  1. Hello Sax Lady: I just asked my daughter would she have it any other way and she said not at all. It was very intimate and peaceful. You really felt the love there. I wish you the best!

  3. Hi Lua: Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Destination weddings are the way to go so intimate and to me less stressful! Thank you for your kind words. Yes there is an extra cost for the covered arch I believe it was $150. My daughter wanted that vs. the free arch they were going to proved. The coordinator Dionne at first, did not know what we were talking about when she told her she wanted the fabric covered arch then she remembered. I happen to stumble upon this look when looking at a photographer’s site that took pictures at the resort. So I would recommend that you take a picture with you please feel free to use one of my pics and show them that this is what you want. It is a shame they charge so much for a 20 min ceremony but you are at their mercy. Also, they will not allow outside photographers in your room to take pictures while you get ready. So please ask a family or fried to take on that job. Please let me know if there is anything else you need to know. This site helped us so much in my daughters planning that I just want to pay it forward. The following is a link if you want to look at the pictures from that wedding that I saw the picture of the arch. http://www.saabwedding.com/blog/ You will need to scroll down and you will see pictures from Kristen & David. If you hit next after viewing their pics you will see another couple that got married at the RIU Negril by the name of Tania & Ashton. Thanks!
  4. thank you! Deb, yes it is the fish sanctuary area of the beach. So you do have people on lounge chairs but there is not swimming allowed. You may see jet skies go by or some one walking by but no swimming. I think that is what made it so speacial there was no one swimming and it was semi private. there was one guy that walked by in his speedos while they exchanged the vows but my daughter did not even notice them. If I had to complain about one thing was how they had three weddings on the same day and did not allow for a cushion time in between so my daughter felt rushed by Dionne the wed coordinator. She said she would rate her a C. She was nice but almost like she has done one wedding too many. I can answer any questions you may have as I was glued to my daughter's hip the entire time of planning.
  5. Hello: My daughter is a control freak and was OK with the planning. She was married at RIU Club Hotel Negril. This was the best choice due to the price. The wedding coord really doesn't do much you will control what you can. I am sure you will make the best choice for you good luck!
  6. My daugther was going to have a mid size wedding in the U.S. Her dream was always to have a wedding in the island and if she had the wedding in states with coworkers family and some friends she would have to hold off on having a honeymoon. After my brother suddendly passed away and her favorite uncle she decided just to go away with close members fo the family to get married. Her two good friends and husbands also joined us and it was the best decision she said she maid. She had her dream intimate wedding in Negril, Jamaica and said she has no regrets and would do it all over again. I posted some pics if you want to see the resort and wedding.
  7. I just checked and the link does work. You will see the pics better if you expand at the bottom left hand corner. I hope this will help any future brides!
  8. Hello Ladies: I hope the following link works. As I have mentioned in a couple of my previous post my daughter was married at the RIU Negril on June 5, 2010. We had such a wonderful time. I am hoping my daughter will get a review up that will help RIU Negril brides. I know when I was helping her plan her wedding there were not a lot of reviews nor pictures. I was very greatful for the ladies that did share. You will see some pictures of the resort and the ceromony. She hired an associate of SunGold Photog. He was very nice and since it was a small wedding she paid for the intimate package. Again, please feel free to ask any questions and I will try to answer. The link is from smilebox.com http://smilebox.com/playBlog/4d54677...&blogview=true if the above does not work try the following link. http://smilebox.com/playBlog/4d54677...&blogview=true Take care! 9. hello: My daughter was married there on 6/5/10. I am going to try to post pictures up today. She is goling to write a reveiw but she has been really busy. If it rains there is an area by the big restaurant. It is like an atrium and very nice. We went during raining season and wanted to know the options. If it rains the area where they hold is still beautiful it will feel like your are outside as the hotel is open. You won't be on the beach but your pictures should look very nice. Hopefully, it will not rain. It rained everyday that we were there and on the day of the wedding it was the hottest and clearest day of our stay.
  10. Again typing to fast and too quick to post. We took pictures of my daughter getting ready in her room and pictures of her dress. The professional photog took the ceromoney and post ceromoney pics.
  11. Sorry typing so fast I meant to type if you have a friend that happens to be a photog and is attending the cermoney and happens to bring a camera this would be a day pass in it should be $90. All you have to do is tell the front desk his/her name. Tell Dionne that you don't have a professional photog I think this will work more for an outside Jamaica vendor double check with the person taking the pictures as she may know a lot of the outside photog.
  12. hello sorry for the delay getting the review. My daughter has been so busy she said she will really try to write the review this weekend. I told her you guys would like to hear about her experience. I could write a review but I think it would be better coming from the brides perspective. Here is the deal if you have someone as a guest staying at the resort this person is a family friend taking pictures and not an outside vendor so you should be able to take those key pictures. I would just recommend having them leave before Dion gets to the room because she really prompt when she comes to get you. Also, if you are getting married outside I would recommend building three as it is right where they have the ceromony. Now if you have an outside photog and you tell Dionne she will want his/her name and will charge $200 vendor day pass fee vs. if you have a friend wink wink that is coming to the vendor and happens to bring their camera as a good friend would do this fee is less I think it is $90 again have them get out of the way before Dionne comes to pick you up if she ask it is just a family friend. We had to pay $200 vendor day pass fee which was not cool and I think very expensive but at least they still let outside photogs come to resort were some resorts will not allow an outside photog. We just took our own pictures of my daughter getting married we were bummed by this but they day did turn out to be beautiful so my daughter did not get hung up on that. Also, the photog did not want to break any rules so he did not come to the room. She hired G.B. from SunGold and he was so nice she said she loved him. When she writes her review I will post our personal pictures and then will post the professional pictures. Also, we had a friend video tape the ceromony and she was so happy she did as she looked at at least 30 times lol. I highly recommend that you have a family friend video tape the ceromony you wont regret it. Just make sure they are good at this. She used the flip camera and our friend was out of the way. More to come from my daughter's review. We believe in paying it forward as this site was so helpful in our planning.

If you have an outside photog they will charge you $200 for the day pass and you can't allow them in your room. My daughter is working on the review as I feel it would be fair for her to give her review as the bride rather than me being the mothe of the bride. The wedding was beautiful and she had a good weather. I loved Negril and can't wait to go back! Sorry meant to type free package at RIU Tropical Bay and I think ROR. I have the attachements I can share with you for 2010.
