  1. I chose him because there were alot of good reviews on his facebook page, I spoke with him and he seems professional and runs a legit buisness. you can send him your song list ahead of time....you know...all the things that SHOULD happen. I am trying to get him approved as a vendor for the Riu Ocho Rios, he curently does weddings at Riu Montego Bay amoung other resorts and corporate events Kevan Regards, Kevan Stewart (DJ Vaun) JA Wedding DJ 1.876.842.1908 www.jaweddingdj.com See our reviews on Facebook : http://www.facebook.com/pages/JA-Wedding-Dj/100635841365
  2. I am getting married at ROR in a week, and I just flipped my lid on the wedding coordinaters there. I was trying to get answers ans all I got was "no problem man , we will talk about that when you are down there"......that was not cutting it so I raised hell and got answers. My wedding group is 69 people, they offered us a semi private dinner at the Mamme Bay resteraunt, but we could not have our dj and reception in the same place. If you want to have your dinner/dj/dancing all at the same place you have 2 choices 1. Private diner at Plantation resteraunt which is $1000 extra for 4 hours, still have to pay $10 pp for the bartender 2. Private dinner poolside which is $55 per person includes dinner and bartender It was a must for us to have the dinner/dancing at the same place. We wanted to have a somewhat traditional reception where we get introduced, first dance and all that stuff. I have been dealing with these fools for a while now and if I can give any advise it would be. 1. The squeaky wheel gets the oil 2. Be precise in the question's you want answers to, ask question's that can be answered in a yes or no. 3. Don't even bother trying to get ahold of them until 2 month's before your wedding, at that time you will recieve an e mail with location options, vendor choices. Unless you do chosse the private or poolside reception then you can reserve that ahead of time. We used Tia Flora for our flowers and they get back to you right away.....the best thing to do is send them pictures of what you want. We are using a diferent DJ that I actually found on Facebook and he seems to be legit, he will meet with you befor ethe ceremony and you can e mail him song lists and whatnot. I hope this helps everyone because I have alot of grey hair to show for this info
  3. when you girls say that Tia flora is expensive...how much are we talking about? all of the flowers for our wedding and reception is $1200 with that good awful tax... I know it depends what you want but % wise...how much lower is Jan's and shangri la?
  4. Thank you guys for your help, Jesselyn...I understand about the time in between the wedding and reception and 2 hours would be fine but 5 hours is to long for what we are looking for. Â I am currently looking into different venue's to get married at and then come back to the Riu for the reception. if anyone has any suggestions i am all ears..I am looking into Coyoba Gardens, Royal Plantation, and Jamaica Inn....which we wanted to stay at but decided against it in consideration of our guest's. So I am waiting to here back from them but I am not to optomistic as it is such short notice
  5. I am getting married on Nov 10th at ROR Â First off we had the 4 oclock time and they told us they double booked so they bumped us to the 12-1 spot which is fine BUT they said that they do not start any receptions until 6:30! So that means my fiance and our 66 guests will have to stand around for 5 hours? I don't think so! Â ROR may be cheap but they really need to get their act together. The wedding coordinators are horrible to work with and give roundabout answers to everything. I am trying to schedule times and places for reception/coctail hour and they just keep sauing we will schedule that when you come down? REALLY? Â I am at my whits end and I really feel helpless. This shouldn't happen Â
