It has been about a week now and I still haven't heard from her. For those of you who have been working with them for a while now, is this normal? I just want to confirm my date, but I don't want to keep nagging them either. Also, I have been trying to find more pictures of the wedding gazebo at the del/beach to show my family members and Fiancee. I have found a few good ones, but if anyone else has good pictures I would love to see them. My email is [email protected] if you want to email them or post them for everyone else too. Thanks so much!! Good luck to all getting married this weekend...it looks like there's a few of you!! Leah =) Hello Leah- I just emailed you some pics of the gazebo- I was married there on April 20th. It was wonderful! I would have posted them for all but I have no idea how to upload them to this site. Please let me know if you want me to email them direclty to you.
  3. Hello Everyone! I had my wedding at the Del Mar on April 20th at the Gazebo. We rented the Tropical Restaurant for the reception and everything went perfectly. We used DJ bob and I would highly highly recommend him- he was fabulous! I also used Citlallil with Claudia Rodriquez's team and she was wonderful as well. I do not have my pitcures back yet but will post as soon as I do. Also the flowers were gorgeous. Reyna was great as well! She was very detailed and very accommodating. Do not worry she will take care of all your requests. I'm not sure how much help I will be as many of you are not doing your weddings at the Del Mar now with the closing but please email me with any questions you have about anything! [email protected]. As so many reviews have stated the Iberostar team truly does an amazing job at weddings. I will write my full review soon! Good Luck to everyone! Try not to worry/stress too much, your day will be perfect!

Sorry if I offend anyone, just not very religious, my dad is jewish, FI fam is Catholic...but that is not going to work for us at all! SO I hope they can tone that down or leave it out. Oh and what is DH? Designated hitter it is not, right? haha HI BBtoB- I'm from Colorado as well! I hope we don't get the snow tonight- I'm leaving in the morning for our wedding. Soooooooo excited. I'll write a detailed reveiw for everyone when I get back. Cheers!

The reason I think that that picture is of the steakhouse is because it's open air and it's by the blue buildings in the background (which were the buildings DH and I stayed in which are a few feet away from the steakhouse, the rest of the buildings on the beach side are red and orange and the buildings on the del mar side look totally different than that altogether). Edit: Just looked at the rest of those pics, it is definitely, 100% the steakhouse...I see that they served the onion cactus to start ine one of the pics...the exact same starter they served us with. Also further in, the exact same steak/ribs/sides that we had at our reception at the steakhouse. Thanks Paraisobeachbride2009! Sorry about that! I think it still gives a good idea of the tabel size mabye though? I heard the Steak House and the Tropical are simlar in layout, is this true?

I AM SECOND GUESSING MYSELF ON EVERYTHING cause as soon as i feel comfortable about something they change what they are saying lol Hi Gail- I am renting the Tropical and we are doing 7 tables of 10 people at each. I have confirmed this with both Gabriella and Renya. They both have said the tables will work for 6,8 or 10 people per table. I think 8 or 10 people is perfect. I have seen a few pitures of other weddings at the Tropical and the tables look like they can seat 8-10 perfectly. Here is a link for pictures at the Tropcial that I found on Mr.Iberostar.com picture #135 us a good pic of the tables. del Sol Photography Wedding Photojournalism I hope this helps!

This makes me nervous as I am anxiously awaiting my apostille (should be any day now...) and I'm concerned that this may affect if/when I get it (if ever...sigh). Please let me know. Thanks! Gabreila's last day is today April 14th she got promoted to wedding cordinator at the Iberostar Tucan. I would not worry, Reyna is taking over for her- you may want to email them.

THEY ARE STRESSING ME I am also renting the Tropical for $800 plus $18 per person charge beyond 10 people which is already included in the standard wedding package. They told me I had to rent the Tropical from 7-11pm which is what we are doing. And I'm doing a cocktail hour from 6-7 with the extra apps/drinks for $12 per person. I was worried also about Gabriella moving on but I expressed this to them and they said Reyna has a lot of experience and will do a great job- I hope :-)
  9. We have 64 people coming to our wedding at the Del Mar/Beach. We are having a welcome/Reception dinner for 64 people at the Japanese Resturant and they are not charging us extra. They only required that we make it for 8:30pm. We did pay extra to have a cocktail hour before the dinner and we are renting out the Aqua bar with drinks and apps. My wedding is 1 week from today we leave this Friday!! I'm sooooooo excited. I will make sure to post full details when we return. Thank you all- this site has been a huge help!
  10. Same here I emailed the Beach/Del Mar and my email got returned also. I sent it again today and will let you know if it goes through. I wouldn't worry, I'm sure it was just down for a bit and will be back up soon!

I assumed she would direct them to one of the nearby bars. She also told me that alcohol is included at the Tropical Restaurant, but I'm also curious about how it is set up. Do we just order whatever drinks we want and the waiters bring them, or is there an actual bar set up where we would get our own drinks. I'd love to know! Gabriela told me the same thing! She did mention there are bars that our guests can go to in between or she did say some people wander to the beach to watch you take pictures. I don't think we should worry- I'm sure everyone will be fine and just grab a drink somewhere. As far at the Tropical Restaurant I was told it is open bar as well. Yes there is an actual bar that is set up right inside the Tropical Restaurant but I'm not sure if the waiters server drinks as well. I have seen past pictures of other weddings receptions in the Tropical where people are standing at the bar taking shots:-) and there is a batender behind the bar. As for alcohol this is the list I was provided by Gabreilla: *Martini, Campari, Dubonet, Pernod *Tequila EL Cuervo, Jimador, Don Julio, Cofradía, Pura Sangre, Sauza *Rum Habana añejo, Bacardi Solera, Bacardi Añejo, Appletton *Gin Gordons, Beefater, Tanqueray *Vodka Gordons, Smirnoff, Eristoff *Whisky Passport, Ballantines, J. Walker red label, Bourbon *Brandy Veterano, Magno, Torres 10 Años *Different kinds of liqueurs (coffee, mint, peach, banana, coconut, triple sec, Curacao, etc) She did mention if I have special requests let her know. I hope this helps!

I'm using DJ Bob for the reception, so I figured I'd just play tropical music during the cocktail hour. Just curious, what did you guys do? I might get the mariachi instead, but of course that's more money! I also am having a cocktail hour- I hired DJ bob from 7-11. I hired the Mariachi band for the cocktail hour 6-7. You may want to call DJ bob and see what he recommends. I know he did a site visit so he may be able to tell you if he can arrange his speakers so your guests can hear during the coctail hour?

I guess I'm rolling the dice a bit but I did not want to send the extra money:-)

We are getting married at 4:00pm also and I set up my hair appointment at the salon for noon. This may be a bit early but I wanted plenty of time to mess with it just incase I didn't love it! :-) We have 62 people coming and I feel pretty good about most things. We rented the Tropical Restaurant for 7pm and are doing an hour of cocktails and apps starting at 6pm. We hired DJ bob for the night and I also am having an outside photographer coming in- I'm using Claudia Rodriguez Photographer. If anyone has questions please let me know. As soon as we return I will post a review. The count down is on!
  15. Hi Gail- What did Gabriella repond when you ask the cost for the Gazebo to be fully decorated like the picture? Did they give you a cost? Thanks!
