Christmas recipes

Hey girls...since we already have Thanksgiving recipes I figured why not start up a Christmas one as well....I also thought we could start it up early that way we could all get enough ideas to make something new this year.....so I'll start it off with a few of my favorites:

This is just an appetizer which is so yummy and super simple

Stuffed mushrooms

Ingredients: 1-2 containers of mushrooms

Cream Cheese

Bacon

First you remove stems and clean then let dry

Mix cream cheese and crumbled bacon(i've use bacon bits before to make it quicker instead of frying bacon and works just as well)

Fill your mushroom tops

Broil for about 10min or until tops are lightly brown

Next of course you have to have something sweet

Mini-Cheesecakes Make: 12

Ingredients: 12 Vanilla wafers

2 8-oz. pakages of cream cheese softened

1/2 cup sugar

1 tsp. vanilla

2 eggs

First Cupcake tin with foil liners.

Place 1 vanilla wafer in each liner.

Mix cream cheese, vanilla, and sugar on medium speed until well blended. Add eggs then mix well.

Pour over wafers filling 3/4 full.

Bake 25min at 325

Remove from pan when cool and chill

Top with your favorite topping(cherry pie filling, blueberry pie filling, nuts....your could also have mixed chocolate chips in with cream cheese mixture as well.

Anyway...these are just a few....I will add a few more later. Keep them coming girls I need some new ideas this year because i'm having everyone over and I have to cook.

This is my most requested appetizer at parties. People fight over the last one!

Bacon Wrapped Smokies (cocktail weenies)

This is for 32 snack size weenies:

INGREDIENTS

2 pounds sliced bacon, cut into thirds

2 (14 ounce) packages beef cocktail wieners

1 cup brown sugar, or to taste

DIRECTIONS

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).

Wrap each cocktail wiener with a piece of bacon and secure with a toothpick. TIP: I just put a piece of bacon on the cutting board, wrapped the smokie in it until there was a slight overlap, cut the bacon with scissors, & stabbed it with a toothpick. Much easier than cutting the bacon into thirds since the smokies are not always the same size.

Place on a large baking sheet. Sprinkle brown sugar generously over all.

Bake for 40 minutes in the preheated oven, until the sugar is bubbly. To serve, place the wieners in a slow cooker and keep on the low setting.

They are so delicious and they will be a HUGE hit. I know my friends and family love em!

I have a drink that we always make for christmas. It's good to have on hand with all the friends visiting and everyone loves it.

SLUSH

Mix together (you're going to need something kinda large to put it in, such as a gallon size bucket):

26'er Vodka

1 frozen Lemonade

1 frozen orange juice

7 cups boiling water

1 cup strong tea

3/4 cups sugar

Freeze it. Then when guest come by scoop out a few spoonfuls (however much you like) into a glass and mix with ginger ale.

ENJOY your nice slushy drink!!

You guys that stuff has my tummy growling...and that slush sounds evil - I must make it :o)

My cousin gives these cookie bars out every Christmas and we devour them. Really easy and delicious!

P.S. My aunt doesn't eat coconut so her batch is made with diced dried apricots instead.

7 Layer Cookie Bars

4 ounces butter

1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs

1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

1 (6 oz.) pkg. butterscotch chips

1 small can shredded coconut (1 1/3 cups)

1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk

1 to 1 1/2 cups chopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350°. Melt butter in 9x13-inch baking pan. Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs over melted butter; spread crumbs with chocolate chips, then butterscotch chips. Sprinkle coconut over this, then drizzle the sweetened condensed milk evenly over all.

Sprinkle with the chopped pecans. Bake for about 25 to 30 minutes.

Cool and cut in 1 1/2-inch squares.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
