  1. Thanks for the advice Winniethepiglet! Thats a great idea because I am going crazy waiting her responses. I have a friend getting married at Zoetry also, its a beautiful property! I agree with Ikw5468 about the prices being steep and I will also be having non-resort guests and the wedding packages only include food for on-site property guests so I have to pay an extra price per person for the reception food for my non-secrets guests. But I have fell in love with the property and I dont think I would be happier anywhere else, so Andrea and I are still working out the details. Im sure it will work out in the end!
  2. Hi Everyone! I too am looking for more information about Secrets Sanctuary. We are planning to have a very small wedding about 10 people - our parents and siblings. I am just wondering for the Brides that did a site visit how the options of the different ceremony places look (Private Island, Seaside Terrace, Ocean Terrace and etc)? Also since we are having a small wedding, ive been debating about just considering using one of the restaurants like the Steakhouse vs the Blue Marlin preset menu, if anyone has any comments about these restaurants. Maria the WC no longer works there and the Banquet Manager Andrea is handling the weddings for now and she is taking forever to respond to emails . Hope anyone can help! Thanks
  3. Osharp, I am so sorry all this is happening to you It will all work out in the end. I think you will be safe, im sure its daylight and many people take cabs. Another option you can have is just get ready at the hotel in advance and the go to the ceremony after your guests have been transported there. I was wondering about the times as well but just forgot to ask. Stay calm and remember this is a special day and everything will work out! Good luck! Atatlanta, Your so blessed to have a friend photographer, im sure that is going to work out fantastic! I totally understand about how the price sky rockets with so many guests and that is the reason we decided destination because we knew not as many people would come, that sounds bad but I dont want to be broke at the end of the day either! My guests are staying 4/5 nights. Also I never actually got a price of the travel accommodations prior to my contract, so I really dont know how much it cost individually.
  4. Atalanta, Hope the photography information was helpful! Yes we are going through a local travel agent and she was able to package my guests through Delta Vacations. Each persons package varies because of airfare because my guests are flying from different cities. Each of my guests are paying around $1100 including airfare and all inclusive hotel accomadations or so pending their departure city. But I gave them other hotel options if they wanted since Iberostar Suites was a little more pricey. It makes it nice since the wedding is at HH and so my guests can stay at any resort depending on their budget and we dont have to worry about resort fees or day passes with guests staying at different hotels. Also I got included in my package price from HH of roundtrip transportation from the resorts to HH and back the day of the wedding. That makes it nice so that my guests dont have to worry about getting to the wedding and takes the stress off me of worrying about them making it on time and etc.
  5. Hey Ladies! Osharp your vow renewal is very close! Congratulations again and cant wait to see all the beautiful pics! Also ladies, I did finally hear back from the wedding coordinator at Iberostar Rose Hall Suites about having a welcome dinner or etc at the resort. She said yes that we can plan a private welcome dinner or any other functions since all my guests are staying there. The prices are kind of expensive but I choose to just have appetizers and drinks it makes a world of difference for me since I am only expecting 30-40 guests. The wedding coordinator was actually very helpful, it just takes her a long time to respond to emails.
  6. Hey Ladies!!! Happy Mothers Day to all! Congrats on having 130 booked atalanta! I agree that is going to be super fun. Also I just received my questionnaire from Alisha about wedding songs, traditions and etc and I am freaking out as I havent decided any of this! I would love to see pics osharp323, congrats and I hope you vow renewal and trip is awesome! Is anyone doing like welcome bags or etc? I am super behind on all these things
  7. Hi Ladies! I hope your trip goes well at the end of May, I cant wait to hear all about it! Well about the photography I was told recently that they do not have a set photographer anymore since their previous once moved the the states to pursue a career. They sent me the info about him but he didnt seem as experienced and he didnt have a portfolio. His pricing was ok but when comparing to other photographers he didnt include as much time. The photographer they recommended seem newer in his career and I just feel in love with some of the other photographers portfolios. Once of the most popular photographers in Montego Bay, Sun Gold Photography I ABSOLUTELY LOVED but they arent available on my day and their prices are slightly steeper. But they have a sister company under them called Associates Photographers that have about 6 different photographers and they give samples of their work and their prices are reasonable, so I am going with one of their associate photographers. I also looked at Stacey Clarke Photography. I can send anyone the info about the HH photography or anyone else if interested! I loved the Hilton, I was going back and forth between the Hilton and Iberostar Suites but since my guest count dropped and is only about 30 - 40 people as of now - we decided on Iberostar Suites. I am definitely an advocate of all inclusive resorts especially when your guests are thinking of saving money. I gave my closest friends and family the option when deciding - most people wanted to pay more for the trip so that once arriving to the resort they knew at least all their meals and drinks are included unless they wanted to venture off and eat at local restaurants and etc. I was able to find a travel agent that booked our trips through Delta Vacations which allows my guests to pay $150.00 deposit to hold airfare and hotel and pay on their trip over the year. This was the best option for us because my guests can pay on their trips like a monthly bill, especially if you have a year to pay towards it and it doesnt appear so expensive. My TA also told me that Hilton wasn't a true all inclusive - some items at the al carte restaurants were extra money, like steak or etc. And I knew my guests would prefer to eat and drink all week and not have to pay a penny. The Iberostar resorts are all inclusive totally. I am still trying the figure out the welcome/ rehearsal dinner and maybe doing a group boat cruise but I havent had any luck yet, anyone have any suggestions?
  8. I have to agree Alisha and the other staff are fantastic and the chat I must say I have taken full advantage as well! I wish I could visit before our wedding but we wont be able to visit until the week of the Wedding. The venue seems great online but its nothing like seeing things with your own eyes. Well I am booked there and super excited! I am currently looking at Photographers now, its so many to choose from , so hard!
  9. Hi Ladies, Congrats on your upcoming weddings! I am new to this but I was wondering if anybody has actually had their wedding at Hummingbird Hall as I am planned for November 25, 2011, yay! Just looking for any feedback or things about the venue itself. Thanks!
