks us down to 73 nights . I emailed asking if we could still receive credit for their nights because it is out of their control as to why they will not be attending and was told NO, I can't believe they won't sympathize with us over 2 freaking nights (I'm not asking for credit for all of their nights, just enough to get us back to 75), we had a natural disaster hit our area pretty badly, it's not like our guests had a choice in the matter and just woke up and decided they didn't feel like going to Cancun next week. My next question to them is going to ask if we can just pay out of pocket for those two nights ourselves. It still ends up being cheaper then paying for our reception and welcome dinners out of pocket. I'm really stressed now because we had all of our events budgeted around the unlimited events. Is anyone else having to deal with something like this?
  9. Hi, I am getting married on November 10. I ha NO idea there was any construction going on in the sunrise section until I read it on this forum. I called and tried to have all of my guests moved out of the Sunrise section this is the exact email I received... "My name is Abril Reyes from wedding sales department in charge of moon palace. I have been reached by Ms Elvia Gilharry on regards to your request to change your entire wedding group to our Nizuc section of the resort due to the construction going on Sunrise section. Unfortunately I don't have room's availability on your traveling dates to fullfill this request. The construction is currently being held only in the lobby since most of the work on other areas is almost done; as of today, the "sky bar" is open and fully functional, the kid's lounge "wired" is also open along with our fully remodeled night club "noir." All of these areas are featured only in Sunrise section. Please accept my apologies if this caused you an inconvenience, however, our staff will out do their best to make yours and your guest a very pleasant stay." So I emailed her back and told her I find it hard to believe that the resort is that booked and I will just try to have it taken care of upon my check in. I think I am just going to wait and see what it is like when I get there before I make a total stink about it. I can't stress out about this construction thing until I see it for myself.
  10. I'm waiting to pay my final PO upon check out, I refused to send them any money and my coordinator was completely find with it.
  11. We will be there the same time!!! Our wedding is November 10 at 4pm! We are staying from the 6th-15th. We are using smile market/ocean photo studio, I didn't want to deal with the hassle of bringing an outside photographer in. Our locations were confirmed when we signed our wedding PO, but it does say they are not guarenteed until we arrive in Mexico, I'm not to stressed about it. Our group is staying in the Sunrise section, I was told by someone who has been to Moon Palace that it is the "louder/partying" section.
  12. I have Daniela ocampo morales ([email protected]) she has been excellent! She contacted me on August 3 to start working on our November 10 wedding. She has answered all of our questions and replies to emails in a timely manner, she even gets back to me on weekends. The only problems I have had have been with reservations. Our link only worked for about a month so my guests had to book through michelle farinas in Miami, then they did away with that office and NEVER told me, I found out via a guest who emailed her for reservations.. All of our guests then had to book through random people, and all the phone numbers they gave us would be answered in spanish or would be put on hold and forgotten about. the only advice I can give any new brides is to definitely go through a travel agent, it will reduce a ton of stress, and eliminate the tons of calls, emails and confusion from your guests. I have had to call palace resorts so much that some of the wedding planners know me now. The next 7 weeks aren't going to go by fast enough, I can't wait for our planning to be over!
  13. Im using Marvin at maya floral also, his prices are half of what the resort charges and he has been extremely helpful, even after I changed my mind 2 1/2 months before our wedding. He will do bouquets, boutinerres, centerpieces etc... All I did was tell him my wedding colors and sent a few examples of what I wanted and he sends back pictures of what he creates. His contact info is [email protected]. When you email him make sure you put "WEDDING floral services" in your subject title. I know some brides on here have had issues with him getting back to them, I have not had any problems at all with him responding to emails, in fact he has been very prompt and has even emailed me as late as 9:30-10:00. All he asked upon order confirmation was for a $100 deposit that you pay via PayPal and you pay the rest once he delivers your flowers. You wont be charged a vendor fee because he will deliver the flowers to the resort lobby and you can have someone meet him there to pick them up. Hope this helps, let me know if you need anything else.
