Hi, planning my daughters wedding for Memorial weekend 2007. This website has been a big help.

Has anyone used CTA wedding consultants? They are affiliated with Beverly Clark and the group that I have contacted works Riviera Maya/Cancun exclusively. I would love any comments people have.

We are expecting 100 guests, no kids, and are overwhelmed at all of the choices of all-inclusives in this area. We thought CTA might be able to help us decide which place is best.

Any advice would be welcomed.

well, honestly, some of those bigger companies are not very great...they are not very customized and you do not have a face of someone you are working with. i would never use a company like that to plan my wedding.

why don't you let us know what is important to you? location? food? luxury? what is your budget? what are you targetting as your per night/per room rate?

we have alot of RM/cancun information on this site.

I agree wit Tammy, before hiring a big company like that why dont you look around at the all inclusives, narrow them down to a few resorts that interest you the most and then ask around here for opinions on them.

Honestly, see how much free info and advice you can get from this forum and you might find out your a little less confused and dont need to hire a big company like that. Those big companys often dont personally know the resorts anyhow.

thank you so much for your thoughts. Here goes with specifics:

100 guests, no kids, all inclusive, Memorial Day weekend 2007, most guest will stay at the resort so approx. 50 rooms, chapel or large gazebo, reception outside but not on the sand, spa. About $180 a night per guest.

Seems like the wedding packages never include this many guests and therefore they seem pricy to me. What am I missing about pricing for large weddings.

We like the pics of El Doradao and the wedding gazebo from Dreams Cancun. Others considered La Banc.

HELP!!! You are such a good source already, I would love all comments.

Good pics. Both The El Dorado Royale and Dreams have good reputations as far as their weddings go. Another one to consider might be the Palace resorts they are also known for good service when it comes to weddings and I believe are adult only resorts but I could be wrong about that.

Here are the links to there resorts in the RM/Cancu area;

Aventura Spa Palace Riviera Maya

Palace Resorts - Welcome to the Official Site - Aventura Spa Palace adults only resort offers relaxing spa vacations!

Playacar Palace in the Riviera Maya

Playacar Palace

Xpu Ha Palace in the Riviera Maya

Palace Resorts - Welcome to the Official Site - Enjoy an exciting vacation in the natural setting of the Xpu-Ha Palace Resort!

Moon Palace in Cancun

Palace Resorts - Welcome to the Official Site - All inclusive vacations at the Moon Palace Golf Resort in Cancun, Mexico

You might want to just check the guest capacity on them. I kind of think the moon palace only does small weddings. But at least you have a few more good resorts to look into. Tammy will know much more than me.

I think a good start would be to e-mail the Wedding Cordintator at the resorts you are most interested in and they will give you more detailed information for your wedding. I believe the packages that the resorts list on their website are just sort of a general package that fits most peoples needs. I'm pretty sure most resorts let you customize your own package.

Good Luck

those are all good choices....i think for the actual wedding it would be cheapest to do it at dreams or palace BUT if you chose el dorado it would be pretty fantastic...BUT realistically, most of the better wedding resorts will be booked for memorial weekend 2007...if that is def. the date you want you better start calling resorts because i am doing a may 2007 wedding in rm and they originally wanted that weekend but we had a hard time just getting a fri, sat, or sun open in may/june.

i will do a quick check for you on prices...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
