  3. Hello Everyone! I had my wedding at the Del Mar on April 20th at the Gazebo. We rented the Tropical Restaurant for the reception and everything went perfectly. We used DJ bob and I would highly highly recommend him- he was fabulous! I also used Citlallil with Claudia Rodriquez's team and she was wonderful as well. I do not have my pitcures back yet but will post as soon as I do. Also the flowers were gorgeous. Reyna was great as well! She was very detailed and very accommodating. Do not worry she will take care of all your requests. I'm not sure how much help I will be as many of you are not doing your weddings at the Del Mar now with the closing but please email me with any questions you have about anything! [email protected]. As so many reviews have stated the Iberostar team truly does an amazing job at weddings. I will write my full review soon! Good Luck to everyone! The reason I think that that picture is of the steakhouse is because it's open air and it's by the blue buildings in the background (which were the buildings DH and I stayed in which are a few feet away from the steakhouse, the rest of the buildings on the beach side are red and orange and the buildings on the del mar side look totally different than that altogether). Edit: Just looked at the rest of those pics, it is definitely, 100% the steakhouse...I see that they served the onion cactus to start ine one of the pics...the exact same starter they served us with. Also further in, the exact same steak/ribs/sides that we had at our reception at the steakhouse. Thanks Paraisobeachbride2009! Sorry about that! I think it still gives a good idea of the tabel size mabye though? I heard the Steak House and the Tropical are simlar in layout, is this true?

I have confirmed this with both Gabriella and Renya. They both have said the tables will work for 6,8 or 10 people per table. I think 8 or 10 people is perfect. I have seen a few pitures of other weddings at the Tropical and the tables look like they can seat 8-10 perfectly.   9. We have 64 people coming to our wedding at the Del Mar/Beach. We are having a welcome/Reception dinner for 64 people at the Japanese Resturant and they are not charging us extra. They only required that we make it for 8:30pm. We did pay extra to have a cocktail hour before the dinner and we are renting out the Aqua bar with drinks and apps. My wedding is 1 week from today we leave this Friday!! I'm sooooooo excited. I will make sure to post full details when we return. Thank you all- this site has been a huge help!
  10. Same here I emailed the Beach/Del Mar and my email got returned also. I sent it again today and will let you know if it goes through. I wouldn't worry, I'm sure it was just down for a bit and will be back up soon!

As for alcohol this is the list I was provided by Gabreilla: *Martini, Campari, Dubonet, Pernod *Tequila EL Cuervo, Jimador, Don Julio, Cofradía, Pura Sangre, Sauza *Rum Habana añejo, Bacardi Solera, Bacardi Añejo, Appletton *Gin Gordons, Beefater, Tanqueray *Vodka Gordons, Smirnoff, Eristoff *Whisky Passport, Ballantines, J. Walker red label, Bourbon *Brandy Veterano, Magno, Torres 10 Años *Different kinds of liqueurs (coffee, mint, peach, banana, coconut, triple sec, Curacao, etc) She did mention if I have special requests let her know. We are getting married at 4:00pm also and I set up my hair appointment at the salon for noon. This may be a bit early but I wanted plenty of time to mess with it just incase I didn't love it! :-) We have 62 people coming and I feel pretty good about most things. We rented the Tropical Restaurant for 7pm and are doing an hour of cocktails and apps starting at 6pm. We hired DJ bob for the night and I also am having an outside photographer coming in- I'm using Claudia Rodriguez Photographer. If anyone has questions please let me know. As soon as we return I will post a review. The count down is on!

He sent me a list of some typical songs he plays, and honestly, I wasn't a big fan of them, so I'm trying to think of as many songs as possible! What are your guests going to do in between the ceremony and cocktail hour? Gabriela told me she would take care of it, so I'm not sure exactly what that means. I think there's a bar near the beach that the guests can go to to kill some time before the cocktail hour. That is a great question about what the plan is for the guests between the wedding and the cocktail hour, I was thinking they would all just kill some time at a bar as well. I just emailed Gabriela to see what she will do to help facilitate this. I will let you know what she says. As far as DJ Bob I am still working on my 15 or so songs to send over to him. He told me the same thing as he did to you about wanting to have flexibility. I also emailed him asking if he would have a large library so that if my guests want to request a song he would have a large number of songs to select from? I will let you know on that as well. That is great you are paying for your girls to get their make-up and hair done- very nice of you! I heard the same feedback on the make-up so I do not plan to use them for that only just my hair. Do you have a large group coming? I think I am close to 55 guests that are comfirmed. Can't wait!

Stina168- I am getting married April 20th at the Del Mar as well at 4pm and we are doing the cocktail hour at 6-7 outside of the Tropical Restaurant and then will move inside for dinner at 7:00pm. I am going to join my guests for the cocktail hour and then will have the DJ introduce us as well once we move into the resturant. We hired DJ bob ( I think you may have hired him as well?) and FYI- I introduced him to Gabriella and he is going to the resort today to meet her and check out the location, so that is great he will be prepared! Sounds like we are have similar plans for our weddings. What are you doing for your hair? I plan to use the Salon at the resort but I am a little worried still about them?

Danielle- This is what Gabriela wrote back to me when I was inquiring: "As per the cocktail party as a private event, we rent only the Aqua Bar "La Perla" (groups smaller than 30 pax) or the Icea cream bar "El Puente" (groups larger 30 pax), the time available its 6:30-11:00pm (the Aqua Bar) & 7:00-11:00pm (the Ice cream bar)" She also sent me pictures of both locations that I can email you or I'm happy to upload them for everyone but I'm not sure how to upload files :-) I hope this helps!
  21. I am getting Married at the Del Mar at 4pm as well but we are renting out the Tropical Resturant and having our cocktail hour right outside of the Tropcial Resturant. I am doing a cocktial hour before my rehursal dinner as well and Gabriela suggested we could rent the Aqua or the Ice Cream shop- the Ice Cream shop might be an option for you to look into.

  23. Thanks for the info Lyssa- I was wondering if you had the DJ or someone else be your MC- the one who keeps the night moving; when to start dinner, announces the first dance, cake cutting, ect? Did Gabriela stick around the whole night?
  24. Lyssa Congrats! Everything you did for your wedding sounds exactly how I plan to have mine set up for April 20th at the del Mar! I am also considering a catamaran trip. Would you mind telling me the cost per person for the catamaran trip, including the food, drinks, catamaran and then the bus ride down. Also would you recommend building 15 or 16 again- is this in a good location at the resort? I can't wait to see your pictures!!
  25. I really like this idea for the vases! Are they very big? Are you picking a smaller bouquet of flowers, its hard to tell online :-)? Would you mind if I ask how much they are charging you per flower centerpiece
