  1. Your going to have a blast! Here are some things that I experienced. Hair and Make-Up - I along with my wedding party used the Westin Spa. I wasn't interested in leaving the hotel for the day being that we had to start getting ready at 2:00pm for a 7:00pm wedding. I was very scared going in since I had never seen any of these ladies work, but all turned out well. We all got our hair done, which came out great. I was the only one that got my makeup done. I liked it, but didn't love it. The studio where they do hair and makeup in spa is tiny and they don't allow food or drinks. So eat before you go! Photographer - We used Paulina Ulloa. She was great, right on time and got some really great shots. As you may have read on other threads she is extremely slow in responding though after the wedding. At the reception she told me I would get my pictures in 4 weeks. It ended up taking almost 4 months, from wedding to pictures in hand. And during that time I didn't see one proof or tease which was disappointing. DJ - We used a DJ and the hotel set it up. From our experience, it's extremely overpriced. I brought my own music for dinner and about half of the reception songs. Whenever he would start playing some of this own music, it was awful. He also did no microphone talking, so the $900 we paid was a bit much. I would try to talk to hotel down or get an outside vendor if possible. Cocktail Hour - We didn't have a cocktail hour as the cost was to significant for the service. We only had 35 people at the ceremony, half of which were in pictures so the rest just milled around the hotel. Menu - For the menu we chose the most expensive option. I don't remember the name now. It was lobster, filet mignon and salmon. We also did chicken tender kids meals and club sandwiches for the photographers which were half the price. All of the food was fantastic. I hadn't eaten all day, and it was great! Cake - We had cupcakes made by the hotel. They were wonderful. So great and matched our colors perfectly. Only problem was, they never passed them out. Don't know if it's because they're not used to them or what. But after the reception we had the entire top of the cake left along with 30 cupcakes The hotel and staff were great, including the wedding coordinator. Let me know if you have any other questions.
  2. She responded to me yesterday and told me that she was sending the disk dhl. I also asked for a username and password to view them online but haven't heard back. So, I'm hoping to get mine in the next few days. So glad to hear you got yours! Hope that you love them!
  3. Maricel - Have you heard back from Paulina?
  4. We are on day 87, so close to 30 days after what it said in the contract I signed too. I heard back from her 2 weeks ago telling me that they were close to being finished, but it has been a looooong time. This has made our thank you notes delayed as we'd like to include some pics in each. I suggest that when you actually meet her, ask her directly about some of the feedback that you've heard in regards to timing for the pictures. I have full confidence that I'll get my pictures and she was such a joy to work with but it's kind of put me in a funk waiting for them
  5. I heard back from Paulina on August 10th after my 5th email. This time I sent it in Spanish and received a response the next day. I also sent a message on Facebook that also got responded to the next day. She said that my pictures were in the final phases of editing and that I would receive them "Very Soon". It's been 10 days now. So I'm hoping that "Very Soon" means by the end of August.
  6. We stayed and had our wedding at the Westin. The rooms are nice and the pool is great! There are no timeshare people which is really nice. We also walked down the Marriot (it was the only place to watch the Laker game and that hotel is very nice also. I think the rooms at the Marriott look newer, but both hotel's seem pretty comparable. Both hotels are a 20 minute bus ride or 10-15 minute taxi ride from town. Not too far at all.
  7. We had a group of 22. Along with all of the taxi's there are larger vans waiting there to pick people up. We told them we had 22 people and needed 3 vans. They were ready for us in less than 5 minutes. It was so simple and costs about $20 each taxi (Our hotel was in the Marina so the ride was short). Same thing for transport around town. Our hotel helped out out a lot. We all went in to town multiple times and just called 3 van taxi's to pick us up.
  8. I had my wedding and reception at the Westin PV. It is in the Marina. The cruise ships dock about a mile away from the entrance of the Marina itself so you would probably have to take a taxi of some sort to get there. Our ceremony set up and reception was great! Food was good and the hotel has wedding coordinators on staff that help you with everything.
  9. Please let me know when you receive your pictures or receive a response from the wedding coordinator. They seem to know her pretty well down there. Look up PUO Photo on facebook and you will find her.
  10. That's bad news for me if your session was 15 days before mine I feel the same way, fine with waiting, but just need to know that they remember me. It's just that she specifically told us it would take 4 weeks. At the 5 week mark, I sent a total of 6 emails, to two different email address and nothing has been responded to. I had no problems getting a hold of them while I was transferring money before the wedding! Also at the mark of the 5th week I started getting a little crazy and contacted a girl that I saw was a fan on Paulina's Facebook page and asked how long it took her to get her pictures. She said it took about 8 weeks, double the time she was told, but very well worth the wait. I hope we can both say the same. I am really excited about my pictures but am so frustrated about the lack of communication. I was really looking forward to a teaser of some sort when we came back from our honeymoon too. How many times have you tried to contact her?
  11. I'm in the same boat here. My wedding was May 30th. At the ceremony Paulina said it would take 4 weeks. It's been 6 weeks and I'm already freaking out. The most frustrating thing is that she just doesn't answer emails. I just want some idea of how long it should take. I'm glad to hear that everyone hasn't gotten their pictures though and they love them, even if it is taking 3 months
  12. Nikki, Your wedding looked beautiful! Have you received your photo's from Paulina yet? Mine have take 4 weeks now and I'm getting a bit nervous!! Thanks!
  13. Guess I don't have enough posts yet to view your pictures. But glad to hear that you enjoyed it. Ours went great. The food and the setting was just great. I would recommend the Westin as a quiet wedding spot.
  14. I'm marrying May 30th at the Westin. Please do update when you're back. Would love to know how it went. Congrats and well wishes!
  15. Congrats! We are also getting married at the Westin this May. I haven't tasted their food, but we've decided to go with the "Sophisticated Trio". This way, there are two types of fish and a meat choice so hopefully everyone is happy. I've heard that the food there is great, so I imagine that any choice will be great! Good Luck!
